We hit a tremendous goal today - Remy had the surgery on his second eye around noon today! This wouldn't have been possible in such a short time without all of your generous support. You helped give someone hope and restored their independence when they needed it most. This picture is of Remy getting ready to have his post-surgery meal - definitely needed, since you have to fast the night before. Just like the first time, he got through it like a champ. He was downing a big bottle of apple juice in the recovery room when they let me go back and check on him. On Thursday morning, we go to his follow-up appointment in Sugar Land, and then on to Austin where he is resting and recovering for the next couple of weeks. You have to take special care of your eye in the first week post-surgery, avoiding strenuous activity and keeping it covered at night so it can properly heal. The road's not over - there are still bills to pay, and we could use more sharing and support for the fundraiser. But to cross this threshold is an amazing feeling for Remy. You made this happen, and we are eternally grateful for you! - Jeff
