At home on Saturday Jan 25, after a great day at the youth fair with her husband Deputy Brett Hermelbracht and their kiddos,  Melissa Hermelbracht went to go for a ride on the ATV.... This was an everyday thing for the family, they always ride, nothing ever happens, nothing ever goes wrong- On Saturday, the throttle cable was stuck on "wide open"- Melissa didn't know- as she started it up, the ATV took off and she was pinned in between the truck and the ATV- her leg crushed.... muscles and tendons damaged beyond repair.... Melissa was transported as a trauma alert to LRH due to the severity of her injuries... since Saturday she has already had 2 surgeries and is going for her 3rd today... The doctor's still can't say with 100% certainty that she won't lose her leg.... there is still so much damage... We are hopeful and praying that they can stay ahead of the infection- that they can save her leg... Even with that, Melissa, Brett and their family are looking at weeks in the hospital, months of recovery and then physical therapy after that.... This Law Enforcement family is a 2-income family, and the temporary loss of Melissa's income will make this a struggle for them while she is healing.... We owe it to our first responders to be there in their time of need, because they never hesitate to be there when we call- Brett has given his life to serving in Law Enforcement, and Melissa has given her life to him and to raising their children and being an amazing LEO wife- Please help show them that IN THIS FAMILY, NO ONE FIGHTS ALONE! share this as many times as you can- let's get the word out that this family NEEDS OUR HELP! And please please please remember the entire Hermelbracht family in your prayers!

Wife of Polk County Deputy injured in ATV accident

Our Law Enforcement family NEEDS YOUR HELP!!        On Friday, August 16, 2019, Shelby Diaz was involved in a traffic crash on I-4 leaving this young mother of 4 and wife to Polk County Sheriff's detention deputy Martin Diaz, critically injured with a very long road to recovery ahead of her.  After some car trouble on I-4 had her parked on the side of the road, Shelby was in her vehicle when another driver hit her from behind at a high rate of speed.... Shelby's injuries are critical and life changing, not only for her, but for her entire family.      Shelby serves our community being an unsung hero, as the duties of a LEO wife is never an easy one, and being a mommy to 4 spunky babies under the age of 6 years old is an adventure in itself. We are expecting Shelby to be in the hospital for the next month or two, and Martin is not leaving her side as long as he can help it.    In this family, NO ONE FIGHTS ALONE!! We need to pull together and help this young family with anything that we can, to help them through this time, and ease any financial burdens that we can... That's the LAST thing that they should have on their minds right now... I've set this amount to cover the first 3 months of their household expenses..
