Many of the people reading this will already know the story of Lou Benavides and how wonderful of a friend he is.  He has probably gotten you or your friends into many a show for free, hooked you up with merch, or just made you laugh. You may also know that he almost just died from the Covid 19 virus. Lou unfortunately WAS NOT one of the lucky ones that had very little to no symptoms... Lou was the one that wound up in the hospital, where he was told that if he had waited one day longer to seek medical attention that he would have not made it. Luckily, he did make it, but now begins a more difficult journey. Lou's medical bills are through the roof due to insurance being what it is, he has months of rehab in front of him. His lungs were hit the hardest during Covid and that’s been his primary focus since he’s been released from the hospital. He’s got an oxygen machine at home and a nurse that comes by regularly. While he’s making very good progress with that, he also has a myriad of other health issues that have also arisen because of Covid. Long story short, he has quite the hill to climb to reach full recovery. His breathing is getting stable, his speech is back, and he’s also regaining strength in his body. These are good things, and Lou is confident he can beat this.  But these things come with a price tag.


As you know, medical care is not cheap. And Lou is definitely not rich. He hasn’t worked in over a year, and now with the music industry slowly starting back up, he can’t return to work. So…….THAT'S WHY WE ARE HERE AND THAT'S WHY WE ARE ASKING FOR YOUR HELP! We are hoping to alleviate some of the financial burden that he has to take on. For a comparison, a vacation to Hawaii is cheaper than Lou’s eight day hospital stay.  It’s a big goal we’re setting, but it reflects the big burden that Lou has before him and I wouldn't have set it that high if it wasn't needed. If Lou has ever hooked you up with a spot on the guest list, a VIP Pass, or just an awesome night out we would love for you to consider a donation for a person that really needs your help. Help Lou fight his battle against Covid

On September 24th, 2020 my cousin Nichole Amaral, was traveling out of the country to Cancun, Mexico for her birthday with her boyfriend Matt Borek. While at the beach her and Matt decided to go into the ocean.  While they were swimming Nichole tragically lost her boyfriend Matt due to a massive wave that crashed down on him and broke his neck.  She has spent all of her money on the hospital and is now trying to figure out a way to get his body back home to the US. Nichole’s and Matt’s family have been trying their best to get all the funds to get him back but are short on the amount of money needed to get him back home.
















Matt was a father to one beautiful 3 year old boy, and his family is distraught by this loss. Nicole’s, and Matt’s family have been doing everything they can to get Matt back home to his loved ones.

We know Rick as the ever-positive, fun loving, glass more than half full, creative musician and family man who loves his friends, bands, Red Sox, craft beer and polar bear of a dog. We don't ever want to imagine a world without him and right now, he and his family are in need. Unfortunately this week (6/19), Rick was diagnosed with congestive heart failure and is currently under evaluation at the ICU. How symbolic that the man with the biggest heart had his own heart swell 3x the size of a regular heart -- the irony/levity isn't lost on any of us. We will continue to post updates as we get them (Bailey has been invited as a page manager) but the bottom line is the best case scenario for Rick is 6-8 weeks of bedrest with no work and no gigs to support their family. You don't want to know the worst case scenario. HELP A COLOMBIAN FINE ARTS STUDENT! (Para español, leer abajo.) Hi everyone! My name is Sara Pizarro and I am an artist who is in need of help right now! I'm from Colombia, and I came to the United States looking for new opportunities. After being an Au Pair and falling in love with Boston, I applied to the School of the Museum of Fine Arts (SMFA) at Tufts University and I was granted the biggest scholarship available, the Presidential Scholarship. Even though it's the biggest, this only covers 50% of my tuition and I'm still responsible for the other half. I love being in school, and I make it count. In one year I have been:  ⦁ Granted the Presidential Scholarship. ⦁ Selected to auction my art at the Medal Award Gala in of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston alongside James Turrel. (Bought by the Former Marketing Director of Emerging Technologies at Gillette/wife of the President of Capital One Bank). ⦁ Hired by Tufts to paint murals inside various school centers and painted murals inside SMFA as well. ⦁ Hired by SMFA to design products for them, including shirts, signage, and yoga mats. ⦁ Participating in competitions like the Springborn Scholarship, the Dean’s Research Award, the Summer Scholars Research Project, etc. ⦁ Selected for the Senior Thesis Program. ⦁ Selected to exhibit my artwork in the Dean’s office at SMFA. ⦁ Keeping a constant GPA of 3.5 or higher. Finding this money is not easy for anyone, but it's especially difficult for international students. I have always been hardworking, and I thought that I would be able to pay for school via working while studying. But the reality has been different. The working restrictions of my visa haven't allowed me to find the money to finish my degree. I can only work inside the school, for $11 an hour, for a maximum of 20 hours a week.
This  means I am only allowed to earn around $700 per month, and almost half of it (43%) is spent on transportation to and from school. The rest is spent on paying a school loan back, some food, and art supplies. I am an artist who was able to make money in Colombia with my art, and, now that I am in America, I am not allowed to use that as a means to make money (even though that's what I am going to school for). I have spent months figuring out how I'm going to pay for my last year of school. <div>I can feel the weight of that through the screen. Now, I know that David said this is not about money and he asked for help from us via spreading the word about what healthcare in the USA is doing to people, right now. So I started this campaign of my own accord on their behalf for 2 reasons: 1- I know he said this isn't about money, but that doesn't change the fact that if you're going to pay cash for healthcare in this country, it will quickly lead to mortgaging your house level hardship or worse. No one should suddenly feel that level of weight and burden on top of the pain, fear, sorrow and agony of the experience itself because of a broken healthcare system. There's no way these funds won't be helpful for them. And 2- If they wanted to, they could instead use these funds to promote and share their story to try and make an impact, as this was his request in regards to help from us. Perhaps even fund legal fees if they decided to go after the insurance company and hit them where it counts; in their wallet.
