<div>On July 25, Cam and Gracie welcomed baby Callahan, born at just 31 weeks. He was delivered via emergency c-section, due to heart issues that put him in dangerous distress. He was immediately taken to NICU, where he will stay for several more weeks.

<div><strong>The family faces large medical expenses</strong>, not only from the hospital but also from heart treatment after Cal is discharged. They visit him every day in the hospital, which is almost an hour away, and face ongoing travel expenses to do so. In addition, Dad’s time away from work is unpaid, and Mom’s will be unpaid after her recovery from the surgery.

Daniel Hawkins has been my best friend for the last ten years. For those of you who didn’t know him, he was one of the nicest and most down-to-earth people you could ever come across. He always could make you laugh or smile and would cross oceans to help you out if you were in trouble. On July 31st, 2023, Daniel tragically passed away. Not only did I lose my best friend, but I lost my best man, my brother, and my rock. His mother lost her son, and our community lost a friend. Daniel was an Eagle Scout with Troop 111 in Lincoln and a Civil Air Patrol Cadet with the McLean County Composite Squadron. He always dreamed of being a Marine and a Police Officer and loved to help people every chance that he got. The funds we gain will all be sent to his mother to help cover the cost of the funeral and any other expenses. Please give if you can. Every dollar helps.
