<div>Hello everyone, my dad, Stewart Charles Knapp Jr., also known as “Chuck” to family, friends, and the North Olmsted, Ohio, and Westlake, Ohio communities, passed away at Malachi House in Cleveland yesterday on July 4th, 2026, following a four-year journey of Stage 4 Lung and Bone Cancer.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>My dad did the best he could in life with the cards that were dealt to him. He lost his father at the young age of 10 years old after his father served in World War II, and he lost his mother at the age of 24 years old after she battled her own cancer. My dad, despite losing both of his parents very young, went on to become a father of two and a husband. He loved me, my brother, and my mother the best he could while experiencing his own pain and heartbreak. Chuck struggled through his life with that pain and, at the end of his life, used that pain to channel strength to fight a very intense cancer battle of his own to spend the little time he had left with his family. Chuck fought hard with the amazing support of his family, UH Seidman Cancer Center Team, and the staff of Malachi House.

<div><br />

</div>

<div>Chuck was a well-known, respected, and long-term employee of Great Northern Mall in North Olmsted, Ohio, as the Director of Security and Public Safety Operations for over 40 years. He was an avid fisher and golfer and enjoyed being outside in the fresh air and walking through Clague Park with man’s best friend.

</div>

</div>

<div>My father was given six months to live almost two months ago. We thought we had more time with him after chemo and radiation stopped working. <strong>Unfortunately, we were so focused on making the most of each day with him that we were not focusing on preparing for the ending.</strong>

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div><strong>I am attempting to raise funds for his cremation costs and hold a memorial service for him.</strong> Unfortunately, my dad had no life insurance policy, and due to the company he dedicated 40 years of his life to that was continuously sold to new owners, he had no retirement offered as well. Any amount would help. His sister lives out of state, and I would additionally like to be able to bring her to Ohio to say goodbye to her brother. Thank you for your help.

</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>We are The Elles Collective, a nonprofit whose mission is to empower francophone women in the United States to achieve professional success and personal fulfillment. We provide tailored tools for the American market, collective support, and a nurturing community to turn every challenge into an opportunity.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Today, we are reaching out to you with a heartfelt plea to help our community members devastated by the ongoing Los Angeles fires.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>At least five of our beloved members have already lost their homes to this catastrophic disaster, and we fear more may be affected as the fires continue to spread. These are our friends, neighbors, and fellow community members who have contributed to making our community a better, brighter place. Now, they face the daunting task of rebuilding their lives from the ashes.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>Why We Are Raising Funds</strong>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>In this time of crisis, we are committed to standing by our community members in their moment of need. As a nonprofit, we are launching this GoFundMe to collect emergency funds that will be redistributed directly to the families in our community who have lost their homes. While some of these families will eventually create their own fundraising campaigns, the immediate support we provide can offer them a lifeline as they navigate this challenging time.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>How Your Donation Will Be Used</strong>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Your generous contributions will go toward:
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Immediate Relief: Providing families with essential items such as food, clothing, and temporary shelter.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Rebuilding Support: Offering financial assistance to help them begin the process of rebuilding their homes and lives.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Future Allocation: Once we have a clearer understanding of the number of families affected, we will transparently distribute these funds to support their individual fundraising efforts.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>Our Commitment to Transparency</strong>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>We understand the importance of trust and transparency in times like these. Every dollar raised through this campaign will go directly to assisting the families in need. As we allocate funds, we will provide updates on how your donations are making a difference in the lives of those affected by this tragedy.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>How You Can Help</strong>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Please consider making a donation to support our community members during this time of unprecedented need. No amount is too small—every dollar counts and brings hope to those who have lost so much. If you are unable to donate, sharing this campaign with your network can also make a tremendous impact.
</div>

</div>
<div><strong>Stay Connected and Support in Other Ways</strong>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Follow us on social media to stay informed about additional ways to help in the upcoming days. Next week, we plan to organize a collection drive for supplies to support shelters and impacted families. Additionally, we have compiled a list of community members willing to temporarily host families in need across Los Angeles, San Diego, and Orange Counties. If you or someone you know requires temporary housing, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us.
