<div>hi everyone my name is Elaine Sulzbach,

<div>my father, Mark Sulzbach, is currently in extremely critical condition in the ICU due to septic shock. This week my dad was admitted to the ER and went into cardiac arrest(heart attack). The doctors were thankfully able to resuscitate him, but during the time his heart had stopped, his organs began to fail. He was rushed into emergency surgery, where doctors had to remove his entire colon to control the infection and save his life.

<div><strong><em>Update: 10/15/2025- Dad has made it thru his 2nd surgery and seems to be doing better. Doctors and family remain hopeful. Thank you all for your prayers, kind words, and donations. </em></strong>

<div>We are remaining hopeful and praying for his healing. This will be a long road to recovery—he is expected to remain in the hospital for at least a month, followed by time in a skilled nursing facility as he continues to regain strength.

<div>My dad is an incredibly caring and loving father and friend to all. He loves being active, loves playing handball with my younger brother and would give the shirt off his back to help anyone and everyone out. He is kind and funny and always gave me the best advice thru the years and listened when I needed him and would show up to my flea markets to help me set up. He constantly buys people gifts from thrift stores (how he shows love)

<div>Our family has also been through so much—my older brother passed away a few years ago which took a toll on everyone.

<p>Hello we are Jake and Julian and we are the Son, Stepson, and Son-In-Law of Evette and Jim the recipients of this Fundraiser. We have created this Fundraiser for Evette, Jim and Rudy their dog who lost their home and all of their belongings in the Eaton Canyon Fire. Both Evette and Jim have been a light in so many peoples lives and have helped other people in their time of need, and now they need your help. If it is possible we ask that you give even just a little to help them. All of the funds recieved will help Evette and Jim through this troubling time with unexpected costs while they get back on their feet.

As we try to navigate and figure out how our lives are supposed to continue forward without him here with us, we want to make sure that we are able to celebrate the time that God permitted us to have him here with us physically and the return of his Spirit to God's Kingdom and our Mother's arms. Anything you can donate or share is appreciated by our family beyond measure, even if it is just a fond memory you have with our beloved Duane. <p>My mom really was the best mother and grandmother anyone could hope for. She was such an energetic and kind person. She was filled with so much love and it was felt by anyone who met her.
