<div>Dear Friends and Family,
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>It is with a heavy heart that I share the news of the passing of my beloved brother Marcus Martin. Marcus was an innocent bystander killed in a Friday night shooting outside of Walmart.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>As you can imagine this is a huge devastation to our family.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Marcus touched the lives of so many with his kindness, love, unwavering spirit and his gift of music. As we navigate this difficult time, we are faced with the unexpected burden of funeral expenses.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>We are reaching out to our community for support during this challenging period. The costs associated with Marcus’ funeral and memorial services are significant, and we want to ensure that we can honor his memory in a way that reflects the incredible person that he was.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>We have set a goal of $17,000 to cover these expenses, the funds will be used for, e.g., funeral service, burial costs, memorial service, etc. Any contribution, no matter how small, will be immensely appreciated and will help us give Marcus the farewell he deserves.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>If you are unable to contribute financially, we completely understand. Sharing this campaign with your network would be a great help as well. Your support, whether through donations or spreading the word, means more to us than words can express.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Thank you for your love, prayers, and support during this difficult time. We are grateful for each and every one of you.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>With heartfelt gratitude,
</div>

Please Help us Honor The Life of Our Beloved Marcus Martin

<div>Hey Everybody! Craig's amazing donor heart has given him almost eight great years of life; his first transplant was on October 28, 2014. Unfortunately, his donor heart has developed Transplant Coronary Artery Disease, which is untreatable except by a second transplant. (Doctors placed stents in, but they are not sustainable long term). He has been in the hospital for over a month and will remain in the hospital on the waiting list until he gets a second lifesaving transplant.
</div>
<div>If you know anything about my husband, he is one of the strongest, kindest and most humble beings on this planet. As a musician/small business owner, his income is extremely limited while he is confined to the hospital. There is no way for us to predict how long his hospital stay will be; it could be weeks, it could be months upon months... Please help me help him ease his mind of his financial burdens. The physical pain and emotional toll of having to go through this process again are enough; I want him to focus on his mental health and physical healing so that he can make a full recovery. Additionally, once he gets his transplant, he will need to commute to Westwood for follow-ups. If you've ever been to Ronald Regan UCLA, you know that parking is $14 a day. I want to raise enough money so that he doesn't have to worry about his medical expenses, car payment, and other bills while he waits on his transplant and when he gets home to recover.
</div>
<div>Thank you in advance for any financial, emotional, and spiritual support you can give. I absolutely believe that we will see this through; we love and appreciate you all. Love and Light to you and your loved ones!

“The majority of LCISD is comprised of minority students—around 60% to be clear. With this in mind, you can understand the disbelief from students, us Black students in particular, when it was revealed our prom would be held at George Ranch Historical Park, a former plantation. <br /><br />2020 was meant to be a year of enlightenment, change, and understanding. So much effort was put in, specifically with the Black Lives Matter Movement, to educate people on the complexities of the way Black people must view society because our experience is much different than say, a white person.<br /><br />Now here we are in 2021, and Black people are being asked to dance on their ancestors graves.” - Zenobia Wiley <br /><br />
<p class="p1" style="line-height:normal;"><span class="s1">Creating a prom experience event is very expensive. Your generous donations will go towards the venue, rental fee plus taxes, decorations, vendors, CDC recommended COVID protocol materials (i.e. sanitizing stations, masks, thermometers, etc.) <span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>and all other costs associated with the event. This entire project is being spearheaded by two high school seniors simply trying to provide the prom experience we feel everyone deserves. Hence why donations are greatly appreciated.</span>
