<div>On Saturday, August 16th, 2025, heaven gained another angel. Our beloved David Quinones, a cherished Father, Grandfather, Uncle, and Cousin, passed away unexpectedly from a suspected heart attack while at home. This heartbreaking event was witnessed by his daughter, son-in-law, and grandchildren who lived with him. The trauma of this sudden loss is now compounded by the realization that they have no means to lay their beloved to rest.

<div>At the time of his death, David had not yet secured life insurance following the untimely passing of his wife almost three years ago. Since her passing, it was evident that there was a void in his life, and he longed for her constantly. He would often sit on his favorite bench outside, reminiscing about the life they shared. In my heart, I believe he died of a broken heart, and now he is reunited with his beloved in the hereafter.

<div>David was one of the lights of our family. He was the Universal Studios monster-loving, fall and Halloween festivities-enjoying, jokester who brought joy to everyone around him. The house will never be the same without him. There was a time when Uncle Dave and Aunt Joni lived with me due to an issue with their house. During that period, I developed a profound respect for him. The lengths he went to ensure my home was filled with happiness while he stayed with us are immeasurable and will always be among my fondest memories of him. He was one of the friendliest and most pleasant people I have ever known, and I am grateful to have called him Uncle.

Emma and Bella's Fund for Eliezer's Memorial

This beautiful 21-year-old young woman was a graduate of Union City High School and was currently a junior at William Paterson University, studying to become a nurse. Unfortunately, Omelly became the latest victim of gun violence when she was killed in a senseless domestic incident on March 22, 2022. Her family and friends are absolutely devastated by the sudden loss of their beloved daughter, sister, and friend. She leaves behind her mother, Juana Dominguez, her brothers Gregory and Isaiah, and her stepfather Angel Carrion.<br /><br />As a result of this tragedy, the family needs financial help to cover the funeral costs and temporary living expenses. Anything you can give will be greatly appreciated.

For the last two years he fought a long battle with Gastroparesis. Their lives have changed greatly due to his illness that effected his lifestyle and family life. Throughout it all he remained the kindhearted, loving, caring person we all knew him to be. Family life was most important to Pete. He loved spending time at home with his family and making new memories year after year. He worked very hard during his career as a Security Officer for the Perth Amboy Board of Education. He will be extremely missed by his family and friends.

<div>Gabby is currently a senior at the Perth Amboy High School. Her education has always been paramount to both her parents and herself. Gabby has worked very hard in her AP courses, an avid soccer player, and active in her community throughout the years. It is with heavy hearts that we have to mourn the sudden and unexpected passing of "Everyone's Favorite Brother" Gary Morris Jr. Fifteen years ago Gary entered the Greek world and took it by storm. Since the beginning, he has been a constant ray of light and joy. He filled any room he entered with enough positive energy to power the world. If Brotherhood and Unity had pictures next to them they would be accompanied by that big infectious smile we have come to know and love. He represented our community and so many others with PRIDE and a style that is unmatched. <br /><br />"You know you're my favorite Brother, right?" was his most well known phrase because he jokingly would say it to everyone even changing it up for sisters and other Greeks. But what has come to be his most famous joke always turned out to be more than just words for him. This is because he treated you in a way that made those words true for each individual. Gary was an individual that would go out of his way to make you feel loved whether he's known you for 20 years or 20 mins. Now is the time to return that favor and help his family in need.<br /><br />With Gary's unexpected passing, an unexpected cost has fallen upon his family. This has been a trying year plus for all of us. We are calling on everyone that has been touched by our new angel to step up and show his family how important and affected we are by this great loss. Gary was our family, we as LSU and Upsilons are a family and our Brother needs us to show up him the way that he showed for so many of us throughout the years. Let's come together for Gary and his family and send this great man off properly, not as a celebration of his life but as a show of appreciation for the opportunity we all had to be his favorite Brother. Let's make sure he knows all of that one last time...<br /><br />Not only has Gary impacted so many within his fraternal organization, but he also touched many lives in his career of aviation. Gary started his flight attendant career with Delta in 2014 and was a dear friend to many with a heart, laugh, and smile that could light up the entire airplane. He had a talent for making others feel special and his passengers and fellow crew loved his stellar service, leadership skills, and his amazing work ethic. Gary was an aviation guru and knew pretty much everything there was to know about flying. He loved traveling and shared many beautiful memories with loved ones in his many travels. He spent 7 years with his family away from home, at Delta. Remembering our Favorite Brother, Gary Morris Jr.

Valdemar Baltazar Andrezo, 46, of Fords, passed away peacefully surround by loving family and friends on February 8, 2021. Valdemar was born September 28, 1974 to Joaquim and Clarisse Andrezo, in Serra Do Bouro, Caldas Da Rainha, Portugal. Valdemar was raised in Perth Amboy, New Jersey before settling down in Fords, New Jersey. Valdemar worked for Hackensack Meridian Perth Amboy Division once known as Raritan Bay Medical Center, for over 24 years as a<br /><br />Sergeant Security Guard. Valdemar was the former president and a lifetime member of the Portuguese Sporting Club located in Perth Amboy, NJ. Valdemar was a Volunteer Fire Fighter in Perth Amboy, NJ; and a part of the Perth Amboy Rescue Squad for almost 30 years. <br /><br /><br />Valdemar is predeceased by his father, Joaquim Luis Dos Santos Andreso. <br />He leaves behind his loving mother, Clarisse Maria Martins Baltazar Andreso; his two beloved daughters, Izabella Alise Andrezo and Kristina M. Ruiz; his beloved son, Kristian A. Ruiz; his caring sister, Ana Cristina Andrezo; his two nephews, Bryan Petrosino and Micheal Custodio; and his niece, Kimberly Petrosino.  <br /><br /> <br /><br /> <br /><br />Family and friends may visit Friday, February 12, 2021, 4pm – 7pm at the Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Avenue, Fords. Valdemar's Final Resting Place

David and Kate Ganz are devoted teachers and parents to two young daughters, Teagan and Emerson. In early 2020, they were thrilled to learn that they were pregnant with their third child, Rowan. Tragically, they lost Rowan to a missed miscarriage at 20 weeks in the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.<br /><br />But by late summer 2020, they were thrilled to learn that they were pregnant with a baby boy! Because of the perfect storm of a high risk pregnancy and the pandemic, Kate was in and out of the hospital, teaching virtually from her hospital bed to save her limited sick days as a public school teacher. Despite near bed rest, she was diagnosed at 23 weeks with a placental abruption, a potentially life-threatening condition for both mom and baby. Kate underwent intense treatment to save the baby’s life, giving birth to Kennedy Robert Ganz on January 27, 2021 at only 24 weeks, 3 days.<br /><br />At birth, Kennedy weighed just 800 grams and measured a tiny 31.5 centimeters in length. While mom and baby are holding steady as of February 1, 2021, Kennedy has a long road ahead of him with potential lifelong health conditions.<br /><br />That’s why the Ganz’s need your help.<br /><br />Throughout Kate’s difficult pregnancy, David and Kate both continued their work as teachers with David also working a second full-time job at Trader Joe’s to support the family (before her difficult pregnancy, Kate was working a second full-time job at Trader Joe’s, as well). Due to the ongoing threat of COVID-19, neither David nor Kate are allowed to work at Trader Joe’s for the foreseeable future with Kate also having to take a maternity leave from her teaching position instead of teaching virtually to keep micro-preemie Kennedy healthy. With their usual 4 salaries down to 1, an unforeseen amount of medical bills ahead of them, daycare/preschool costs, and the usual high cost of living in New Jersey, the Ganz’s could REALLY use your help and support. Our beloved mother of three, wife, and heart of our family, Nurys Garcia, has been battling cancer for the last seven years. She is so very loved by us and by those who know her, bringing light to so many. <br /><br />She has sacrificed beyond measure to ensure she has done everything possible to heal. Many, many doctors, tests, protocols, research, extreme lifestyle/diet changes, appointments, seminars, mentors, and books later, her condition is at a turning point. She is now battling for her life.<br /><br />A test result on Christmas Eve rendered our family devastated when a worst case scenario became a reality. Her three tumors significantly grew and others metastasized, leaving her with seven tumors to fight against. <br /> <br />Our family humbly asks for your help during this difficult time. Given the current situation with the pandemic and the cost of treatment, our family needs financial assistance. The fundraising goal is the minimum amount needed for Nurys to access treatment. We hope for successful results and will be eternally grateful for any help. Help Nurys Fight Cancer

Many of you may or may not be aware of the current situation with my sister Alexandra Mansonet-Cross (aka) Sandy. In 2016 she was involved in a vehicular accident that claimed the life of a pedestrian.  At the time of the accident Sandy was not texting, speeding or driving recklessly, she did take her eyes off the road to adjust her defroster and ultimately rear ended a car that was stopped to allow Mrs. Wang to cross. My sister takes full responsibility for the death of Mrs. Wang and she will have to live with that fact for the rest of her life. <br /><br />Sandy voluntarily cooperated with the investigating officers at the scene without council.  Vehicular homicide with the use of a cellular device charges were brought up against her and she was offered a plea of 3-5 years if she admitted guilt.  Sandy knew she was not texting at the time of the accident but was in fact turning on her rear defroster and was not going to accept the plea offered to her because she was not guilty.   <br /><br />Unfortunately, a Jury of her Peers found her guilty and she has now been convicted of Vehicular Homicide with the use of a cellular device; on March 27, 2020, she could be sentenced to a minimum of 5 years to a maximum of 10 years in prison. <br /><br />Those of you who know my sister know that she has dedicated her whole life to helping others, not only her friends and family but anyone in need. She has done so much for her community, church and has helped develop so many different programs for the youth in Perth Amboy and surrounding towns.     <br /><br />We truly believe that Sandy does not deserve to be incarcerated for an accident.  This was truly a careless accident, not a reckless one. There will be no benefit from her being imprisoned and it will not restore life to Mrs. Wang.  Perhaps a better way for her to serve her time and honor the life of Mrs. Wang could be developing a program that allows her to use her voice to help spread awareness to our youth about the dangers of distracted driving by visiting schools.  <br /><br />We are setting up this GoFundMe page to try and raise money so we could file a motion of appeal with the court system on the day of sentencing and hopefully overturn the verdict and/or reduce her sentence.  Please consider helping us by donating, any amount would be greatly appreciated and will help us…help Sandy.<br /><br />*Please feel free to share*

Nicholas James Superior, 20, also known as “Soup” of Keansburg, passed away, Saturday, January 21, 2017. He is survived by his parents, George and Kathleen Superior; his two sisters, Allison Superior, Jessica Povolo and her husband Sean Collier; his grandfather James Doherty; and his grandmother Audrey Superior. He was loved by several aunts, uncles, and cousins, as well as countless friends, whom he loved right back. <br /><br />"Nick was the best brother, son, friend, &amp; family member anyone could ask for. We please ask that you keep your thoughts &amp; prayers with our family as our breaking hearts begin their journey towards amendment. Our beloved Upsilon, Greek Family, and friends of Hans Forbes:<br /><br /> On 12/4/15 Hans was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit for viral meningitis where he has since remained. While being treated for meningitis, Hans was also diagnosed with an additional infection which caused his health to rapidly deteriorate. Initially, it was unclear what the second infection was. However, doctors have now diagnosed Hans with Guillain Barré Syndrome. Guillain Barré Syndrome is a rare syndrome which will require lots of recovery and rehabilitation time for Hans throughout the course of treatment. We continue to keep Hans and his family in our thoughts and prayers and hope for a speedy recovery. <br /><br /> While Hans is staying in good spirits and attempting to verbally communicate as best he can, it has been a struggle for not just him, but his mother and sister who have been by his side in a South Jersey hospital-traveling from North Jersey.<br /><br /> We ask everyone to please come together during Hans' time of need, and help ease his family's burden, as the road ahead is still unclear. Any donation to help support Hans and his family is greatly appreciated, as medical and traveling expenses will continue to become a struggle for this family-especially during this holiday season.
