Help My Family Escape the Danger in Lebanon

<p>Kandace Harry is a 39 year old vibrant young mother of 4 living in Victoria, BC. In October of 2019, she was diagnosed with cervical cancer and has spent the last year undergoing treatment including a radical surgery, radiation and chemotherapy. <br /><br />This past month, she was feeling confident in her recovery and was only one week away from heading back to work. That week she developed symptoms and has been recently declared Stage 4 Terminal. She has been given just 18 months.

<p>The goal of this fundraiser is to ease the financial burden of not only living expenses for Kandace and her family, but to open some treatment options for her in hopes to extend her life. <br />Money cannot fix her situation, but it can alleviate some stress so she can focus on building her immune system to its fullest before her palliative treatment starts. <br />It will gift her time with her children, fiancé and family without the constant worry of rent, heat, food, and medical expenses.<br /><br /><img src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/52282566_1604358998125034_r.jpeg" alt="52282566_1604358998125034_r.jpeg" width="100%" media_type="3" /><br />Her doctors have agreed that she should do anything that she can to try and fight this cancer, alternative medicine included. Her next surgery will be performed in one week on November 9, 2020. After Kandace has healed enough to leave the hospital, she plans to travel to a treatment facility in Mexico that will focus on boosting her immune system so she has the best chance at prolonging her life. After the 3 weeks of treatment, she will return back to Victoria to begin chemotherapy.

<p>Kandace is a hardworking woman pioneer in construction. She drove for Ocean Concrete and is the first woman to drive for them since the start of the company in 1939. She is a determined, if not stubborn person and if anyone has the conviction to outlive her prognosis, it’s her.

Imagine, for 2 years, fighting an infection, going from doctor to doctor with all of them pushing you off to a different “specialist”, offering no relief from the growing wound, the pain, the swelling in your hand so bad it leaves your entire arm useless, or the major frustration of no one taking control of the situation and actually doing something to stop it.<br /><br />Now imagine you go to a plastic surgeon expecting the same run-around, but he checks you into the hospital right then &amp; there. You spend a week scared and all alone (because of Covid restrictions) on IV antibiotics only to be told your elbow bone is completely dead from the infection that has been festering in your body while all these other doctors had just wrapped you in gauze &amp; told you to see someone else and your arm now needs to be amputated or the infection would ravage your entire body killing everything in it’s wake and of course, you.<br /><br />That, is the story of my oldest daughter, saved last week by an amazing team of doctors and nurses at Johns Hopkins… finally.<br /><br />She is a beautiful, free-spirited, loving &amp; giving young woman who is dealing with this with an amazing attitude and strength I can only be in awe of. <br />She has a long road ahead of her with recovery from surgery, beginning occupational therapy, acquiring a prosthetic, and learning to live life in a new way.<br /><br />I began this campaign for her to help with whatever extra expenses she’ll be incurring from this as she’ll be unable to work for awhile and her online store brings in a minimal amount. <br />Having money set aside this way will also help her feel a little more independent, supported and loved, all of which are things she needs right now!<br /><br />Thank you in advance for whatever support you can give
