These fires claim lives, destroy homes and property, and expose communities to harmful smoke. Each year, hundreds of people create fundraisers on the GoFundMe platform asking for help in the wake of a destructive wildfire.

<div>Charlie has been tirelessly fighting the Eaton Fire since Tuesday. Sadly, the fire burned down his family home on Wednesday and they lost everything they own. Charlie is the single parent of a 2 year old boy named Liam.

LA Wildfires: Help Animal Organizations

<div>My name is Ryan Abourisk, and I am Eric’s grandson. I live in Los Angeles near by and have been spending as much time as possible to support him during this tragic time.  On the heels of his 93rd birthday, my grandfather’s life was turned upside down by the Pacific Palisades wildfires. The home he bought in 1963 with his late wife, Rose—who passed away in 2022—was completely destroyed. All that he built with her, every memory, every cherished item, has been reduced to ashes.

<div>In the chaos of the evacuation, Eric was given just a few hours to leave his home, with only a small suitcase of clothes—no photos, no important documents, no personal keepsakes. The memories they created together have been lost, and he is now left trying to rebuild not just his life, but his sense of home.

<div>Eric has always been strong, but at 93 years old, this tragedy has been incredibly hard to bear. He never imagined that a simple evacuation would turn into a total loss. His need for support is urgent as he tries to figure out the next steps, and we are reaching out to you, his community, for help.
