<div>I am a 5-year-old Husky/Sheppard mix. My friends describe me as super sweet, friendly and kind to humans and animals.

<div>My dad was hoping that if I got to rest my injury for a bit, maybe it would get better, but it's only gotten worse. I have had to stay at home, and I am only allowed very short walks.

<div>I miss playing with my friends and meeting new people.

<div>I was born on a reserve in Thunder Bay and the first few years of my life were scary. I spent most of my life chained up outside.

<div> My original owner would often beat me, yell at me and throw things at me.

<div>I often did not know if I would have any clean water or food and life was sad.

<div>My Dad gave me a whole new life.

<div>I moved to Toronto to live with my Dad and become his support animal. I was born to do this job, and supporting my dad has also helped me.

<div>I learned that most people are fun, loving, and trustworthy. I have so much fun playing with my friends, and my dad says I am a fan favourite wherever I go.

<div>Now let me tell you about my dad. He is kind, funny and generous. He loves to cook. He tries to be helpful to everyone and make everyone feel welcome. Whenever there is a dog's birthday party, he is right there with pupcakes.

<div>My dad is a tough guy. He has multiple health challenges that are potentially life-threatening, and he needs someone like me to be there on days when it's too much It is the reason I came into his life. He is very proud and hates asking for help, but he will do anything he can when it comes to me.

<div>My Auntie Jen came over the other day with my cousin Coco, and we decided that we needed to talk with Dad. We explained that it is ok to be vulnerable and ask for help. That is why we are reaching out to you!

<div>My dad is on a fixed income and unable to pay for the surgery I need. During my initial vet visit with my dad he was told that it could cost up to $12,000.00!!!!! He was so sad and scared.
</div>
<div>My dad and auntie started to call vets across the city and could find a vet that would do it much, much cheaper.
</div>
<div>Our consultation revealed that I would need to have the surgery to see what is happening with my hips and tendons. Since I am a large dog, I will need sedation for x-rays, and they will be doing the surgery simultaneously. 
</div>
<div>The vet says that I have cranial cruciate ligament rupture. 
</div>
<div>My surgery will require the vet to drill a hole in my hip bone and attach a string to work as a ligament. OUCH!!!

<div>My ordeal began long before the headlines. For two years, I endured a series of unforced entries and thefts within my home. I did exactly what a citizen is supposed to do: I contacted the police. Officers visited my residence, took reports, and documented the losses, but ultimately told me there was "nothing they could do." Their professional advice? "Install a camera.

<div><strong>The Escalation</strong>
</div>
<div>The situation turned from unsettling to terrifying. I returned home one day to find my residence breached again—with no sign of forced entry—but this time, the camera I had installed for protection had been ripped from the wall. The recording device was rendered entirely inaccessible.

<div><strong>Then came September 2024.</strong> I caught an intruder red-handed during a break-and-entry. I called police immediately, but the police failed to even make it past my building’s lobby door. The suspects remained at large, despite being caught in the act and zero follow up.

<div><strong>The "Season of Gaslighting"</strong>
</div>
<div>Instead of receiving the protection I sought, I became the subject of a coordinated smear campaign. My own research, backed by Freedom of Information (FOI) requests, revealed a chilling reality: allegations against me were being backdated to precede my calls for help. This was a "mental health" narrative designed to silence a man who had too much documentation.

<div>The justification for this seizure?<strong> An allegation that I had distributed "nudes" of the intruder I had reported</strong>. Issued by Justice of the Peace, Bentley Springer, Sun Shine List Member and family friend. (One needs no glasses when it comes to these optics!)

<div><strong>Quite frankly, as a gay man</strong>, the police’s focused interest in my "<em>digital assets</em>" under these specific pretenses suggests a perplexing misunderstanding of my proclivities , to say the least!
