<div>Jezamae was born December 9th of 2022. She has a proud older brother named Kynglee who just turned 3. Her parents, Sierra Blake and Quinten Rainner, absolutely adore her as do many others. This precious baby girl has a fight ahead of her. She was diagnosed with stage 4 liver cancer. She has already undergone a biopsy to confirm her diagnosis and to create a plan of treatment. Jezamae is strong and is surrounded by love right now as she begins her journey. The road ahead for this family is going to be hard. Family, friends and community, A long time ago (June 4th, 1998) in a galaxy far, far away (Kansas City, MO), by God's beautiful design, Samuel Hogan was born.   Sam's life at a very young age was met with trials and tribulations, and a few bumps along the way.  He spent some time in foster care.  He lived in group home and hospital settings.  He had a heart condition and needed a transplant. Sam suffered with a rare genetic disease identified as Williams Syndrome.  Williams Syndrome generally is coupled with serious symptoms.  It has been described as an uncommon and complex disorder.  Sam had two significant needs.  #1 He needed a family #2 He needed a new heart.  Some might assume that it would be incredibly difficult to find a family ready and willing to sign on for surgeries, long hospital stays, endless appointments, meetings, never ending paper work, therapies and check ups. Which made what happened next only to be described as divine intervention.    Sam met Jimel and neither of them ever looked back.  He was HOME.  Exactly where God orchestrated him to be.  In 2011 both of Sam's needs were officially met.  He was adopted, which then allowed him to be added to the transplant list, and therefore be the recipient of his new heart. I always thought how lucky Sam was for finding Jimel, but now I see that it was quite possibly the other way around.  She was blessed and saved by him.  Truthfully, they were blessed to have each other. Sam's life continued to defy the odds.  He had many "firsts" as a member of the Hogan family.  He even surpassed many limitations that were beyond what he should have been able to do.  Writing his name was one of them.  Sam went on to finish High School, celebrate his 21st birthday, secure a job and even signed his paychecks to deposit into his very own bank account.  If you knew Sam directly or indirectly your life was blessed ten fold because of it.  He was a fierce protector and loved his Mama.  An avid ceiling fan watcher, a lover of all things Kansas City.  Royals and Chiefs alike.  An excellent brother, an even better son, uncle, grandson, cousin and nephew. Sam's heart stopped beating on January 6th, 2020.  He gained his heavenly wings that very evening, but for us that he left behind, we still very much feel his heartbeat.  The light that he carried will forever remain in us, the ones who love and miss him so deeply.  His mother would never ask for it but I have become aware of a few needs of the family and I would love nothing more to rally around her and her family during their time of grief and release the burden.  Therefore, I have a rather big ask.  I am seeking $15,000 to assist with the following: 1.  Due to Sam's medical diagnosis the family was denied an insurance claim to assist with funeral expenses.  2.  The family has a few rather large and quite frankly overwhelming home modification projects that will need to be completed urgently.  One being that Sam's handicap shower was initially improperly installed and it will need to be removed and replaced immediately as it has caused significant structural and water damage to the entire bathroom.  The other is that due to the number of people in the house the Hogan's will need an updated main electrical panel service and some rewiring throughout the house. As you can imagine, to a single mom of 11, unexpected expenses can cause tremendous stress.  Especially when those expenses are this costly and seem unobtainable.  Please considering giving what you can to help us obtain our goal and to wrap around this beautiful family during their time of need.   God bless!

Hogan Warriors - In memory of Sam Hogan

Many people have reached out and have asked how they can help the Riederer family in this time of need and this GoFundMe meets that purpose.    Jeannie and Kory are an amazing and loving couple.  When their baby girl was only a few months old, they found out they were being doubly blessed with being pregnant with identical twins!   <img src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/30377802_15281610320_r.jpeg" alt="30377802_15281610320_r.jpeg" width="100%" media_type="3" />   Jeannie and Kory’s lives were turned upside down when they found out that their unborn twin boys suffered from a rare condition called Twin to Twin Transfusion Syndrome in utero.  A surgery to save their lives was preformed on February 20th,  hoping to stop the TTTS progression, and to buy them more time in their mother's belly.  Unfortunately, they experienced a rupture at 25 weeks and the twins were born on April 5th, 2018 (15 weeks before their due date).  <img src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/30377802_15281608490_r.jpeg" alt="30377802_15281608490_r.jpeg" width="100%" media_type="3" />   These precious boys began their very difficult and painful fight to survive, experiencing severe life threatening episodes, ventilators, feeding tubes, needles and all the necessary prodding and painful tests.  Samuel and Jonathan have continued to overcome.  They are 34 weeks "gestation" and 8 weeks outside the womb.  In order to stay by the babies side, Jeannie and Kory have exhausted their savings and advanced time off work.  The boys have already received over 1 million dollars in care  and are only 50% through their stay at the neonatal intensive care unit.  Insurance will cover a good portion of it but there are significant co-pays and deductibles that are Jeannie and Kory's responsibility.    The father, Kory, is already back to work full time but the mother is being forced to go back to work in order to support the family's basic necessities.  We believe it absolutely imperative for the survival and the health of these boys for the mother to be beside them right now and to keep a watchful eye.  They need to hear her voice and feel her touch throughout the day and to teach them to nurse when they are hungry.  They currently eat through feeding tubes and cannot be discharged until they can eat successfully on their own  ( which is weeks of practice away).   They have contracted staff infection and viruses during their stay and having their mommy by their sides is a big help in supporting their strength and comfort and ability to keep fighting.   We are asking for contributions to this GoFundMe campaign to help make it possible for these boys to have their mother at their side while in the hospital.   ALL money will be used solely for the purpose of providing necessary living expenses and assistance to prepare for their needs upon their release home.  Any donations will be a help to this family in this time of emergency.  If unable to donate, please continue to pray and please share this page with your family and friends and communities.  Thank you all so much! <img src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/30377802_15281617640_r.jpeg" alt="30377802_15281617640_r.jpeg" width="100%" media_type="3" /><img src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/30377802_15281617880_r.jpeg" alt="30377802_15281617880_r.jpeg" width="100%" media_type="3" />

Campaign for the Riederer Twins

Sisters make the bad times good and the good times Unforgettable. That’s the best way to sum up my love for my one and only sister, Sharon. And that’s why I am taking this leap and reaching out to my dear friends and family and asking for support during a difficult time that she and her immediate family are currently going through. I have posted some recent events over the last few months with limited information pertaining to my sister,  and today I’d like to elaborate a little so you have more insight to the challenges that she has faced and those she continues to be up against. For those that know Sharon, know that she and I are really just 2 different flowers from the same garden. She’s beautiful, thoughtful, compassionate, friendly and carries a constant, contagious smile. Some say we get that from Dad! For those that don’t know her, you’re really missing out! 14 years ago, after years of struggling with her weight, Sharon engaged in a very invasive bariatric weight loss surgery called the Biliopancreatic diversion with Duodenal Switch, also known as Gastric Reduction. This surgery is composed of a restrictive and malabsorptive aspect. 14 years ago, pre and post treatment was not performed as it is today in Bariatric medicine, therefore she was advised to increase vitamin supplements for life and carry on. She has spent the last 14 year monitoring her body, but over time, the supplements were not able to keep up with her loss. Within the last year and a half she has had unexplained, continual changes to her body and health.  After multiple tests, physicians and racking health bills, the conclusion was that this is just how it is, “maybe you have Fibromyalgia”, and “eat more protein”.  We attended a concert on August 31st 2016 at the Sprint Center and that was the last time Sharon was confidently on her feet and feeling well. Soon following, Sharon begun falling, blacking out, losing weight, and in time got to a point where she could barely eat due to increased swelling and pain in her mouth and throat. Her hair begun thinning as her body developed severe Edema. Between November and late December, atrophy set in and she had become immobile. After a few runs to the ER and recommendations that didn’t seem to help in addition to lack of physician care, we took her to KU Hospital on January 6th. It was there she as advised that she was “knocking on Heaven’s Door” and they admitted her. During that week, every possible test, scan and poke occurred. Tests revealed strong organs, considering the toll her body was taking. Unfortunately, after multiple blood tests, it was discovered that she was missing something called “Trace Minerals” which are required in order for nutrients and vitamins to cling to. They compared her and her levels to that of an Ethiopian and advised that this is not common in America. Her Protein levels were the lowest they had ever seen. After a week of care and tests, she was transferred to a wonderful Rehabilitation Hospital in Overland Park, KS. It was there that her life begun to turn around. She was immediately introduced to Dr. Saradih who ordered that she be fed intravenously with what is referred to TPN. His opinion is that Sharon was never going to get better by oral feeding due to the malabsoption issue.  With daily hours of therapy, feedings and movement, she was able to increase her energy, healing on the inside and out, and regained mobility! She was released last week to home where she continues to administer her own 14 hour TPN treatment, a $300 a day prescription, and engage in Home Health therapy and nursing.  At this time, the only cure for Sharon, is surgical reversal. She is in the midst of seeing a Bariatric Surgeon at Shawnee Mission who will discuss this procedure and the hope that the reversal will allow her body to begin absorbing nutrients again. With hope in our hearts and a future of good health anticipated, Sharon and Chad were hit yesterday with a very large stumbling block.  Sharon is a stay at home wife and mother, and Chad the provider for their family.  Chad has a loyal and devoted heart for his wife, children and employer. Over the last several months, Chad was hit with an increase of responsibility. It was him in charge of Sunny, school, chores, food, pets and his job.  He was able to keep everything in check providing for all to his best of abilities.  Yesterday was a day that should have been filled with further hope.  But unfortunately, Chad was on the road performing his job when he was called back to the company office. He was advised that he was “being let go” with no reason provided. He didn’t argue or object and simply turned over his vehicle, computer and company cell phone. Also included in that turnover was their family insurance. The one crucial piece needed at this time in their life. So effective tomorrow, February, 1st, my sister is without health insurance needed to cover her current medical situation. We are so close to getting her well again. Without an income, Cobra Insurance will be very expensive for them, but so needed to get her through her final medical journey to health. Sharon's health is critical at this point . Without the TPN and reversal surgery, life expectancy may not be very long.    I am reaching out, as persuaded by so many great people that are in my circle of life, to those that would like to contribute in helping them secure their health insurance until she is recovered. Any donation is an appreciated and worthy donation.  I just want to do what I can, in any way I can, to help out my sister. She wouldn’t do any less for me.

Many of you have asked Jenna and I what you can do to help fill a need in this time of recovery and family healing. Your thoughts, prayers and well wishes are monumental and we feel overwhelmed by love. If you desire and are so inclined, a donation here will help with medical bills, baby supplies and other financial concerns for our family at this time. While Jenna continues to make enormous and miraculous strides in rehabilitation, we suffer the loss of an income for the unforeseeable future. Understand that we have no further expectations for support, as you have already exceeded any hope we had for help and assistance. Simply put, our family wanted a place for people who have or want the ability to continue that financial support. Luckily, it seems, all other areas of need have been covered. We have felt so loved and blessed by the outpouring of prayers and encouragement for Jenna through this journey.
