 For those of you who have the pleasure of knowing Ryan Chapman and Sarah Teno, you will know that they are an incredibly kind, fun-loving and exceptionally devoted couple of 12 years. In case you haven’t met them, they were recently married on Oct 25, 2025 and have resided in Atikokan since February of 2023. Sarah is one of our police officers and Ryan works at Domtar.

 On July 5th, after experiencing severe headaches requiring transport to Thunder Bay for further evaluation, Ryan and Sarah were completely blindsided and devastated with the worst news imaginable. Ryan was told he had a mass in his brain, which was confirmed to be Glioblastoma on August 24th. Glioblastoma is incredibly aggressive and unfortunately has a very poor prognosis. Ryan has had many complications along the way and the tumor cannot be operated on because of where it is located in the brain. Because of these reasons, cancer treatment cannot proceed. Ryan remains at the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre as he requires a higher level of care than can be provided in Atikokan, which is 200km away from home.

 I, along with other family and friends, decided to create a GoFundMe on behalf of Ryan and Sarah as well as their immediate family who have travelled from southern Ontario to be with Ryan and Sarah. Sarah has been unable to work and has had to make many trips to and from Thunder Bay. There are many costs associated with Ryan’s dire situation as with so many future unknowns. I am asking our community and friends and family of Ryan and Sarah to rally because right now, they need to see just how much they are loved by all of us. The financial support and kind messages will be something that will fill their hearts and will be remembered forever. No one should have to go through what they are experiencing, especially within the first year of their new life together. Please join me in helping this phenomenal couple as they navigate this terrible illness and what lies ahead.

Please Support Ryan & Sarah Through this Devastating Illness

On March 10th, 2019, fourteen year old Ella Richard was diagnosed with life threatening Lymphoma. They soon found out that the disease had spread from her neck to her armpits, both lungs, spleen and chest. This news has obviously devastated her family but she intends to beat this terrible disease and become  stronger  because of it. I realize money is tight but even $5 would make a difference for her family and parents Dan &amp; Shannon Richard who will have to miss work and live away from home while Ella battles this terrible disease. Any amount would be appreciated and if you can't donate, please  say a prayer for this brave young lady. Thanks in advance for any donations as they're more than appreciated! Todd Zacharias and Jenny were married in early August 2000 with the promise of a full life together. &#160;They had a young son named Bailey and another on the way. &#160;In Sept 2000 Hunter was born and everything seemed perfect.&#160; 
</p>

<p dir="ltr">In December 2000 Todd was diagnosed with Gardner's Syndrome. &#160;"Gardner syndrome, a variant of familial adenomatous polyposis (FAP), is an autosomal dominant disease characterized by GI polyps, multiple osteomas, and skin and soft tissue tumors. Cutaneous findings of Gardner syndrome include epidermoid cysts, desmoid tumors, and other benign&#160;tumours." &#160;He had his first surgery March 3 2001 where the surgeons gave him a pelvic pouch and a temporary Ileostomy, until he healed. He had his second surgery to save his life March 13 2001 when the pelvic pouch procedure failed and he went septic, at this time they made his temporary Ileostomy permanent.

<p dir="ltr">He has had repeated scopes every 6 months to once a year for the last 16 years. &#160;He has also been living with a chronic infection throughout this whole time. &#160;Numerous hospital stays for bowel blockages as well. 
</p>

<p dir="ltr">In January 2017 the news the family has been dreading for years has finally come. &#160;Todd was diagnosed with Colon/Rectal Cancer. &#160;He had scans done on Jan 23 and 24th. &#160;On Mar 2 2017 his picc line was inserted. &#160;Radiation and Chemotherapy treatments started Mar 6 2017. &#160;He is receiving radiation Monday through Friday and gets hooked up to his Chemotherapy bottle every Monday, which he wears until they put a new bottle on on the following Monday. &#160;<br>
They are also looking at possibly having surgery done in Toronto. &#160;The surgeon is still trying to get all his medical history together so they are unsure of when this may happen. 
</p>

<p dir="ltr">Todd and Jenny are having to stay in Thunder Bay at the Tamarack House Monday through Friday leaving their 16 and 13 year old boys at home with family help. &#160;Todd has had to take a leave from work and Jenny has been fortunate enough to have the support from her co-workers to be able to switch her shifts around, but leaving her to work double shifts on the weekends. &#160; 
</p>

<p dir="ltr">Todd has just finished his 2nd week of treatments with approximately 4 more weeks to go. &#160;Chemotherapy being finished the first week of April and Radiation being finished on April 12 2017. 
</p>

<p dir="ltr">Thunder Bay is 203km from home. &#160;Price of gas is $117.9/L. &#160;This is a costly journey for them as well as physical, mental and emotional. &#160;I am asking for help to help offset costs, give them a good meal here and there and help their household costs. &#160;Sick pay isn't there right away for you and that's the last thing you need, to be stressed about money when you need to concentrate on getting healthy.

I am a cousin of David McCallum's who was recently diagnosed with ALS. Medical expenses for this disease include large expenses for travel, medical equipment and home renovations to make it more accesible.<br />The money will go directly to David and his family to ensure he gets the proper care to make his life more comfortable. <br />We are having a social on April 2nd 2016 and would love to announce that evening how much we have raised.<br />Dave has been not like a cousin to me and my little sister as we were growning up but more like an uncle. It would mean the world to me to see some love and support for this wonderful, caring and big hearted guy! He's one of the funniest guys I know!  And boy can he show me up on catching some big walleyes!<br />Thank you for your kindness and generousity.
