<div>I'm writing this on behalf of my brother, Jamie, who was recently diagnosed with multiple myeloma, an incurable but treatable form of blood cancer. As a result of the cancer, a spinal fusion was needed to repair and stabilize his back. With an intensive treatment plan, which includes chemotherapy and radiation treatments, the diagnosis has changed everything for him and his family, and they now face a long road ahead physically, emotionally, and financially.

<div><strong>Jamie is self-employed and has worked hard for years as a truck driver doing everything he can to support his wife Kelly and their family.</strong> He’s always been someone who shows up for others, whether it’s helping out a neighbor, taking on extra work to support his family, or being there when you need him.

<div>Because he’s self-employed, he doesn’t have access to paid time off through an employer. Now that he’s in treatment and recovering from surgery, he is unable to work, and the bills for medical care, travel for treatments, and basic living expenses are adding up.

Support Jamie's Battle with Multiple Myeloma

On May 17th, 2020 Shelby Dishaw &amp; Eric Richards brought Baby Lucas into this world 14 weeks prematurely, weighing just 14.8 oz. Baby Lucas has been in the NICU continually the past 8 months going back and forth from Burlington, VT and Boston, MA. He has been such a little fighter overcoming so many health obstacles, surgeries, and various procedures. Shelby has been by his side since day one, only coming home twice these last 8 months. Eric has been traveling back and forth as much as possible trying to work to support his little family. <br /><br />At this time, Shelby and Eric are still unsure when Baby Lucas will be able to come home, as he still has many hurdles to conquer before he can safely be discharged. Until then, Lucas will remain in the hospital while he gets bigger and stronger, with his mom and dad by his side.<br /><br />Thankfully, with Shelby being an RN she is able to not only love her baby as a mommy but also take an active part in his care.  After discharge, they are expecting that Lucas will have complex medical needs, requiring long term ventilator support while he grows and gets stronger. Due to this, Shelby will be unable to return to the workforce for an extended period of time while she cares for Lucas at home. <br /><br />We are creating this go fund me page in hopes to lighten their financial struggle and hardship for cost of travel, gas, food, bills, etc.  When Eric and Shelby are asked how they are doing and if they need anything, they put on a brave face and say: “We got this. We made a vow to do whatever humanly possible to give our little boy a good life”.  But the reality is the Baby Lucas will continue to need very special care for a very long time, preventing Shelby to work outside of the home.  <br /><br /><span style="font-size:1.0625rem;">In hopes of easing their minds, we are asking for donations.  Any amount of money, big or small, that you are able to donate would be greatly appreciated.  If you are unable to donate please just say a prayer for Baby Lucas and his parents and send well-wishes their way.  Feel free to share and forward to others. Financial Assistance for Miracle Baby Lucas

Bethea-Latterell was born on July 9, 2020. There were complications with his delivery and he came into the world by way of emergency c-section.  Then Tamara required an emergency historectomy due to complications. <br />At four months old Priceless had a fever and Tamara took him to the drs. Shortly after being there his lips turned blue and he had to be rushed by ambulance to the hospital. Since then they put him on a ventilator and air lifted him to Charleston SC where we are now and he is on full life support.<br />His diagnosis is pulmonary vein stenosis. Priceless needs a heart and lung transplant but before that he needs surgery to enlarge the veins leading to his heart and lungs. Priceless is in critical condition.<br />We live in Columbia, SC and the baby is now in Charleston about 120 miles away from home. .  Tamara is an awesome mom whose three other children could possibly not breath without her because they are all so full of love for one and other.  The doctors are saying  this will be a minimum of 30 days of hospitalization to begin with. Due to the seriousness of Prices condition the father will be out of work for an unexpected period of time. So world please if you can give a little  to help this family thru this travesty we will all be forever grateful and we will pay it forward anytime the opportunity arises in our midst .<br />The drs are meeting today to discuss options which are very limited Tamara is so broken and afraid for her sweet baby!
