<div>Hi, my name is Hope and I'm fundraising to study Figurative Sculpture for three years at the Florence Academy of Art. From a young age, creating has been a place of self-discovery, peace and connection for me, helping me navigate different seasons and find a way home- to a space where I feel most myself and closest to God.

<div>The sculpture course at the Florence Academy of Art will develop my skills and acquire the technique to create spaces for healing and reflection. I'll spend time learning to draw and sculpt the human figure accurately from life, studying art history and the anatomy of the human body.

<div>Last year I learnt ways to translate my emotions and thoughts into sculptures at City and Guilds of London Art School. I discovered that the beauty and complexity of the human body and the emotions and thoughts we all carry in our bodies is something I want to explore and study deeply. When I'm making a sculpture I feel a tangible connection between the deep thoughts and feelings I can't express in words and the physical work itself; this experience of connection is healing and restorative to me and my dream is that I will be able to unlock this inner world and internal self-connection for other people through my work.

<div>My plan is to study Art Therapy after I finish the sculpture course in Florence and learn how to help people heal through art, alongside the practice I'll be creating.
