<div>Hello, my name is Jordan. On May 7th, my 16-month-old son, Noah Sage, began a fight for his life.

<div>In the past 16 months, we have watched our beautiful, rambunctious, curious son struggle to thrive. Some things we could brush off as a normal variation–all kids do things at a different pace–but as he grew older, it became apparent that something was wrong. He was hitting all his milestones late until he wasn’t hitting them at all. He stopped gaining weight, he stopped growing in height, and he began to lose some of the skills that he’d worked so hard to develop in the first place.

<div>“Well, he is sick a lot,” we told ourselves, noting that he’d been congested non-stop since November 2023, when his twin sisters began attending daycare. Moreover, he’d had five ear infections in as many months, so maybe he had difficulty hearing and needed tubes in his ears.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>In February, during an especially bad round of the crud, I noticed that Noah was having pauses in his breathing while asleep. I contacted our doctor’s office but was told that if the pauses didn’t last longer than 10 seconds and he didn’t turn blue, there was nothing to worry about. I put that information in the back of my mind and continued on.

<div>On April 23rd, Noah had his 15-month appointment where I was able to express my concerns once again about his weight and apparent developmental delays. By this point, he hadn’t gained but a few ounces since his 12-month appointment and he didn’t grow any taller. He’d officially fallen off of his growth chart. “Let’s give him another month,” his doctor said, to see if he grew at all, and if not, we’d start working him up for Failure to Thrive (FTT).

<div>I agreed though I couldn’t help but bring up this thing that had been nagging me for months. “I think he has sleep apnea, could that be causing some of his issues?”
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>So, we left the appointment with a referral to an ENT to talk about putting tubes in his ears and possible sleep apnea, and with a plan to push calorie-dense foods in the hopes that he’d finally grow a little.
</div>

</div>
<div>Two weeks later Noah was in the PICU.

<div>The week of May 3rd, Noah’s sister Callie contracted a virus that was causing her a significant amount of pain in her mouth and throat. Around that same time, Noah began waking multiple times throughout the night screaming. It felt like it was every twenty minutes. This was a huge change from his usual self; he’s typically a great sleeper, sleeping 12 hours straight through the night. So, concerned, I took him to the doctor. “He has a sore throat,” she said. “He probably has what Callie has.” I took him back home, but again, something was nagging me.

<div>The next several nights were more of the same. He woke again and again and again, all throughout the night, sitting up to scream before flopping over and falling back asleep. Each day I grew a little more worried.
</div>

</div>
<div>On Sunday, the 5th, while Noah was napping, I noticed that the pauses in his breathing were a lot longer. Every time his chest didn’t rise, I held my breath as well, wondering how in the world this could be considered normal. I recorded a video of him and counted the seconds. 10… 15… I contacted the nurse line of his pediatrician and we were advised to take him to the emergency department.

<div>Perhaps the most ironic part of all of this is that I am a Registered Nurse. I stopped working at the bedside in 2020, but the fact remains that I am a licensed, trained medical professional with experience working in the emergency department. So I knew there was no way the ED was going to take this seriously. When Noah is awake he seems perfect, if not a little snotty and congested all the time. When we got there they checked his oxygen levels: 100% on room air. But he was awake. I asked them if they wanted to check while he was asleep. They did not. They sent us home. Their discharge diagnosis was “runny nose.”

<div>On Monday, Noah was sleepy. He’d spent another night screaming. Another night probably having these pauses. He wasn’t well. I considered bringing him back to the doctor. But what were they going to do? I’d been told twice already that he was fine. After nap time Noah seemed better so we held on for another day.
</div>

</div>
<div>On Tuesday, May 7th, 2024, Noah stopped breathing in my arms. He turned completely grey. My heart stopped. I dropped his head in my lap, my hands shaking as I prepared to place him on the firm ground and begin giving him rescue breaths. If he didn’t breathe again, I would have to start CPR. <em>“30 chest compressions, two fingers, 1.5 inches in depth, two breaths, repeat,” </em>I reminded myself.
</div>

<div>After what seemed like forever, he sucked in one pitiful breath after another. Slowly, his color returned. But this time, I had been recording. I finally had the proof they claimed I needed.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>He slept all morning. Afraid to take him back to the ER only to be turned away, I brought him to his pediatrician in the hopes that we could be directly admitted. She was shocked by his condition. She tried to direct admit us. They denied him. “Send him to the ENT first,” they said. So I drove my son to the ENT. The ENT took one look at him and said he would direct admit him to the PICU (pediatric intensive care unit). They denied him. “Send him to the ED,” they said. So I took him to the main emergency department for our “local” hospital (one hour away—we live in the sticks) and they took one look at him and called a pediatric rapid response.
</div>

<div>I heard the one phrase every nurse hopes they never, <em>ever</em>, have to hear about one of their loved ones, let alone their <em>child</em>.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>One nurse scooped Noah up and took off down the hall, the other leaned into me with her hand resting softly on my back. “Okay Mama,” she said, “we’re going to have a lot of friends joining us.”
</div>

<div>I couldn’t breathe. I navigated the stroller through the crowded ER hallway like I was pushing through molasses. <em>“When they start coding him,” </em>I thought, <em>“tell them you’re a nurse. Tell them you’re a nurse so they explain it all to you. Tell them you’ll understand. Tell them you want to know everything that’s happening. When they start coding him, tell them you’re a nurse—” </em>I repeated it a hundred times in the fifteen seconds it took us to reach the resuscitation bay, a large bright white room lined with half-open drawers spilling with IV-start kits and lab tubes and gauze, trauma kits and splints and gowns to catch the blood spatter from trauma patients. It was nearly identical to the ones I used to work in. Twenty focused healthcare professionals crowded around a gurney with my tiny baby in the middle of it, his eyes wide, his little fingers curled at his lips in the ASL sign for eat.

<div>It was so absurd I couldn’t help but let out a hysterical chuckle as everyone turned to look at me. I needed to give a rapid report, something I’d done countless times for my patients. But when it came to my own child, I was lost. My brain was a constant buzz, the thoughts cycling so fast it was impossible to hold on to one. “I’m sorry,” I said, “I’m a bit overwhelmed.”
</div>

<div>But I found the words, I pulled out the video, “Well, that’s terrifying,” the ER doc said. W<em>ell, no sh*t Sherlock, </em>I wanted to scream. But I only nodded. I could only plead that they help us this time. <em>Please</em>.
</div>

</div>
<div>Noah was admitted to the PICU. He was started on high-flow helium and oxygen, given IV steroids and nasal steroids and fluids and the doctors buzzed in and out listening to him over and over. His oxygen was dropping with every pause. Into the 70’s. The 60’s. They looked at the photo. “His oxygen was probably in the 40’s here,” they said.

<div>It all made sense. Noah was small and developmentally delayed because his body was working so hard just to keep him alive while he slept, that he had nothing left over to grow or learn.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Noah has obstructive sleep apnea and needs surgery to remove his tonsils and adenoids, but he’s too young and too little to have his tonsils removed, and he tested positive for rhinovirus which meant that he was too close to a viral infection to safely undergo general anesthesia. We would need to wait 4-6 weeks after his acute infection.
</div>

<div>So we nursed him back from the virus which took a huge toll on him. He lost over a pound and really struggled to heal. But we did it. The doctors wanted to see what he was like at baseline. They didn’t want to send him home on oxygen. But unfortunately, Noah’s baseline is severe. He was discharged on 1-2L of O2 at night and during naps.
</div>

<div>I was scared because there was still something nagging at me. I felt like it would be impossible to keep him home safely, but at that point, his surgery wouldn’t happen for weeks. He couldn’t stay in the hospital. I knew that it would be a risk to take him home to live with his sisters who bring him a new bug every few weeks from school. But we didn’t have a choice. So we went home.

<div>We didn’t make it a week before the 2L of oxygen was no longer sufficient. He was dropping into the 70’s even on 3L.
</div>

<div>For many reasons, a few days later we found a way to get him to Chapel Hill. He’s been admitted ever since (about two weeks at the point of this posting). Since this most recent admission, we have learned a lot about little Noah. He has obstructive sleep apnea but also some level of a central apnea component in addition to low tone. There is concern for a genetic condition so he’s being tested for that.

</div>
<div>Additionally, he is a sort of medical mystery which has made him quite popular here. His condition has only worsened over time. His desaturations now regularly reach the 40’s and 50’s every few seconds while he’s asleep. This is an extremely severe case that is incongruent with the typical presentation of sleep apnea and the distance from the rhinovirus which should have led to gradual improvement.

<div>Because of this, he requires a full-face BIPAP at night to breathe because no other device is sufficient and his blood becomes acidic from retaining carbon dioxide in his sleep. If he continues to worsen, the only other solution would be to place a tracheostomy so that he could have a tube deliver air below his obstructions without intubating him and putting him into a medically induced coma. I pray every day that it doesn’t come to that.

<div>But, there is no way to safely send toddlers home on this type of breathing machine. So we were gearing up to stay in the hospital until June 17th when he would have had his surgery. What is typically a fairly routine procedure has become a lot more complicated due to the severity of his airway and condition. There is a possibility that he will be on a ventilator for a few days post-op.
</div>

</div>
<div>Unfortunately, two days ago Noah spiked a fever. They tested him and he’s somehow contracted a new, different respiratory virus since being admitted. This is devastating news. Not only has this continued to worsen his condition, but the surgery will now be postponed another 6 weeks.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>That means 6 more weeks in the hospital, not counting the time it takes for him to reach a point of being able to safely go home after surgery.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>I never imagined writing something like this. Asking for something like this. But the past month of hospitalizations has taken such a toll on my family. My husband is working day and night to single-handedly run our seasonal business, my mom and mother-in-law have been traveling for hours and hours to switch off watching my twins who are sad and confused about where Mommy and Noah went, and I have been with Noah every step of the way.
</div>

</div>
<div>But 6 more weeks of this is truly a near-impossible task. Between the medical costs, parking, tolls driving back and forth, business losses from my husband needing to be everywhere at once, additional child care for my twins, gas, food, and lodging while we wait for a spot to open up at the Ronald McDonald House, the financial toll on us has been, and will be, astronomical.
</div>

</div>
<div>Additionally, it is still our fervent hope that Noah will somehow be able to be discharged for a while in the interim before surgery, if this happens, we will not be able to stay at the Ronald McDonald house (if we ever get a spot), and we will need to find a temporary rental to keep Noah close to the hospital in case of an emergency.
</div>

</div>
<div>We are extremely blessed to have such supportive friends and family who have given countless hours of their time to help us, but the road has only just begun. Similarly, we are blessed in the fact that Noah will be okay. This is a test, but it is one we can pass with flying colors.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>So, that’s our story. And this is our little Noah Sage. A beautiful, sweet, strong little boy who we would do anything for. That we are doing everything for.
</div>

<div>I set the goal at 5k dollars in anticipation of all the costs to come in addition to the credit card debt we’ve already begun to accumulate due to the last month, but any amount will help us tremendously.

I now have to take care of my little sister while attending college and working a job to pay the bills. Unfortunately being a full time student does not allow me to work the amount of hours to fully pay the bills and take care of my sister. I’m new to being an adult and lack a lot of knowledge and experience on bills. My mom made sure I’d never had to pay a bill and now I have to pay all. NYC rent alone is just ridiculous which is why I seek help. I ask for help not for me but for my sister not to suffer because I couldn’t do more. Any help would  be very much appreciated.</font>

My name is Mari Copeny, I’m a 12 year old from Flint, Michigan. You may know me as Little Miss Flint. I have been fighting to ensure my community has access to clean safe water since I was 8 years old. <br /><img src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/40432464_1565245639481535_r.jpeg" alt="40432464_1565245639481535_r.jpeg" width="100%" media_type="3" /><br /><br />Ever since April 2014 my community has been faced with a lead crisis that we are still recovering from. <br /><br /><img src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/40432464_1565239848895898_r.jpeg" alt="40432464_1565239848895898_r.jpeg" width="100%" media_type="3" /><br /><br /><br />What’s even worse is that Flint is not the only community dealing with a water crisis. Across the country there are cities and communities being faced with their own water crisis, some have water even more toxic then Flint. <br /><br />Newark, NJ <br />Pittsburg, PN <br />NYC<br /><br /><br /><br />This is why I want to bring clean water not to just my community but to other communities across the country that are facing their own water crisis. <br /><br /><img src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/40432464_1565245305962296_r.jpeg" alt="40432464_1565245305962296_r.jpeg" width="100%" media_type="3" /><br /><br /><br />For these campaigns, I’m partnering with a socially-responsible water filtration company to bring state of the art water filters to communities nationwide that are impacted by poor water quality. The water filtration approach has three main advantages over bottled water:<br /><br /><br />1. <strong>Cost of Impact</strong>: Every dollar donated to this campaign will provide over 160 bottles worth of safe drinking water. This has 15x the impact of donating to bottled water campaigns. <br /><br />2. <strong>Time</strong>: In Flint, I see that people are spending hours in line to receive donations bottled water. By giving people the ability to have safe water, on demand in their home, they won’t have to take time off from work or spend their weekends lined up to get bottled water. <br /><br />3. <strong>Environmental Impact</strong>: While bottled water can be a good solution for immediate fix to a crisis, it is not a sustainable fix when the world is drowning in plastic pollution. <br /><br /><strong>Flint Water Crisis Background</strong> <br />The Flint Water Crisis began in 2014 when the drinking water source for the city of Flint, Michigan was changed from pre-treated water from Detroit to the Flint River and treated in the Flint Water Treatment Plant. The treatment plant was not equipped with the proper equipment to treat the water (which would have cost around $100 a day), and the river water damaged the pipes allowing lead and bacteria to get into the water. For month’s local officials and the media claimed the water was fine and that the residents were overreacting, even as scientist began to uncover just how bad the water crisis was. Many homes had water comparable to toxic waste.<br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><strong>“Little Miss Flint” Background </strong><br />Through my previous water donation campaigns, I was able to donate over ONE MILLION bottles of water to families impacted by the Flint Lead Crisis. My community needed water they could trust and bottled water was the only resource for drinking water that many in my community trusted. For my new donation campaign, my team has partnered with a socially-responsible water filtration company, which will allow us to maximize the impact of donated funds and eliminate the single use plastic waste that is associated with bottled water.<br /><br /><img src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/40432464_156524176846158_r.jpeg" alt="40432464_156524176846158_r.jpeg" width="100%" media_type="3" /><br /><br /><strong>Socially-Responsible Corporate Partner Background </strong><br />Hydroviv was Founded by a Ph.D. Chemist as a charitable response to the Flint Lead Crisis in 2015. Hydroviv was called out by The Chicago Tribune and BBC as the first water filter “company” to develop and donate high-capacity lead removal filters to families &amp; child-centric organizations in Flint. Four years later, Hydroviv now designs &amp; builds custom water filters for people around the US, and makes these products available to the public at a fraction of the cost of comparable systems. Hydroviv recently appeared on ABC’s Shark Tank where Mark Cuban praised Hydroviv’s charitable roots as “doing well by doing good.” For this campaign, Hydroviv has agreed to provide their premium filters at their break-even cost.

Little Miss Flint Clean Water Fund

In August 2020, <a href="https://melanininya.com" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Melanin in YA</a> , an online database for all things Black in traditional young adult publishing, soft launched. With the help of supporters, Melanin in YA was able to buy its domain, cover hosting fees, hire a graphic designer, and get every YA book in stock at a local B&amp;N to give away to readers. Since its official launch this past January 2021, plans for Melanin in YA have expanded and Melanin in YA is now registered as an LLC! <br /><br /><strong>What is Melanin in YA?</strong><br /><br />Melanin in YA is the go-to resource for readers and professionals alike.  The information we provide introduces international audiences to the work of Black creatives in the traditional young adult publishing space. Melanin in YA aims to become the ultimate database for every Young Adult book that’s ever been traditionally published. The database gives readers across the globe new avenues for inspiration and entertainment. The database provides instant access to historical knowledge and acts as a cross-referencing tool for students, teachers, and librarians researching Black young adult writers. The database provides easy access to contact information for industry professionals including but not limited to program administrators for conventions across the United States.<br /><br />Melanin in YA was founded in response to a culmination of events showcasing the lack of support for the Black community, specifically in the publishing industry, particularly in the young adult age category. With an increase in statements from publishers supporting Black Lives and zero follow through reflecting in these company practices of traditionally excluding and undeserving the Black community, accountability was necessary. With that, Melanin in YA was born. The mission for Melanin in YA is to provide a hub of information to amplify Black voices, making this a no excuses database in the YA space. <br /><br />Since its launch as a website, Melanin in YA has been featured in <a href="https://www.publishersweekly.com/pw/by-topic/childrens/childrens-industry-news/article/84504-melanin-in-ya-database-promotes-black-voices.html" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Publishers Weekly</a> and The Skimm as well as featured on the <a href="https://soundcloud.com/ya-podcast/116-melanin-in-ya-with-melody-simpson" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">YA Podcast</a> and <a href="https://www.stitcher.com/show/everything-is-canon/episode/everything-is-canon-melanin-in-ya-79743048" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Everything is Canon Podcast</a> . <br /><br /><strong>How will Melanin in YA be self-sustaining?</strong><br /><br />Melanin in YA aims to open an online merchandise shop, sell ad space, as well as provide more in depth data and hidden directories behind a paywall (which currently is available to Patreon and newsletter subscribers only). <br /><br />The products Melanin in YA will create for those who reside in the United States are intended to spread awareness about the Melanin in YA brand which amplifies Black authors in the young adult publishing space. Melanin in YA Expansion

<p>Darnella Frazier, the brave young woman who filmed the murder of George Floyd, deserves peace and healing. In addition to the trauma of watching a black man be murdered by police, she has had to deal with trolls, bullies and ignorant people harassing her online. It took unbelievable courage for her to stand there and bear witness to such an awful tragedy. We all have our roles to play in the revolution against white supremacy. Darnella played an important one and should be uplifted, not shamed.

<p>Something broke. This country will never be the same. And in the midst of our rage and pain, we cannot let this young black woman become a casualty. 
</p>

<p>George Floyd paid the ultimate price of being black in this country. But let us not forget that a CHILD had to be the eyes for this nation. A CHILD paid the price of her innocence, her well-being, her hope, so that white people would start to wake the f-$&amp; up. And people are going out of their way to break her spirit?!
</p>

<p>White folks: You woke now? Stay woke. You mad? Stay mad. You care about Black Lives? Well we finna care about Darnella, too.

<p>My mother is going to lose her house of 30 years. She is 81 and a heart patient. She wants to stay here until her final days and the reverse mortgage company has us upside down. They are asking for the house unless we pay.

In June 2022, if Dawn still has not initiated any official legal action, we'll be donating the funds (less our own legal fees) to a charity or organization promoting racial justice. Thanks again for your donations and your support. &lt;3<br /><br />********UPDATE********<br /><br />Another literary community member has received a cease &amp; desist letter from Meyer Njus Tanick on behalf of Dawn Frederick. We are adding Kay Taylor Rea to our defense and to this open letter.<br /><br /><br />********UPDATE********<br /><br />Unfortunately, we have to update our campaign to include Laura Zats, founder and literary agent of Headwater Literary Management and co-host of the award-winning Print Run podcast. Dawn Frederick’s lawyers sent Laura a cease &amp; desist letter on June 11, 2020, less than 24 hours after our statement went public, threatening legal action for Laura’s retweets.<br /><br /><br />********THE STORY********<br /><br />We are raising money for a legal defense fund in response to cease &amp; desist letters we received from literary agent Dawn Frederick's lawyers, claiming "accusations that she is racist" when we criticized her for calling the police on "looters" in St. Paul, MN.  If she proceeds with this case, we will need help defending ourselves. <br /><br />Here is our open letter response to Dawn: <br /><br />On June 8, 2020, we received cease and desist letters from a lawyer on behalf of Dawn Frederick, literary agent and founder of Red Sofa Literary. The letters demanded that we delete our respective posts regarding Dawn’s actions and further, publish retractions stating that “she did not make any racist or other improper statements,” validating the behaviors that we had previously condemned. Failing this, we were told Dawn will pursue legal action against us for defamation. We interpret these demands as an attempt to not only silence us, but to compel us to lie for her. We refuse.<br /><br />After we and others spoke out against her tweets, Dawn posted a public apology on her website owning up to her wrongdoing, but then turned around to privately send threatening letters to people who spoke up. In that apology, Dawn admitted that her actions were “careless,” that “[t]he authors and agents who may now question whether or not we share the same ideals have every right to feel this way,” and that her “actions were tone-deaf and the product of [her] own privilege.” That she is now threatening to sue people for agreeing with her apology makes it impossible to interpret the apology as anything but insincere. So, which is it, Dawn? You said in your apology that you would “work to be better.” Is this what “better” looks like?<br /><br />Our industry has been persistently plagued by systemic issues of racism, discrimination, and failures of inclusion, despite repeated efforts by the literary community (led by Black women) toward holistic and long-lasting improvement. The recent global uprising of protests against the state-sanctioned murders of Black people have brought heightened awareness to the vast shortcomings in publishing, leading to long overdue reckonings and demands for accountability. But too many voices continue to be suppressed by people in positions of privilege and power who exploit our fears of retaliation and career ruination. <br /><br />We are making this public because the book industry still lacks the necessary transparency to fully see and address the many faults in our whole institution. We want to push back against these intimidation tactics so that we can help foster an environment where we can speak our truth about racist practices and other insidiously problematic behaviors without fear of retribution. We need to continue to call these things out. And we need to see people accept responsibility and engage in actual growth, not pandering.<br /><br />We ask for the community’s support in breaking this cycle of silence. This is not just about one agent, one threat, one voice, but about delegitimizing threats of lawsuits as tools of silencing overall. We hope that this open letter, also sent to her lawyers directly, will serve as a next step on the long journey to sustained change. We will not comply with Dawn’s demands and as such, we are asking for donations to our legal defense fund. We sincerely hope that Dawn is truly committed to being “better” and will decline to pursue these baseless defamation cases against us--she will lose. If she chooses to drop this, all funds raised will be donated to the Minnesota Freedom Fund. A Bookish Legal Defense Fund

Hi all. I know this is a terrible time for everyone, so thank you for taking the time to read about our family's situation. It means a lot.  :) I'm here today because we are being evicted May 1st and face homelessness during a global pandemic. Because we have special needs kids, my self and two of them are immunocomprimised. Because we have devoted service animal pets. Because we are scared.<br /><br />For those who don't know me, I'm the mother of five kids, 2 with autism/depression/anxiety and processing disorders, 3 with depression and anxiety, and we have had the worst string of luck the past couple of years! I'm also an author of children's books and p/t home care worker for the elderly, currently living in Maine.  We are low-income and live paycheck to paycheck like many, and now  that our landlords want their house back (for their oldest child in need of housing) during a pandemic of epic proportions, we are desperate for a house to house 7, 2 dogs, and a few cats. We've searched for month to month housing near the kids' schools, but have found none we can afford. <br /><br />***and we don't qualify for the no evictions during pandemic thing because it's not due to non-payment or anything they did; we have a month-to-month lease, so as far as I know in maine anyway they can still give us the boot.<br /><br />School for my kids is out until April 27th and there's no way to know now when/if they'll go back this year. But I'd like a place close enough to my kids' schools to drive them if/when it returns. The only solution I can come up with is to rent an AirBnB for us and pets until mid June when school would potentially let out for summer, which would cost at least 6300$ from May 1st to June 22ndish.  Until we can find a house to rent, which would be fantastic! In that case, we'd need first, last, and security, which would amount to about the same. <br /><br />If we don't find housing here, two things could happen:<br /><br />*we'd have to take my immunocomprimised family  to the Covid 19 capital of the world, NYC, to stay with my mother in law until her house sells. Which would mean we'd have a dangerous chance of getting the virus, and if school returns, my kids would not graduate as they'd be in another state. My husband would need to stay in Maine (somewhere??? but that's a problem for another day) and the family would break up.<br /><br />*or, we would be homeless and have to give our pets away. :( I just cannot even think about this, because we're so stressed about getting sick AND about being homeless AND about my husband losing his job  AND about literally everything. It's just been too much. My kids and I have been panicking about so many different things. My autoimmune diseases are flaring out of control.<br /><br />Like I said, I know this is such a stressful time for everyone, so it means a lot that you're here reading this now.
