<div>There are moments in life that divide your world into two parts. Everything before, and everything after. For Halen Morgan and everyone who loves him, that moment came with a diagnosis of Stage II Diffuse Large B Cell Lymphoma.

<div>Just a few weeks ago, Halen was doing what every teenager should be doing. Playing football, performing with his band, spending time with friends, and enjoying life. What first seemed to be nothing more than a swollen tonsil quickly turned into emergency surgery at UC Davis. After doctors removed the rapidly growing mass and completed additional testing, his family heard the words no parent is ever prepared to hear. “Your son has cancer.”

<div>If you’ve never had the privilege of meeting Halen, it’s hard to put into words the kind of young man he is. Halen is the kid every coach hopes to have on their team, the teammate everyone wants beside them, and the friend who is always there when someone needs him. He’s respectful, humble, compassionate, and fiercely competitive. He works hard without looking for recognition, treats people with kindness simply because that’s who he is, and has the kind of character that leaves a lasting impression on everyone he meets.

<div>Long before this diagnosis, Halen had already proven what he was made of. He’s fought through injuries, surgeries, broken bones, and every obstacle life has placed in front of him. He doesn’t stay down. He gets back up. A few years ago, Halen watched his dad fight cancer and win. Today, his dad gets to remind him every single day that people beat cancer. That’s why so many people have said the exact same thing since hearing this news. Cancer picked the wrong kid.

<div>In the middle of unimaginable fear came a blessing that no one takes for granted. The cancer had not spread to Halen’s brain, spine, or bones. His doctors immediately developed a treatment plan, and he has already begun chemotherapy. The road ahead will not be easy, but there is real hope, and everyone who knows Halen believes this is a battle he can win. The love surrounding him has been overwhelming. His football family has rallied behind him. His band family, friends, classmates, coaches, teachers, neighbors, and even complete strangers have surrounded him with prayers, encouragement, and support.

<div>Watching an entire community wrap its arms around one young man has been a powerful reminder of just how many lives Halen has touched and how deeply he is loved.

<div>While Halen’s only job right now is to fight, heal, and simply be a kid, his family is carrying the emotional weight no parent should ever have to bear while also facing an overwhelming financial burden. Although they have health insurance, much of Halen’s specialized treatment at UC Davis falls outside of their insurance network, leaving them with significant medical expenses during the biggest fight of their lives. Anyone who knows Neal and Tawna knows they have always been the first to help someone else, giving their time, their hearts, and their support without ever expecting anything in return.

If there was ever a kid you would bet on to overcome something this difficult, it’s Halen. Thank you for believing in him. Thank you for believing in hope. And thank you for helping remind one incredible young man that while cancer may have chosen him, it truly picked the wrong kid.

Support for Halen’s Cancer Treatment

<div>On March 23, 2025, Nicole was given a second chance. While riding on an ATV in Pismo Dunes, she drove off a blind 20-foot cliff, fracturing her C5 vertebrae and breaking her neck. What was a fun ride in the dunes quickly became a life-or-death situation. She was airlifted to two different hospitals and had immediate surgeries. These seven-hour-long surgeries were life-saving but also life-crushing. The accident left her paralyzed from the neck down. After 25 days in the surgical ICU, she was transferred to Santa Clara Valley Medical in San Jose and placed in respiratory rehab. Nicole could not breathe on her own. But she’s a fighter, and after three months of being on the ventilator, she was able to learn to breathe on her own again!!! That’s a miracle in itself!! She’s also been able to regain some mobility in her arms. She’s yet to move her legs and fingers or have the ability to lift herself out of bed. She currently has very limited movement in her upper extremities, and while we do hope she gains it all back, it will take time. Every single spinal cord injury is different, but we remain hopeful that with hard work, Nicole will walk again!

<div><strong>Unfortunately, insurance covers practically nothing.</strong> Since being released from Valley Medical on August 8th, she has yet to receive a single session of physical therapy or occupational therapy! The first year of recovery is the most important, and this is something no one could ever plan for. Insurance has also failed to provide her with the basic necessities such as a proper hospital bed, bathroom commode, or shower chair, along with therapy and workout equipment for home use. The craziest part is that these items range from $5k-$15k per item, making the transition home a very difficult one. Nicole needs a full-time caregiver as well. We hope that will be covered by IHHS in the near future, but we are uncertain. <strong>All donations will go to get Nicole the equipment and care she needs.</strong>

<div>For those that don’t know Nicole, she is a very determined young lady. Prior to the accident, Nicole was in an accelerated master's program in San Francisco. Her goal was to complete this master's program in business analytics before her 22nd birthday. When she was not in San Francisco for school or commuting back home to Salinas, she was working as a grocery store manager. She works for Grocery Outlet and has been off and on for the past five years.

Support Nicole's Fight for Mobility and Healing

This is Ernesto and Dana Sesma with their 4 kids. They’re new to Las Vegas, moved in a few weeks ago. We were having such a great time yesterday! We all went home, everyone was sleeping and they were woken up by heat and smoke.  Their home engulf last night unfortunately over fireworks. They were left homeless &amp; with no belongings. This home was being rented and unfortunately did not get renters insurance in time as they were still getting settled in. Anything helps, anything! They need furniture, clothes, things for their kids, deposits for another house… the list goes on.. this is very unfortunate and traumatizing for their family. Everyone is safe and unharmed . <div>In August of 2021, Sandy was diagnosed with Myelodysplastic Syndrome (MDS) as well as Myelofibrosis of her bone marrow.  She is receiving numerous infusions in order to keep her healthy enough (and alive) to be able to go to the next step.  The only cure for Sandy is a bone marrow transplant.  In order for Sandy to be ready for the bone marrow transplant, she has to go through two rounds of low dose chemotherapy, before the major rounds of chemotherapy start.  We thank the Lord that she was able to find a bone marrow match from a healthy young lady that is going to bless Sandy with the much needed bone marrow.  Sandy is scheduled to go to OHSU for a month, starting November 23rd, to get the transplant and her family will not be able to see her during this time.  Sandy, and her husband Jason, will have to relocate to Portland for three months post-transplant, as she has to stay close to OHSU in case of complications.

<div>Sandy and Jason are part of the Grocery Outlet family and own the Dallas Oregon location.  As you can imagine being self-employed adds other stresses that complicate this medical journey as well as her healing process.  While Jason continues to manage the store, get Sandy to all the necessary appointments and taking care of household matters.  Their staff have been a Godsend!!  And their daughter Lizzie is amazing!

Help Sandy with medical costs

<p>After several months of tests, invasive procedures, multiple doctors opinions, our beautiful Deb, 57 years old, was diagnosed with ALS also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease. Deb is a loving mother, daughter, grandmother (or DeeDee as her twin granddaughters call her), sister, aunt, mother-in-law, cousin, and friend to so many! All that have met her along her journey can attest to her love for family and her unwavering strength. Although she has been able to conquer several hardships in life, this is one that will need an army.

<p>For those who are not familiar with the disease, there are existing treatments to slow the progression to provide as much comfort as possible, but unfortunately there is no cure. While we are in search of how to best help Deb transition through this next season, we do know that it will be a difficult one emotionally, physically and financially. We’ve been told the average annual cost of care for ALS is $145,000.

Help Deb Wat Fight ALS

Sandra Torres gained her wings on January 25, 2021. Even if you only met Sandra  once you would know what a warm and kind person she was. Sandra was the type of person that always had a big smile and was genuine, you could feel the warmth of her heart. Sandra leaves behind a husband and two beautiful children, Chaz &amp; Carli. <br />Sandra and Carlos open their store together in downtown LA and had  been working side-by-side with each other. This unexpected loss isn’t easy for anyone to lose a loved one and with the medical expense as well as cost arrangements  taking Sandra  back home to Chicago we ask if you can help Carlos? Every  little bit helps and thank you.  We love you Sandra and brother Carlos we are here for you!

On April 18th, Dan brought Ashley into the emergency room.  She had extreme vertigo, and could not walk by herself or focus on anything clearly with her eyes.  Unfortunately, the hospital could not do anything for her.  They released Ashley from the hospital, and set up an appointment for her to see an ENT Specialist.  <br /><br />On April 24th, Ashley seen the ENT Specialist.  He did testing on her ears to make sure that they were not the problem.  The ENT Specialist said he is 99% sure that Ashley needs to see a Neurologist.  <br /><br />On April 28th, Ashley was admitted to Eden Medical Center in Castro Valley, California where they are waiting to see a Neurologist, testing, and a diagnosis.  No updates as of yet.  <br /><br />Dan, known as (aka Mr. Grocery Outlet) moved to Anderson, California with his wife Ashley, and daughters Emma and Taylor over two years ago.  They went for extensive training to be able to open up their own Grocery Outlet in Anderson.  When it finally opened, it was a dream come true.  That dream came with many blessings.  The Community of Anderson's support is what pulls them through.  They are grateful for their employees, and all of the ones that they have been able to pay it forward to since the store opened.  <br /><br />With all the "unknown" that is happening in the Gallier's' life right now, Dan's main concern is Ashley, but the concern of his girls, their store, and the employees is a constant on his mind.  With medical bills exceeding $17k,  and no diagnosis confirmed yet, the expenses will continue to rise.  <br /><br />If you are able to support  this family, there is no amount that is too small, and we thank you ahead of time.  <br /><br />Please be thinking and praying for this family.  Pray that the doctors will figure out what is wrong, and be able to come up with a plan to help.<br /><br />In the meantime,<br /><br />TEAM GALLIER
