<div>My name is Max and I'm raising money in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support and every donation no matter how big or small will help. On Bank Holiday Monday 5th May 2025 I have chosen to race the WOR Mamble UKGNCC 6 hour event as this was the last event Dad raced and that we raced together in the “Dad N Lad” class.

<div>This year I will be racing the 6 hours solo in honour of our Dad.

<div>Dad was diagnosed with Esophageal Cancer in August 2024.



</div>



<div>Dad fought incredibly hard through treatment which started in September. He underwent intensive Chemotherapy and Radiotherapy, during this time Dad never once complained and continuously put everyone else first.



</div>



<div>We had the devastating news on 21st January that the Cancer had spread to his brain and he was given months, possibly weeks to live. Something we as a family could not comprehend.



</div>



<div>Sadly Dad passed away on 18th February 2025.

<div>be my hero, his hard work and determination to live a fantastic life and give a fantastic life to his Children and Grandchildren is nothing short of a miracle.

<div>I remember watching Dad win the British Over 40 Enduro Championship in 2002 and again in 2003. My old man, a Champion. Invincible.

<div>His grandchildren look up to him as their Hero. Skye, Loki, Lillie and Oakley love him more than life. And they meant everything to him.

<div>Dad always had time for everyone and warmed the hearts of so many people even though he was a man of few words and liked to keep himself to himself!

<div>I remember going to his workshop when I was younger and just thinking my old man is the coolest person alive.

<div>Dad made me promise him I would take over and ensure I look after everyone just in the way he did.

Race For Dad

<div>I never imagined I’d ever have to say this but unfortunately our Lewie has leukaemia again, it’s come back! We are absolutely heartbroken and devastated doesn’t come close!
</div>
<div>We will know more going forward but it’s a high chance he will need a bone marrow transplant. This mean being in isolation so split from the family AGAIN. And treatment will be at John Radcliffe in Oxford so much more fuel etc. Lewies dad is self employed and is obviously going to miss a lot of work while lewie is back on treatment. They have enough to worry about so I’m setting up this page to raise some money to help Katie and Ant with daily living costs, making memories as a family with Lockie and Willow too and anything else that should arise.

<p>Yesterday morning a friend to many and village local who was well known who most of us went to primary secondary school with, played out as kids sat up the park as teenagers and shared great memories as adults sadly passed away. This news was a shock unexpected and truely a heartbreak for everybody involved. James was a kind, caring lad who always would be the one to help carry shopping, wash cars and take trips to the shops to get stuff for people who couldn’t. He will truly be missed and it’s a great loss of a life that had many more years and opportunities ahead no matter what in the moment life was like! I’m reaching out to everybody who knew James who knows the family who shared these memories as children teenagers or adults with him to pull together to give him a send off as with the current situation and the circumstances that this was not something that was ever expected to happen funeral arrangement fees are struggled to be covered. 
</p>

<p>Let’s all do this to help out and make sure a local lad can stay in Wolston in his resting place have his ceremony in the church that he went to as a child and be surrounded by the people who knew him the best! No matter how small a donation it all will go straight to the funeral cost and the family. 
</p>
