<div>On the morning of November 5, a fire at Angelo's Pizza in Bangor triggered the sprinkler system at Relevé Dance Center, which is located in the same complex. This resulted in extensive flooding at the dance studio. Insurance will help cover some costs of the damage incurred, however it will not help with everything!
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Relevé Dance Center was founded a decade ago by Sarah Simpson and employs 5 incredible teachers. Sarah is an amazing, selfless woman, with many ties to the Bangor community. She is like a second mom to the kids who dance at Relevé. The studio is like a home-away-from-home for its 124 dancers, who range in age from 2-18 years old and come from many towns in the Greater Bangor Area. Many of them are at the studio for hours a day, even after a full day of school. It is a safe haven and a place where they can truly express themselves.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Relevé Dance Center is also home to the Relevé Competition Team. The 35 dancers on the team compete in 6+ competitions around Maine, New Hampshire, and Massachusetts each spring. All rehearsals for the team are held at the dance studio.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Not only has the water damaged the dance floors, costumes, shoes, furniture, music equipment, etc., it will also cause the studio to close until it is safe for dancers to return. This small, family run business is driven by revenue from the dance classes that are run there every day of the week. Donations from the Go Fund Me will help offset the costs of the damaged property, as well as the lost revenue so that Relevé Dance Center can come back better than ever!

Help Relevé Dance Center Recover from Flood

<div>Two weeks ago my mother (more commonly known as Aunt Rose Sharon) lost her leg, and very nearly her life,  in a tractor/bushhog accident while mowing the grass. To her, the biggest loss in all of this is not the loss of her leg but the loss of her 20 year long career as a pediatric nurse and being at the bedside caring for her patients at St.Jude. There is no doubt that caring for children and their families as a nurse has given her life meaning. So, we are making this fundraiser in the hopes that we can comfortably transition her from the nurse she was before to the nurse that she will continue to be. Both equal in value, just one leg less.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div> Being the strong and independent woman that she is, she has never had to ask anyone for much of anything until now. She is a loving caretaker by nature and she endlessly gives to those who are in need. It is most certainly not easy asking for help, but there are so many unexpected expenses when you go through a physically and emotionally life altering experience such as losing a limb.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>To ensure a smooth transition we will have to make major modifications to her home and vehicle. On top of managing her insurance co-pays and deductibles, the list goes on until she’s back to running around (with a prosthetic) as the bad ass nurse, aunt, and mother that she STILL is.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>Please keep Rose and her family in your thoughts as we try to help her regain a sense of normalcy in the aftermath of this event.

Rose’s Road to Recovery After Tragic Accident

Carlton Allen Strout Jr, passed away surrounded by his family on November 28th, 2020 after a long illness at the age of 63.<br /><br /> A proud Bangor football alumnus, he was a member of two State Championship teams and captain of the 1975 State Championship team. He graduated from Bangor High School in 1976 and continued to be an ardent supporter of Bangor High Athletics. <br /><br />In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Cameron Stadium renovation in Carlton’s memory.  Donations will be collected here and the family will direct the funds to establish a memorial in Carlton's name. <br /><br />Bangor voters recently approved a bond issue to renovate the Cameron Stadium complex. The renovation will include an artificial turf surface to replace the grass on the football field and an eight-lane, all-weather track. Several Bangor programs will be able to take advantage of the new artificial turf surface in addition to the football team. Both boys and girls soccer and lacrosse teams and girls field hockey will also be able to use it.<br /><br />If you would prefer to mail in a donation, please make the check payable to:<br /><br />Bangor School Department<br />Attn: Steve Vanidestine, Athletic Director<br />73 Harlow Street<br />Bangor, ME 04401<br /><br />Please note in memory of Carlton Strout in the memo or an accompanying note. <br /><br />The family thanks everyone for the outpouring of love and support.<br /><br />With love,<br />Judy, Kristan, Whitney, &amp; Jesse

<p>Katie and Kurt were in a terrible motorcycle accident Tuesday night. We lost Kurt, and he left behind Katie and their two beautiful boys, Brady and Justin.

</p>

<p>Katie is in the ICU, fighting for her life. She has had 2 emergent surgeries and many blood transfusions.

</p>

<p>We are all praying that she holds on and pulls through for her boys.

</p>

<p>I have the boys well taken care of between me and the rest of the family.

</p>

<p>Due to many requests, I have set up this GoFundMe to help Katie with her medical bills, to lay Kurt to rest how he wished, and to support the boys and their life, especially in the next few months.

</p>

<p>Your help is truly appreciated, and please, keep the prayers coming.

<strong>IN MEMORY OF CORPORAL E4 WILBUR E. BAIRD III "WILLY"</strong><br />A beautiful soul departed this world on January 5, 2016 when Willy passed away unexpectedly. A 34 year old Bangor, Maine native that bravely served his country as a proud Marine from 2002 to 2006. We all loved Willy's contagious smile, his sweet demeanor and wonderful character, but above all, how much he adored his family. So many of you have asked what more can be done during this difficult time. Please consider providing some comfort to the family he loved so dearly. We humbly ask you to consider donating to the Baird family during this heartbreaking time. We are hoping to raise funds to cushion the burden on the Baird family. The entire amount raised will be directed to provide a beautiful service to honor a hero's life.
