<div>We are so excited to have the opportunity to help people in Central America to better health! JWAC Foundation converted a used school bus to serve as a mobile medical clinic in 2022, now serving at Shalom Medical Clinic in Santiago Texacuango (San Salvador), El Salvador. It is assisting the people well, and now we are excited to have been given <strong>THREE existing mobile medical/dental clinics </strong>(like the one you see), donated to us by Medical Teams International (Portland, OR)!

<div>These were units that they were taken out of service for mechanical reasons (two need engines, one a transmission), and they handed them to us for the purpose of restoring them and delivering them to three medical missions, in El Salvador and in Honduras!

<div>We have people on hand here that are aware of all the restoration that needs to take place, we just need the funds in order to restore them to excellence, confident they will serve His children there for many years to come!

<div>Think of the lives that will be restored to health, the hope that people who have no means to pay for good medicine can soon have! Many children have no vaccinations, many pregnant mothers have not seen a physician…now this can change!
</div>

<div>The mechanical challenges come to just under $48,000 with replacements that have complete warranty, so will be strong and durable. Replacement as needed internally for healthy compressors, equipment for the dental operatories, exam tables for medical rooms, and generators to render power for all when not near a source for electrical connection.

<div>Then there is the challenge of driving these three some 2,700 miles to the U.S. border near Harlingen, TX…then on some 1,700 miles further to as far as Tegucigalpa, Honduras!

<div>We have volunteer drivers, bilingual experts, mechanics…nine of us lined up to offer our time to deliver these healing machines. Our target for over the border is mid-October. Working backward to all the steps needed to be able to meet those dates, we are in a serious time crunch to find the funds to complete the various tasks.

Restore Hope and Health in Central America thru JWAC

<div>In Honduras, the government schools closed in 2020 and 2021 because of Covid.

<div>The school is open, but the children only receive twelve hours of classes each

<div>week. Juticalpa is a proud community but poor. Families do not have tablets or

<div>the internet for online courses, and the children have fallen behind.
</div>

<div>We plan to build a community lab that will be open six days a week. It will have

<div>internet and twelve computers. ( Computers donated) Some adults living near the community have volunteered to teach STEM ( Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathmatics) classes and English.

<div>We have the land donated, and the community has volunteered to build it. We need

<div>the funds to purchase the materials to start building.

Computer Lab for Juticalpa Community

<div>In Honduras, I walked with a woman named Gisela to help fight malnutrition in children.  Gisela runs monthly nutritional clinics where she weighs and measures all children under the age of 5 in a community.  She distributes nutritional supplements to help mothers provide proper nutrition to their children.

WALK A MILE: Mile 9 - Honduras

Holden Andrew Miller was born this morning to loving parents Dylan and Cait. He, however, had a very traumatic entry into the world. Due to a detached placenta Holden was without oxygen for upwards of 30 minutes prior to his emergency birth. As a result the little 7lb 5oz fighter is now currently battling for his life at Tacoma General. Any prayers and good vibes are greatly appreciated. Unfortunately the medical bills from an emergency cesarean, transportation, and the life support currently keeping Holden with us begin to pile up. What was supposed to be a magical day for Holden and his parents has quickly become a situation filled with stress and unknowns as they anxiously await to hear the prognosis of their perfect little boy. The last thing any of us want is for that stress to be prolonged worrying about the coming medical bills. Please any help, even a dollar, would mean so much to Holden and his family right now.<br /><br />Thank you.

Help For Holden

This year begins the second annual Lemonade Stand, a venture begun by Mikayla to completely benefit 6 Stones’ Operation Back 2 School event in Bedford, Texas. In Mikayla’s words, “It all started when I was just a little girl. I had always wanted to do a lemonade stand, but I’d never gotten a chance to. When I finally started it here in Texas, I just got so many friends and I wanted to help other people who didn’t have as much stuff as everyone else does like school supplies. I have a feeling that education is really important, and I wanted to help with that.” ￼ <br /><br />And she did just that. Last year, Mikayla's Lemonade Stand raised over $1,000 from a variety of sources, becoming the youngest large donor in 6 Stones’ history. She did this by not only selling lemonade and pastries, but also by recruiting a few businesses to support her mission as well. She's quite the spokesperson! This year, it is Mikayla's hope to double, or even better, triple the amount she donates to 6 Stones. <br /><br />She started this GoFundMe campaign to help assist even more students in need for 2018. Operation Back 2 School provides students in need with a new backpack and school supplies and connects their parents with resources that help them all year long.<br /><br />•  Goal #1: $7,000 will provide supplies for 10 classrooms <br />• Goal #2: $14,000 will provide supplies for 20 classrooms <br />• Goal #3: $21,000 will provide supplies for 30 classrooms and additional funds will be used to start up Mikayla's own non profit organization to help underprivileged children and their families.   <br /><br />Mikayla asks that you help her help students in need by offering a little donation. Lemonade 4 6Stones

<img src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/31231054_1531336545368164_r.jpeg" alt="31231054_1531336545368164_r.jpeg" width="100%" media_type="3" /><br /><br />On Monday July, 9, 2018, Brandon and Abbie Wentzel welcomed their baby girl, Lilly Joy, into the world.  After Abbie's nurses/doctors had a difficult time finding a heart rate and then realizing that it was very low, Abbie had to perform a miracle and push with all of her might while the doctor used suction to deliver Lilly.  Lilly was not breathing when she was born and was rushed to the NICU.  Her cord was pinched, and it was evident that she had ingested meconium in the womb.  She was intubated and multiple tests were run, with results showing that Lilly's body was fighting a deadly Group B Strep infection.  That evening she was transferred to Seattle Children’s Hospital after she failed to improve, and is currently in a fight for her little life.  She has been septic and has the odds against her.  She has been struggling with low pH levels, a fluctuating heart rate and low blood pressure, as well as an inability for her blood to clot without medical intervention. She is in need of a miracle that only God can perform.  At this point, doctors are unsure of what long-term damage may have occurred. We know God can heal Lilly Joy fully and completely.  We pray He will.  Regardless, we trust His character; that He is always good, right and perfect; that He is always faithful, and that he loves Lilly more than we could ever fathom and that His unfailing love endures forever.<br /><br />As a community, we are coming together to ask for prayer and financial support to help the Wentzels through this very difficult time.  Not only would we like to help lift their financial burden from hospital bills, but we would also like to help raise money to cover the costs of repairs for their home, as it was damaged due to the failure of a main sewer line just a week prior to the birth of Lilly.  Unfortunately, insurance will not cover all of the costs, so we are asking our community to come together and lift this family up with prayer and generosity.  They approximated 18k in unexpected out of pocket expenses for the sewer line breakage.  All together, they have a very hefty financial burden.  Let's help to alleviate this worry, enabling them to focus solely on supporting their little girl. <br /><br />Thank the Lord for the mountains that have already been climbed!!  Please continue to pray fervently for the mountains ahead of Lilly, as she has a long road ahead of her!  We trust a BIG GOD who can overcome the impossible.  He is our sustainer! <br /><br />From Abbie: "When you pass through the waters, I will be with you;  and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you.  When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze."  Isaiah 43:2<br /><br />——<br /><br />Update 7/13/18:<br /><br />We want to thank everyone who has so generously donated to the Wentzel family. We are all amazed and beyond grateful for the outpouring of love and support the family has received from each and every one of you. We have officially met and exceeded our original goal of $30k!! As God has so graciously given Lilly another day, we want to continue to provide for that. The longer Lilly requires specialized care at Children’s Hospital, the more bills and expenses (such as childcare for their other children) add up. We have decided to raise the goal to $60k to continue to help provide for their needs and ease any financial burdens along the way.

Pray for Lilly Joy

Sheila and I have taught, created, and performed together for several years. Over this time, I have gotten to know her as a coworker, friend and mover. I am continously awed by the way she uses movement, humor, and absurdity to connect with other humans. I will be supporting Sheila through her surgeries and recovery and welcome you to do the same. I can't wait to dance with her again! <br /><br />Sheila lives with hip dysplasia, a congenital disease that means her hip sockets do not cover her femur heads; this causes the joint to become painful, unstable, and completely dysfunctional over time.  After years of successfully navigating her life and work as a professional dancer, teacher, and psychotherapist, Sheila's hips have finally given out; she is in need of multiple surgeries on both hips.  Sheila will be undergoing 4-6 hip surgeries in the next year, including bilateral Periacetabular Osteotomies (PAO) and labral reconstructions.  The PAO surgery is a major operation during which the surgeon breaks the pelvis in three places, rotates the acetabulum to cover the femur head, and then uses  multiple screws to reassemble the joint.  While this surgery will hopefully preserve Sheila's joint, the recovery process is long and arduous, involving inpatient hospitalization and several months of intensive physical therapy.   <br /><br />Because of the nature of her work as a psychotherapist and dancer, Sheila will be unable to work at all for at least 4 months, and will be off of full-time work for over a year.  The combination of loss of wages and medical/living expenses means that Sheila will need financial support in order to meet her basic and health needs over the next year.  Sheila's first surgeries (right side) will happen April 3rd and 17th 2018; ideally she will need the funds raised by May 1, 2018. If all goes well, she will have the left side operated on in December 2018.  The funds raised will help pay for medical and basic living expenses, and will enable Sheila to complete the rehabilitation required in order to be able to walk, work, and (hopefully) dance again. <br /><br />In addition to financial support, Sheila will also be in need of help with meals, transportation, and basic household chores.  She will also appreciate visitors once she is far enough along on her recovery.  <br /><br />Thank you so much for your support - it will be great to get Sheila back on her feet (literally and figuratively)!!
