Our beloved nephew, Elijah, suffered a tragic drowning accident, and our family is facing an unimaginable loss. Eli was known for his gentle soul, huge smile, big blue eyes, and ultimate cuddles—he brought so much joy and warmth to everyone around him. He is loved by so many alongside his siblings and parents, who are navigating a time of grief and uncertainty.  Eli’s siblings, Ella (his twin, age 3) and Mickey (age 6, who has autism), along with their parents, Mike and Sandi, are trying to find their way forward. Sandi is a dedicated elementary school teacher, and Mike is a veteran and police officer. Both have shown unwavering commitment to helping others—not only through their professions, but also as genuinely kind and helpful people in their community. The funds raised will provide direct support for the family, allowing them the space to grieve and access therapy and specialized assistance for Ella and Mickey. Mickey’s needs are especially significant due to his autism, and the family will also face additional costs as they adjust to this new reality. <div>Joe has been managing ulcerative colitis for over a decade. On May 18th, he underwent a preventative surgery that was expected to be a positive step forward in his health journey. During the procedure, doctors unexpectedly discovered a tumor in his colon that had spread to his abdominal wall and liver.

</div>
<div>Since then, Joe has been diagnosed with Stage 4 colon cancer and is beginning a 12-week course of chemotherapy. While this wasn't the outcome anyone was expecting, he's approaching treatment with a positive attitude and determination and is fortunate to have a great medical team supporting him along the way.
</div>

<div>At 35 years old, this is not something Joe or his wife Lauren expected to be facing. It comes during a season when they are building their life together. They were married in 2024, recently bought a home, and are now navigating the many appointments, treatments, and unexpected costs that come with a cancer diagnosis.

<div>On Wednesday April 1st my wife Sabrina was detained by ICE. She’s a beautiful loving caring and devoted wife and mother of two children aged 3 and 4. We have been together for 7 years and she entered the US legally on a K-1 (fiancée) visa last year. We were married last year and have been waiting for a green card.

<div>Sabrina was detained by ICE while on her way to pick our children up from pre K. Sabrina has been in detention for close to a month at the time of writing and it has been absolutely devastating for me to be separated from my wife and for my children to be kept from their mother. While we have been waiting for Sabrina’s adjustment she’s been unable to work and has been a full time stay at home wife and mother supporting our family and raising our children while I work outside of the home to support our family, and her immigration financially. Her sudden and unexpected detention has turned our little family’s world on its head.

<div>Aside from the tragedy that is my wife’s detention, I have essentially become a single father in the interim until we can secure Sabrina’s release. This has placed a whole additional obstacle on our path as we struggle to adjust to a daily life with significantly less support especially regarding the children and household. My ability to work and earn income to support our household has been considerably impacted as much more of my time now is dedicated to securing Sabrina’s release and raising our children as I do my best to step into the giant void being left behind by Sabrina’s detention.

<div>We are seeking support to offset lawyers retainers, filing fees, bond costs and other associated legal costs (almost $20,000 at time of writing) as well as costs related to child care.

Help Bring Sabrina Home to Her Family

<div>Kim Mixon, my sister-in-law, recently lost her husband Gary to advanced cancer. On February 9th, Gary went to the ER and found out he had cancer throughout his body. Just days later, on February 20th, Gary Mixon passed away. He was only 59 and spent his life working hard for his family. Because of this, and the constant demands of bills and living expenses, Kim and Gary were never able to save much.

<div>Gary was a lifelong resident of Mt. Laurel and dedicated over 20 years of service to Mt. Laurel Township. He was also a member of the Bricklayers &amp; Allied Craftworkers Local 5 Union and landscaping &amp; snow removal in his community, but despite all his efforts, he had no extra savings to leave behind.

<div>Kim works in the Mt. Laurel school district with special needs children. She has a huge heart and has always given so much to others, never asking for anything in return. Even now, Kim is hesitant to accept help—she told me that Gary would not have wanted to ask for support. But I know how much she needs it, and I want to do everything I can to help her through this.

From that moment on, it was always just the two of us. He was not only my father , he was my entire family, my best friend, and the reason I am who I am today.

<div>As he grew older, my father developed serious medical conditions, including dementia and other medical conditions. Because of this, I made the decision to work only part-time so I could spend the rest of my time caring for him. Taking care of my father was never a burden; it was my responsibility, my duty, and my honor. Everything I did was for him.

<div>On the night of January 31st, around 10:00 PM, my life changed forever. I received a call from my neighbors telling me to rush home immediately. When I arrived, my house was completely engulfed in flames. My father was trapped inside. He did not survive.

<div>In a matter of minutes, I lost my father in the most tragic way imaginable.

<div>My 41-year-old son, <strong>Justin Anderson</strong>, recently suffered a spontaneous brain hemorrhage. On February 25, 2025, he was in the back seat of an Uber on the way to his second day on a new job and became unresponsive. The quick-thinking driver pulled over and called 911. Justin was rushed by ambulance to the emergency room, and after a CT scan, a large bleed on the right side of his brain was discovered. He was rushed into surgery for a craniotomy (removal of part of the skull) to release the blood and relieve the pressure on his brain. They then performed an endovascular embolization (a catheter is inserted through an artery in the leg and guided up to the brain to treat the bleed) as it was difficult to locate the source due to the amount of blood.
</div>

<div>Justin was diagnosed with a subdural hematoma (brain bleed), which was determined to be due to an AV fistula (an abnormal connection between an artery and a vein) that he most likely was born with but never knew he had. As a result of the amount of blood from the subdural hematoma, pressure was put on his brain, which caused a midline shift and some brain tissue damage. Three ischemic strokes (small to moderate) were found as a result after a post-operative MRI. The most concerning of these is one at the top of his brain stem. It is affecting consciousness and temperature regulation, two things that your brain normally automatically does without you even thinking about it.
</div>

</div>
<div>Justin remains unconscious, but some positive progression has been seen. However subtle, these changes are huge. He has already beaten the odds by making it to this point. He is young and has a strong heart. He has brain activity. His pupils respond to light, and he has the ability to breathe on his own. He does, however, have a breathing tube in to regulate his breathing if needed. Soon, (hopefully this week), he will have a tracheostomy and a gastrostomy performed and the breathing tube removed. Because of the brain stem stroke, he is going to need much more time to heal and to even open his eyes. How much time? We don't know. Doctors don't know. As much time as he needs. As a mother, I have hope and faith that Justin is strong enough and can recover, but I know he has a very long and tough road ahead of him.
</div>

<div>Justin is a smart and kind man. He is my only child. He has a 17-year-old daughter, who he is so proud of and loves dearly. Justin had just started a new job that he was so happy about. Had he been home alone, he would not be here today. Had he not been in the back of that Uber, he would not be here today. He was only in the Uber because he was supposed to come back home from work with his assigned work van. Otherwise, he would have been driving his own car. I am also thankful for the Uber driver's quick response to call 911.

Support a Beautiful Farewell for London

<div>As most of you know, I was diagnosed with breast cancer in July 2023. I did the strongest chemo from August-January and had a double mastectomy in February. My pathology revealed I did not have a complete response to chemo so my conventional oncologist recommended I start a daily chemo pill which I started in March and will finish in September. I have also continued to receive immunotherapy treatments every 3 weeks since surgery.
</div>

<div>My circulating tumor cell test has remained positive and gradually increased since I had surgery so I decided to get a PET scan in June that showed the cancer has most likely spread to my shoulder blade. Unfortunately, this news means I’m running out of options with conventional treatments so we decided my best chance for complete healing is to seek treatment at an integrative cancer center. There are several in the United States but unfortunately none in the Kansas City area. I have picked one in Florida so that I will have the support of my sister, Lisa. A family friend has a 2nd home that is 15 minutes from the clinic and has graciously offered to let me stay in their house and drive their car while I am there for treatment. This alone lifts such a huge burden so we won’t have thousands of dollars to spend on housing and transportation while I am there. There are so many things that have fallen into place and I believe this is confirmation that this is where I’m supposed to be.
</div>

<div>My treatment will be at least 12 weeks long with a potential for 12 maintenance weeks. I will receive the best integrative therapies that are available for cancer. The treatments are also personalized to me and my cancer. This will require me to make healing my new full time job- my treatment will be 6-8 hours a day for 5 days a week. While making the decision to leave my kids has been the hardest thing I’ve ever done, I know that this is going to work and be what it takes to finally get me into remission. Their success rate is 88%! The only problem, is that insurance doesn’t pay for it and we could really use your help to make this happen so we don’t have the financial burden on top of everything else our family is going through.

As Ted struggled through the difficulties of his battle against cancer, he always found pleasure in watching his two boys, Jack and David, play around the house, even if he wasn’t always well enough to join them. Ted faced his challenges and treatments with incredible grace and strength. The smile on his face would never tell you the type of difficulties he was enduring. He was our Superman.

<div>On Saturday July 8th, Alx and her beloved corgi Emrick were attacked by a dog who had broken off its leash. The dog’s owner then assaulted Alx by shoving her into her car door. (We have this on a neighbor’s security video and have pressed charges.) The area around Emrick’s right eye was bleeding, but luckily he wasn’t hurt worse. Alx, however, seriously injured her neck in the assault. The police called an ambulance after realizing she was unable to stand up straight or move her right hand normally. Alx was hospitalized at the end of August for 8 days due to injuries related to this assault. She still does not have normal function or sensation in her arms/hands or right leg despite months of physical therapy and has already undergone 2 surgical procedures. The next step is a cervical ablation.

<div>Alx already had pre-existing cervical and shoulder issues and sees a chronic pain specialist. Her pain was so severe even before this injury that it causes fainting episodes also known as vasovagal syncope. (She underwent months of cardiac testing this year to rule out issues with her heart since each episode is preceded by chest pain and a huge drop in her heart rate.) This newest injury is not only physically disabling, but mentally it has caused her to sink into another major state of depression. Despite this awful reality, Alx remains deeply committed to her sobriety which is admirable.

<div>Though Alx is unable to work outside the home, her efforts to apply for long-term disability, housing and food assistance for her and her daughter have been met with roadblocks due to her being illegally adopted (trafficked) from Chile as a newborn. I am our family's sole financial provider and my ability to work this summer was severely limited due to the care needs of Alx and our three children.

<div>Meredith has been scheduled for the Rex Shunt surgery in Chicago on June 28. We will be traveling as a family, and Meredith is expected to have to stay there for a month, up to 6 weeks while recovering. We’ll also be traveling back for post op visits. This will be a long trip with Trevor needing to take off work, any help is appreciated to help us pay our bills during this time!

<div>Our daughter Meredith (5) threw up blood in December 2022 while battling the flu. I took her to the ER, where she got a lot of tests done , and her condition worsened. After being transported to CHOP and admitted to the PICU and speaking to liver specialists, she was diagnosed with “Non-Cirrhotic Portal Hypertension” with Esophageal Varices. Basically, the portal vein going into her liver is backed up/clotted and blood can’t flow through. Her body has created other vein branching in an attempt to go around the problem, but it is causing other veins in her body to be abnormally large. These “varices” in her esophagus are especially concerning, because that is what burst and caused her GI bleed and for her to throw up blood.

<div>Meredith was a 29 week preemie, and the liver specialists say it is possible that when she was born, the umbilical line put in caused a blood clot in her portal vein. She has essentially been living with this health condition her whole life, and we did not know. She had one health scare around Christmas 2021 where her spleen was found to be enlarged and bloodwork abnormal, and after ruling out Leukemia, her bloodwork improved and Drs didn’t know where to go from there. She went a year until throwing up blood, and it wasn’t until getting a CT done they found out her diagnosis. With Portal Hypertension, it makes sense that her spleen is enlarged and her bloodwork isn’t normal.

<div>Since her diagnosis, we are working with a great liver team at CHOP who are monitoring her. She has had 2 endoscopies, and her dangerous looking varices have been treated with medicine, which is only a temporary solution. She just had a liver biopsy and more imaging done to prepare for further management. The risk currently is another varice bursting and causing another GI bleed, which is life threatening.

<div>We are currently consulting the expert of her condition, a Dr in Chicago. It looks very likely that we will be traveling to Chicago in the near future for Meredith to undergo major surgery, to hopefully offer a fix to her Portal Hypertension. There are a few different methods Drs use, and sometimes they can’t tell which method will work until they go into surgery and see the vasculature in person.

Even in the midst of her own personal tsunami, she would drop everything to be there with no hesitation. Her loyalty to family and friends is insurmountable.  So it is only fitting that her friends and family have come to help her in her time of need.<br /><br /><br />Connie is 54 years young and has been diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic colon cancer that has spread to her liver and lungs.  She has started chemotherapy treatments.  She is fighting for her life and the future life of her son.  She needs financial help to keep her focused on her fight, and not worried about how she might financially burden her child and partner.  The worry about providing what her son Chase will need in the future keeps her from focusing on her own fight.  Her family and friends are asking for your help and prayers through this time.  Whatever you can give, even if it may be prayer.  Please share this, so we may help Connie win this fight. Like many high school seniors, Jadon looked forward to his final winter break before graduation. He just received his driver's license and anticipated his upcoming senior activities: prom, graduation, and preparing for college where he was interested in continuing to play football. It was the middle of the morning on Christmas Eve 2020, when 17 year old Jadon Phillips, a senior at Delran High School, was not waking up like normal from a nap and was unresponsive. That was the day that Jadon and his family’s life took a new direction.  Jadon was rushed to the hospital that day, and it was discovered that he had blood on his brain and needed emergency surgery.  After the surgery, Jadon was in ICU at CHOP for 35 nights. His mother, Caisse Gore, a well loved and dedicated 8th Grade Language Arts teacher at William Allen Middle School in Moorestown, did not leave his side. As you can imagine, Caisse experienced exhaustion and emotional distress. Because of COVID, there have been restrictions on patient’s support systems. Although this family’s world has been tossed upside down, it hasn’t stopped them from believing in God for healing.<br /><br /><br />On January 27, 2021, Jadon was released from CHOP and he and his mother went home to enjoy one another and the rest of their family.  During this time, they waited to learn if the cause of Jadon’s brain bleed was a blood clot or a tumor.  After tests were conducted, it was determined that Jadon had experienced symptoms due to a tumor.  This meant that Jadon had to return to CHOP to have more surgery, this time to remove the tumor.  On March 3, 2021, the tumor was removed and he and his mother were back in the ICU at CHOP for 17 days. Jadon received physical, occupational and speech therapy and a shunt was placed in Jadon’s brain to alleviate fluid build up.  Just as the family thought that the journey was winding down, results from the tests on the tumor were made known; it was malignant.  Three weeks later the tumor returned.  In March 2021, Jadon was diagnosed with an aggressive brain cancer.  Through all of this, the family’s faith in God has not wavered and they are believing in Him for Jadon’s healing. <br /><br /><br />Jadon is known to his friends and family as being persistent, strong-willed, loving, and sensitive.  He enjoys spending time with his parents and his brothers and sisters.  After having multiple surgeries (at least 8), he is now receiving chemotherapy and daily radiation at Penn.  His mother, Caisse, is giving him around the clock care and squeezing in time to care for the others in their family.  Jadon’s diagnosis along with the treatment have resulted in his inability to walk or bathe himself, and he has difficulty swallowing.  Jadon’s father, Keith, and Caisse’s husband, Ryan, have been the backbone as they are working together to lift Jadon in and out of their SUV everyday for appointments and bathe him at night. Jadon’s parents, siblings, and family members are working as a unit to support one another, and are now in need of everyone in their community as the challenge is becoming harder to bear. <br /><br /><br />Jadon and his family are in need of  love, support, and positivity. Jadon's Aggressive Brain Cancer Battle

<p>My name is Fulton Fortner. My little brother, Shane, was in a car wreck that turned into an inferno. It's been just over a month now, and I thought everyone could use an update.
</p>

<p>His chest, back, face, hands and arms were badly burned. He's been receiving care at the Western States Burn Center in Greeley, CO. There have been several major surgeries, with several minor surgeries still to go. He is almost healed up enough to be discharged from the burn unit. The work done by Shandy, Tralyn, and the entire incredible staff of the Burn Unit his recovery has been nothing short of amazing.
</p>

<p>There is still a long road ahead for Shane and the whole family, including lots of physical and occupational therapy far from home. But thanks to the generosity of everyone of you, they at least have a head start. Shane is in high spirits despite his situation, and ready to tackle the rest of his recovery. On March 22, 2021 I was diagnosed with breast cancer.<br /><br />About 1 week prior, I noticed some skin changes on my breast that looked concerning. I immediately set up an appointment with my doctor, who found a lump on examination. I was sent for an ultrasound which showed a concerning mass. On March 18, I had a breast biopsy- four days later, the doctor called to tell me the pathology was positive for invasive ductal carcinoma of the breast.<br /><br />I am 24 years old with no family history of breast cancer, so this came as a shock to everyone in my life. Thankfully, I was lucky enough to catch the skin changes when I did. I have estrogen receptor +, HER2+ invasive ductal carcinoma of the breast. I will be requiring oral hormone-targeted medication, systemic chemotherapy, and surgery + radiation.<br /><br />Due to my young age, I required some additional work up. So far, I have had:<br /><br />~10 ultrasounds<br />breast biopsy<br />skin biopsy<br />lymph node biopsy  <br />chest x-ray<br />mammogram<br />MRI<br />genetic testing<br />extensive blood work<br />fertility work-up and fertility preservation<br />PET scan <br />echocardiogram<br /><br />I have an amazing team consisting of a surgical oncologist, medical oncologist, genetic counselor, and fertility specialist through Penn Medicine.<br /><br />Unfortunately, because I require systemic chemotherapy, my ovarian function is at risk. There is a chance the chemotherapy will affect our ability to conceive naturally in the future. My doctors recommended I go through the process of IVF/fertility preservation. This process is time-consuming, expensive and not covered by insurance. My fiancée, Matt, and I have been together for 10 years this November and are getting married this October. Having a family has always been in our plans. This process takes about 2 weeks and has to be completed prior to starting chemotherapy on April 28th.<br /><br />Due to my Her2 positivity and the cancer being in my lymph nodes, I will be receiving a four-drug regimen for chemotherapy. Two of the chemotherapies will cause hair loss. I have decided to use a therapy called ‘cold cap’ to hold onto as much hair as I can. This is also expensive and not covered by insurance.<br /><br />I am closing in on finishing Physician Assistant school, a goal I have worked towards for 3 years. I am on track to graduate, but I will be unable to start my career due to the chemotherapy. Me and Matt are fortunate enough to have just bought our first home together, but because I will be unable to work, I will be unable to contribute to the bills.<br /><br />My family and Matt have been supporting me through this process, but it pains me to have the financial burden fall on their shoulders. I find it very difficult to ask for help, especially financially. Meet Felix - A 5-year old, Cavalier King Charles Spaniel who lives with his Mom in New York City. Felix had always been his same sweet &amp; spunky self until about  a year ago when he was noticeably itching his back more then usual. After several visits to the vet and a number of misdiagnoses (including  dry skin &amp; allergies) he was finally diagnosed with Syringomyelia. Unfortunately, this is a serious disease that not only affects Felix but many other cavaliers. <br /><br />What this diagnosis means for Felix is that he was born with a small skull which has started to squeeze his brain resulting in spinal fluid. While his condition is currently well-managed with medication, he is already beginning to experience negative symptoms from this disease. As this is commonly known as "neck scratchers disease" Felix also now has arthritis due to the constant scratching. <p> “Parvo” is a canine disease caused by the canine parvovirus. It affects unvaccinated puppies after their mother’s passive immunity/antibodies are gone and is spread by contact through infected feces. It impacts the small intestine primarily by sloughing off the absorptive layer, causing clinical signs like bloody vomit, bloody diarrhea, dehydration, and anorexia among several other things. If left untreated, unvaccinated puppies will die.

<p> Only less than two weeks ago we welcomed our sweet puppy Bruce into his new home. He has been the perfect little addition. If you know me, you know how much I love dogs. Eric too. When we got Bruce I cried tears of joy. I honestly cried everyday because of how lucky I felt to have such an amazing little pup. Eric and I love him so very much.  <br /><br />Yesterday morning we noticed that he was extremely lethargic and vomiting, quickly followed by violent shakes, so we rushed him to the nearest animal hospital. Soon after we were informed that he had contracted Parvovirus. I immediately broke down in the car and when the vet told us the price to try to keep him alive my heart sunk. Please pray for his recovery. We just want him back in our arms.<br /><br />This all happened so quickly and unexpectedly.<br />No amount of planning could have prepared us for the emotional and financial devastation that comes with a puppy that has parvo. <br />If possible, please consider donating. <p>This week my dear friend Pat Baud and her  family received some devastating news. Her son Nick was diagnosed with Stage 4 Hodgkins Lymphoma. Nick will soon start chemotherapy, which he will receive every other week for six months.<br /><br />Nick is in the very best hands with his doctors at the University of Pennsylvania. And I have no doubt that he will conquer this illness with the same vigor and determination that he has shown throughout his young life. <br /><br />As many of you know, Pat is the proud owner of Pat’s Pet Service. She spends many hours a week pouring her heart into caring for our special critters.

<p><span style="font-size:1.0625rem;">Nick will not be able to work during his treatment and it will be extremely </span><span style="font-size:1.0625rem;">difficult for Pat to keep the workload that she now maintains. </span>

If not, then please don’t. If you have, then you know Colin, Emily, their three children, and their families are in for the fight of their lives. Literally. Recovering from a frontal craniotomy where the surgeons removed a large malignancy, Colin will begin rehab later this week while UPENN works on a plan for his specific treatment. Emily has always and remains still a glass-half-full person.  Let’s fill the heck out of her glass! <br /><br />With Emily on FMLA leave from her teaching career until February to care for Colin and their three young children and Colin a commissioned employee that does not have disability insurance, this brain cancer is not only a devastating physical blow; it is a severe financial one, as well. Even with Emily’s school health insurance, out-of-pocket medical and non-medical expenses such as deductibles, co-pays, over-the-counter medications, and home accommodations are going to cause an unrecoverable financial strain.  The surgery was just the first few steps in a marathon they have laying before them.<br /><br />So what can we do to fill this family’s glass to support them in enjoying as many quality moments together with the time they have?  We can send them our strength, positivity, and generosity. <br /><br />Let’s pay off their mortgage, erase their medical expenses, and fund the education of Lucas who turns 7 in December, Liam who is a proud 5, and Grace, an adorable 2-year-old. <br /><br />Give a little or give a lot, but please share this campaign with as many people as you can and send your love, positivity, and prayers out to them. Family Affected By Malignant Brain Tumor

While he had been sick for several months, his death was unexpected and the family is completely unprepared. In Memory of Fred Bounasissi

On March 10th, 2020 6 members of the Fusco Family was admitted to Centra State Hospital in Freehold, NJ with severe symptoms of the coronavirus. Unfortunately on March 13th one member of that family, Rita, passed away due to complications with this virus. She was 1 of 11 children and was both a parishioner and a teacherin the Co-Cathedral of St. Robert Bellarmine confirmation program. Still, today, 5 members of the Fusco family are in critical condition in ICU battling this horrific virus. This is a family that always cared and was there for others and now they need us to be there for them. All money raised will be donated to the family for medical expenses, funeral expenses, and future hardship.
