My name is Emily, and I’m reaching out for help as I work to rebuild my life after spending 15 years incarcerated, from 2009 to 2024, following a domestic violence night gone wrong. Since my release last year, I’ve faced many challenges—without a home, a driver’s license, or even the basics to get by. I’m currently enrolled in school and waiting for my disability benefits to be approved, but every day is a struggle to meet my most basic needs. My health has made things even harder. I had spinal fusion surgery at age 13 due to scoliosis, and now I live with scoliosis, ankylosing spondylitis, and arthritis of my spine. These conditions make it difficult to work and care for myself. On top of everything, I have a beloved cat who has been my only companion through all of this. I want to give her the care she deserves, but I often don’t have the resources to do so. I’m asking for help to cover everyday expenses, secure safe housing, get a car, buy clothes that fit, and provide for my cat. Your support would mean the world to me. After years of struggling just to eat and care for my cat, this fundraiser could lift a huge burden off my chest and finally allow me to breathe again. Hello, My name is Emily Howard and I am raising funds for my kitten, "Baby". I saved her from a family who couldn't take care of her and her siblings and was going to have to put them outside. I, myself, am going through a very hard time financially due to the waiting process of state disability. This means I have no income coming in and no way to buy her healthy food to eat or take her to the vet. Going to the vet at this young age is imperative to her. I could go on about how my life is so unfortunate but won't because this fundraiser is for her. She is very loved and has it better than a lot of outdoor stray cats, although she should have a lot more than she does. She deserves to go to the veterinarian. She needs to be spayed as I CAN NOT take care of more kittens. I can barely buy food and litter for her, although I always make a way even if it means she eats before myself. I am asking for enough money to take her to get all shots, spayed, and hopefully enough to get her a supply of food for a while and some toys. Litter will be needed as well, although I am aware that this will add up to a lot. Please, anyone with a love for animals or a compassionate heart and could spare any amount of money towards her life; donate to her life if you can. If you can't, I completely understand. Following the completion of a 15-year sentence due to a tragic incident involving my late abusive boyfriend, my father, and myself as victims, I found myself in need of protection. The ownership of a vehicle would grant me independence and security, enabling me to escape unsafe environments and access necessary resources independently. RAISING FUNDS TO START LIFE OVER DESPERATELY NEEDING A CAR. I am asking for donations to start my life over after recently completing a 15-year sentence in state prison. I got this conviction due to a very unfortunate death. My boyfriend at the time was very abusive and drank every day. I reached out to 911 for help, although they didn't respond in time. He was beating me and my late father on this night. I am very sorry for this and feel that I have paid my dues. I have suffered from scoliosis since the age of 13, when I had major spinal fusion. Over the years of being locked up and sleeping on metal beds and walking on concrete in shoes with bad support, my condition has progressed on top of just aging. I now also have ankylosing spondylitis, which is causing me so much pain and causing sciatica 24/7. This is causing me to be unable to work. I am asking for your understanding and compassion and hopefully donating to my fundraiser to get a vehicle. Nothing expensive or fancy. Just a way to get to my medical appointments and to the local churches for food banks and clothing closets.
