<div>On September 30th, 2025, Brandon was found in the hallway of his apartment building by his neighbor, unable to walk or speak. While alone in his apartment, despite being just 41 years old, he had suffered a massive stroke from a large blood clot in one of the major blood vessels in his brain.

<div>Over the course of many hours, he courageously dragged himself into the hallway where he could be found and taken to the hospital for care. Thankfully, he arrived in time for the clot to be removed by physicians not only to give him the best chance at recovery, but more importantly, to save his life. Brandon would have likely left us that day had he not fought so very hard to get help. His medical team affirms that what he did to save himself is nothing short of a miracle.

<div>Brandon’s stroke resulted from an undetected clotting disorder and heart arrhythmia. In the medical field these conditions are a truly dangerous pair. Not only will he need to manage these conditions for the rest of his life, but he has a long road to rehabilitate the right side of his body and regain his speech.

<div>The journey, with all of its many challenges, will hopefully be a journey of full recovery. However, it will come at a significant financial cost. Brandon is a father, son, brother, uncle, and friend who needs your help to ease the burden of his medical expenses so that he may focus on the road ahead.

<div>My name is Traci Carter. My big sister, Shannon Henson, is the kindest, most considerate person I know. She is always there for me and others, even when she can barely physically function because of Lupus. Sadly, her husband, Emmanuel (Manny) Henson, tragically passed away after suffering a cardiac arrest on Sunday, June 1, 2025. Shannon and Manny shared two daughters, Jada (18) and Aria (7). This loss comes on the back of them celebrating the oldest daughter’s high school graduation. <strong>Shannon is now the singular provider, parent, and support to their family.</strong> As you can imagine, Manny’s sudden passing has financially shaken Shannon and the girls. <strong>We are asking for any monetary assistance you can donate to help with unexpected expenses and funeral costs.</strong> No amount is too little and no prayer is too big.

<div>As many already know from my FB post on Saturday evening, my daughter was part of the horrible tragedy that happened at UPMC Hospital this past weekend. After 4 days off work to celebrate her 19th Birthday with friends and family she returned to work Saturday simply clocking in! 

</div>

<div>1/2 hr before Jackxtyn’s lunch break while doing her job in a patients room on the ICU floor she heard the commotion, simply peeking out to see what the screaming was about she was spotted by the gunman and made come out to the hall and slammed her head into the wall and beat her with his gun. After being forced at gunpoint she had to zip tie the a nurses hands together. Pleading to this disgusting individual to “Please don’t shoot me, I just turned 19 and I just want to go home.” The gunman asked do you not believe I’ll shoot you? Jackxtyn responded, “No sir I do. I’m just asking that you please don’t kill me please!” The gunman responded.. Jesus and my wife sacrificed their life, you need to too! He then shot her at close range in her left thigh and it went through to her right knee cap and got stuck. The gunman then made my daughter limp through the ICU and close all the blinds and tell the officers not to come in. Once she closed the door the gunmans attention got distracted and she was able to limp into the bathroom and close the door….

<div>While in the bathroom I receive the worst call any parent ever wants to get… my daughter on FaceTime sobbing quietly whispering, “I’ve been shot” and crying. Continuing to tell me “she loves me and that there is a shooter and he is going to kill her. And to please come save her!” 1 to 2 minutes later all you heard was what sounded like 500 gunshots.. she was found by officers and removed from the room stepping over the gunmans body.

<div>Fast forward to today… After an extensive surgery. 4 days in the hospital… a right leg she cannot bend at all… stuck in the house with a long road to recovery and God only knows the trauma of her mental state!! 

</div>

<div>We wait to see how and when she gets compensated. And even when she does it’s not going to be her full pay!! And the living expenses don’t stop! 

</div>

<div>If you can help her out… make her smile (not much does these days)… let’s make this traumatizing time a little easier for a kid that was just trying to work!
