<div>Growing up, <a href="https://nancymba.com/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Nancy Mba</a>—our founder at the Magnificent Smiles Foundation (Msmiles)—faced immense pressure to follow the status quo: early marriage or dropping out of school due to socioeconomic challenges. But she believed in something more. Through hard work, determination, and the power of support from organizations like the <strong>Mastercard Foundation, CAMFED and the African Gifted Foundation</strong> when her education was at risk, Nancy defied the odds.

<div>In 2023, she graduated from Ashesi University with First Class Honours in Engineering and the <a href="https://ashesi.edu.gh/ashesi-23-slc/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Presidential Award</a>, the highest distinction a student can earn from Ashesi University. She’s also been recognized by global institutions like the Talloires Network of Engaged Universities and the Kofi Annan Foundation for her impactful leadership and advocacy for children from underprivileged backgrounds and impact within and beyond the university community.

<div><strong>Why Msmiles?</strong>

<div>Msmiles was born from Nancy’s experience volunteering at an orphanage in 2021, where she lived with <strong><em>children who had no textbooks—and teenagers who had never even seen a computer</em></strong>. It reminded her of the inequalities she once faced.

<div>Today, Msmiles is on a mission to give <strong>underprivileged children and those in orphanages/foster homes across </strong>Ghana the chanhce to create their own success stories—<strong>just like Nancy did.</strong>
