<div>As his homeroom teacher, I have known Brendon only a short time but our experience together was incredibly memorable and significant. When Brendon joined my class, I was introduced to a furiously vibrating ball of energy, spirit, and soul. Brendon could rarely stop moving, always had an idea or thought to share, and yet showed maturity beyond his years in situations you would least expect it. He always had a story for us, and loved to showcase his hobbies or interests. He loved aircraft, especially fighter jets. He was interested in photography, and was proud of the photos he took. Brendon also cared about justice, and duty. He expressed a strong desire to serve in his country's armed forces, and took great pride in representing all service members and veterans as an Air Cadet. Most importantly though, even though he was my student, Brendon was also a teacher.

<div>Brendon taught many lessons on the value of patience and compassion, not by his words but in his actions and in the way we navigated our days together. There was always this quality of a truly good human being within him, someone you wanted to nurture, encourage, and help develop to their fullest. Brendon loved to share his knowledge, and his eyes would light up when he was able to play the role of the teacher with someone else in the classroom. I think in his heart, Brendon thrived most when being listened to. He would regularly surprise you with his depth of thinking or observations, and was never shy about sharing his life experiences. As the father of a child in the same grade, I felt privileged to be around Brendon because it was a great reminder of why it is so important to look beyond the surface, to see the potential of the young man beneath it and treat each day as a blank slate, each one an opportunity to be better - something we would all want for our children at school. At the same time, Brendon's presence would encourage us all to remember that every child is unique, and each student brings different experiences, challenges, and feelings to school every day. Not every day can be their best day, but we always have the opportunity to make it better for them as teachers, friends, and as a school family.

<div>Yet, despite what we do, many students arrive to school each day with a tremendous burden that we never realize or see. Unless we make the effort to ask, and to listen, some children will keep their burdens to themselves. And some are quite adept at making it seem like nothing is wrong, when in fact everything is. Scars are not always visible; the tragedy of Brendon's passing inspires all of us dedicated to his remembrance to ask these questions, and to listen patiently, with all your heart.

<div>The loss of a child is the single most unspeakable horror I think any parent can imagine. The purpose of this fundraiser is to provide support to a family that desperately needs compassion and care at this time, as they navigate life's hardest journey. I know from my own experience that these funds are crucial to help with bill payments, groceries, and easing life's other challenges as they arise, so I implore all of you - as members of the Percy Baxter School community, the town of Whitecourt, or other surrounding areas - to please contribute what you can in consideration of Brendon's memory.

<div>Hi there my name is Sonia, my friend Toni and I are looking to get some help for a very loving and caring family that would do anything for anyone. Back in June of 2025 we, the community of Whitecourt and Blue Ridge; lost a dear friend, a Mother, a Wife, a Daughter and so much more.

<div>They were at home when the family found Christina laying on the ground from a heart attack. Chris administered CPR while the family waited for the Ambulance to arrive, where the paramedics rushed her to the hospital. Later that night we got the call that we had been dreading, Christina had passed.

<div>On Wednesday September 24/2025, Chris was brought to the Mayerthorpe hospital after suffering from a stroke, where he will be hospitalized for at least a week. 
</div>
<div>This family is the most caring family I know, who would never bat an eye to help someone if it was within their ability. I have personally known them for over 15 years and we as a community can help this loving family.

<div>Christina is survived by her husband Christopher and two teenage children Binx and Edwin. Again I am reaching out so that we can gather as a community to help lift some financial stress these unfortunate events have caused. While still recovering from the burden of cost from laying Christina to rest, this single income family has now lost it's income while Chris himself recovers his health while still trying to provide a stable life and standard of living that every Canadian worked hard, their entire life, to provide for their family. During this time of economic instability and uncertainty, it is hard enough keeping our heads above water but now adding these tragic events so close together it can be crippling.

<div>I have been part of the Whitecourt community since 2000, I know for a fact that it is one of the best communities when we truly band together. So please I am asking as a friend of the family, absolutely anything that you could possibly afford to help them out with would be very much appreciated.

Have you ever felt as though your heart could not bare another negative situation? So many of us are feeling this pressure as of late. My family and friends certainly understand this over the last year. Our daughter, Noelani told me recently we should be grief immune by now. Which leads me to why I am setting up this page. Her loving Husband, Morgan Galbraith, Dad to our four wonderful grandchildren, is in a battle with Cancer. NLPHL ~ Stage 3 nodular lymphocyte predominant Hodgkin lymphoma. A rare type of HL which affects the lymphatic system and often other organs throughout the body. Morgan’s cancer has spread leaving him to deal with a variety of painful, frustrating symptoms that effect his day to day living including neurological symptoms on his left side. <br />If you meet Morgan out and about he continues to put a smile on his face, to do whatever he can to make the very best of his situation for his wife and children’s sakes. We have every faith that Morgan, with his positive spirit and support from all of those who love him, will come out victorious but his focus should be on healing at this time. The insurance coverage ends next month and Morgan is unable to return to his job as a heavy duty mechanic. He and Noelani have looked at options available to them to ease the financial burdens, but with Noelani at his side, caring for them and their family, as well as home schooling the kids, the options are not viable at this time. Medical costs, appointments which often mean travelling and general bills are taking up their time and money. That’s where we come in.
