<div>With the shock and sadness of Kit's passing settling in our hearts, our thoughts go towards his true love and loyal partner of 23 years, Ruby.

<div>You may know that since leaving Victoria, Kit and Ruby have spent the last few years living a very simple, remote life in the Kootenay mountains. Their hardworking, industrious lifestyle in organic self-sustainability was a true testament of commitment to each other, and to LIFE on the planet!

</div>
<div>As they were in Victoria, they were in constant service to their community and were welcomed guests to any gathering, in which their generosity and company was joyously received and greatly appreciated.
</div>

<div>They were truly a formidable, lovable pair. A unit that inspired and loved many souls, connecting us all. They encouraged our bodies to dance and our spirits to shine, to be alive with them in celebration of music and PLURR!!
</div>

</div>
<div>Now the passing of events have brought many endings for Ruby. The tenancy of their cabin and the stalwart performance of their beloved van have both, after five glorious years, dissolved. Then, two and a half short rollercoaster months later, her dearly beloved Kit's sudden illness and passing.
</div>

</div>
<div>She really needs support now, in all the ways.
</div>

</div>
<div>With most of her family gone or estranged, it is with us, and dear to her heart, her chosen tribe, that she will survive and thrive through this traumatic and tragic time.
</div>

<div>As she is assisted in her grief and this period of tremendous change, she could use and would certainly appreciate a helping hand.
</div>

<div>Especially with this upcoming adventure of getting her to Victoria, to be with everyone that she loves, everyone that Kit loved, for Kit's Celebration of Life!

<span style="font-size:1.0625rem;">Hi, thanks for clicking on the link. The reason I have built this gofundme is for my partner Dakota. She is a queer indigenous transgender woman and  a wonderful human being which whom I love very much. She has been in transition now for 4 years. On May 4 it is her birthday and I was hoping to be able to start to gather funds for her feminization surgeries. I am aiming to be able to get her implants in her chin, a nose job and a bit extra so she may take the time to heal. fingers crossed we can make the goal and help out a fantastic woman who deserves it.</span><br /><br />For those who know Dakota know that she is one of the most selfless people out there. She is a frontline mental healthcare professional working in Vancouver's downtown eastside. She has changed and saved thousands of lives during the opioid crisis, this is no exaggeration. She has revived over 4 thousand people from overdosing. The stories I have heard of what she has been threw down there would make most people run but she has been working down there for over 5 years now. She is the definition of what a warrior spirit is. I see her as someone who will lay her heart out to others in their time of need while also being a rock for them. I honestly don't think she even truly knows how much she helps the world or the scope of how much she has been threw. This life of hers has not been easy to say the least. <br /><br />Ever since childhood she has had to go threw hardships of that which most people will never understand. Yet here she stands strong and wise. A shining light for those who have walked threw darkness. I hope with going threw with her transition that she will truly begin to feel how amazing, beautiful and strong she is. I will admit it is hard to watch someone you love so deeply not being able to see how truly magnificent they are. I see Dakota for who she really is on the inside and I want her to be able to transform into her ideal version of herself. I will not pretend to imagine how difficult it must be to wake up everyday look in the mirror and see a reflection of someone who isn't truly who you are.<br /><br />With that being said let us show Dakota that we see her, care for her and support her as she has done for us and our community.
