This is Anthony Bustillos he is a registered nurse at Midland Memorial Hospital, he is one of the kindest people I know and is a loving and caring husband, father, friend, and nurse! Here is Anthony’s story. “For those who don’t know, I was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2014, I immediately had the Whipple procedure and went through chemo and radiation therapy for the entirety of 2015. I am God’s miracle to have survived pancreatic cancer, which at the time was 5%. I went on to being a husband, a father, a nurse and a friend. Five years later the fight is on again-the cancer had spread to my right lung. We were going back and forth to MD Anderson in Houston, TX. We found a doctor that said because it was slow growing and isolated to 4 spots, he could remove all the cancer seen on imaging by removing 25% of my right lung. I was scheduled for a partial lobectomy on June 7, and took 2-3 weeks for recovery. The surgery went well, after I returned home I was experiencing a lot of pain and went back to MD Anderson on August 21st for a follow up. At this appointment they found fluid on my lung and took me for a thoracentesis and removed 1000 liters of fluid. The next day the doctors informed me my lung was still collapsed and needed to have a thoracotomy and decortication and possible pleuralectomy. Once the surgeon opened he stated he “found a carpet of cancer located on the pleural lining on my lung and ribs”. It was so thick and hard it was preventing my lung from expanding and ribs from expanding. He had to remove a rib to get as much of the cancer as he could and was only able to get 50%. He is recommending chemo and radiation, I will go back to Md Anderson in Houston on the 18th of September to begin chemo and radiation. I am a fighter because, through Jesus Christ I can do all things. By speaking and believing I am healed, with faith the size of a mustard seed, we can move mountains! With the combined prayer of all my friends and family, God is with us and the devil is defeated!!”   Please join me in donating to Anthony and Amanda Bustillos to help with the cost of medical bills and travel costs back and forth to MD Anderson. Anthony Bustillos is one of the greatest nurses I have ever had the pleasure of working with. He is empathetic, compassionate, and really puts himself in the shoes of the patient. As a friend, he is all that and more. He will lend a helping hand even if it puts him behind, he remembers small details and asks about them months down the road, he fills a room with laughter at his sarcastic comments... He cares about people whole-heartedly and loves his family, friends, and co-workers without waiver. He is all you could ask for in a friend and co-worker! He’s beat cancer once before, but the devil is back at work. Join me in donating what you want + can in an effort to help him not be engulfed with the financial stress that follows a surgery. “Been There, Beat That!” Benefitting Anthony

I want to start by thanking all who have prayed for Jason~Mandie 

As the New Year brought excitement for many, our life was turned upside down in the blink of an eye. We found out that Jason has Cancer! They first found a tumor on his jaw on New Year’s Day. Then I took him back to ER and they did an upper body scan. Found three more tumors, one in his lung, and one on each adrenal gland. He was immediately admitted to the hospital.

They did a biopsy of his jaw (easiest to get too) to find out which type of cancer, and I believe what stage cancer. They’re pretty sure it’s lung cancer. He has an appointment with radiology next week to get radiation going on his jaw. The jaw is the hardest on him, as he can’t really eat and it's where all the pain is. January 20th Jason found out that he indead did have stage 4 lung cancer that has spread to his two adrenal glands and his jaw! On February 3rd Jason went back to ER with extreme chest pain. A scan showed found a new tumor on his sternum.  He has a biopsy on Friday of the lung to do more testing as to the genetics of the cancer.  We are meeting back with his oncologist to see what we do now that we know it’s spreading so fast.

He will not be able to work going forward. So, if anyone happens to know or have an "in" with a place for them to rent near Sherwood for cheap, that would a huge relief off their shoulders. As they can’t make rent next month on Mandie's income alone.

A Life Turned Upside Down!

my mother has stage 4 cancer and is in danger of losing her home. Some  medical bills are not covered and I need help to pay the  mortgage on the house. My father has been by her side and they have been out of work for well over a month.  As they have always been, they are in this together, as a team. I cant say how much they have done for so many others, I thought that it was time for me to do something, to say something to help them. If we can get through the holiday season and the first of the year I know they can bounce back.  Thank you!
