 On the morning of July 19th 2026, Eric Danny Martinez “Jr” passed away peacefully in his sleep. At just 44 years old, Jr left a lasting impact on those he met.

 Eric was born June 27th 1982 in Santa Fe, New Mexico to Mary and Eric Martinez. He was the first of five children, followed by Stephanie, twins Cameron &amp; Sabrina, and Christopher.

 Eric was the life of the party and will be remembered for his captivating laugh. Everywhere he went, Jr either knew someone or introduced himself to strangers. Regardless of age, Jr made it a point to brighten the day of those around him.

 Children and pets were an important part of Eric’s life. Jr loved his nephews Brayden and Elijah, making it a point to play with them whenever they were around. Jr was the Godfather to Joshua , Isaiah and Iziquial. Eric was a wonderful big brother to his siblings, making sure to snap a picture of them in his hairnets. Throughout his life, Jr adored animals. He was known to carry around dog treats anywhere he went. Eric leaves behind his beloved Precious, his 15 year-old Shitzu mix.

Please Help 12-Year-Old Kailey After Losing Her Father, Joe

<div>Hi, I'm Mona Varela and <strong>David Varela is my husband of 26 years</strong>. David has faced health issues beginning October 22 of this year when he got shingles, which had him out of work for a while. Just as he was starting to feel better and slowly getting back to work, we both ended up getting Covid the week of Thanksgiving, which had both of us out of work for a couple of weeks. After one day back at work, David unfortunately had a stroke. He spent three days in the neuro ICU at UNMH, and a week at in-patient rehab. He now faces weeks of therapy and will be out of work at least three months. <strong>While he is on FMLA, it is without pay since the shingles and Covid ate into his sick leave and PTO.</strong> I will be working remotely when I can, but will need to drive David to doctor appointments and therapy. Needless to say, both of us being out from work is going to pose a hardship on us. If you are able to make a donation, we would appreciate it. We also are grateful for prayers. Thank you

David's Healing Journey Needs You

<div>Hello Friends and Family of Maria, and mine. Those who do not know me, my name is Felicia and my sister Maria is fighting the most horrific fight of her life. She is only 42 and has a 14 year old daughter named Erykah. Maria had just started working for the State of NM when she was diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer. The battle has begun and she started chemotherapy treatment but lost that state job due to the illness. With the loss of her job came the loss of her insurance.  The doctors office literally stopped her treatments until she has proof of insurance or can pay for the procedures up front. We are hoping this insurance issue will be resolved by next week.

<div>Maria has been misdiagnosed for almost 2 years now- living in pain, discomfort, and with a leaking tumor.  She was finally diagnosed with cancer in June/July and it still took her a month just to get a biopsy.  The cancer was found by her liver, pancreas, colon, both ovaries, and her intestine. So a 2nd biopsy was scheduled to determine it's aggressiveness. That test had errors but was noted that the cancer has now spread to more than those 5 spots.  After 2 weeks of trying to get an appt to retest, her oncologist made the decision to just start chemotherapy.  She started the chemotherapy and will also have immunotherapy treatments.  Friday, 11/3, she was supposed to have her blood work done but they cancelled it due to insurance coverage. They also canceled her chemo treatment that was schedule Monday 11/6- but we expect her to restart by next week.

<img src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/56572449_1620056940101434_r.jpeg" width="100%" media_type="3" alt="56572449_1620056940101434_r.jpeg" /><br />Hello friends and family,<br /><br />Some of you know a little about this beautiful precious baby, and For those of you who don't she is the daughter of my best friend Clarissa Garcia and her wife DeAndra Garcia-Gonzales and this is her story.<br />On December 11, 2020, Ayva Jordyn was born a micro preemie at just 25 weeks. She weighed 1 pound 8 ounces and was just a little over 11 inches long. After birth she was immediately intubated as she was not able to breath on her own. For the first several weeks of Ayva’s life, she fought hard for her life, and we never left her side. On January 20, 2021, Clarissa and I sat down with Ayva’s Doctors, nurses, Social workers, etc. and discussed the possibility of losing Ayva because she might not be able to fight, and we also discussed the possibility of being transferred to Denver at that time. Not sure what happened after that, but Ayva hit a turning point and starting to make huge progress with her breathing support. We were told that because Ayva was intubated for so long, she was going to have chronic lung disease and other issues could potentially come up. No matter what, we continued to help Ayva fight. On February 18, 2021, just a few days shy of Ayva turning 10 weeks old, she was finally extubated. She was doing amazing, and within a week she had progressed to less and less breathing support. She finally was able to completely come off the ventilator and just be on a Cpap machine, and on March 25, 2021 she came off Cpap and on to a high flow oxygen nasal cannula. Once she hit high flow, we along with many others in the NICU thought we were in the home stretch. We thought that she would continue to make good progress towards finally coming home. During this time frame not only was it official that Ayva had severe chronic lung disease, but we also found out that she had moderate to severe pulmonary hypertension, and after finding out about the hypertension, she was started on medication immediately. On April 13, 2021 Ayva was not doing well and was requiring more breathing support and ended up back on the least invasive ventilator and was requiring high setting support to help with her breathing. The discussion of having to go to the Children’s Hospital came back up, and it was decided that the best option for Ayva would be to be transferred. We were told that because Ayva was requiring high amounts of support, that she would probably need a tracheostomy to help with her breathing and continue to allow her lungs to grow, along with managing her pulmonary hypertension. On April 22, 2021 we packed up our things from our home NICU at Presbyterian Hospital and made our way towards our temporary home in Denver, Colorado. Since being at Children’s Hospital, we have already started to make huge progress, but we still have a long road ahead of us, and with that comes the cost of medical bills, food, gas, and lodging in Denver so that we can continue to support and be with Ayva during her stay at Children’ Hospital. If you are able to, we would appreciate any help that we can get, and we thank each and every one of you for following our journey. Ayva is such an amazing baby, and everyday she inspires us to fight and stay strong. When she comes home, we cannot wait for you all to meet her because she is going to be an amazing human being with such a big heart who will do amazing things in this world. Ayva Jordyn Garcia's Journey

We are rasing money to lay my sister to rest. 2 years ago she was diagnosed with bone cancer. Life has been so hard for her and her family. She left behind her only daughter and son in law and 2 grandchildren. With all the expenses of cancer they have no money to bury her.  If you can give any amount to help is it is greatly appreciated. Our hearts are broken are family has lost 3 people since December. With love and adoration we thank you so much.

You don't have to help, but if you can, we much appreciate it. It is not easy for me to ask for help.<br /><br />My family and I need help with accommodations, food, and medical bills. We also desperately need your prayers.<br /><br />As many of you know, my mother, Tina Locklear, passed away two weeks ago. I was the primary caretaker for my mother for all of my adult life. In the last months of my mother's life, she had two strokes, a heart attack, and was in Hospice. As many of you know, my mother believed in prayer and miracles. <br /><br />My daughter, Robyn, has been in and out of the hospital with Preterm labor for the last 3 weeks. Robyn started having early contractions around the days of my mother's passing. Robyn has a due date of September 6, 2020, and with many prayers, she will give birth to a healthy baby boy this Friday. Robyn is going to name her son Michael. Robyn is required to stay near the hospital here in Albuquerque, NM due to complications with his brain ventricles being enlarged. It is too soon for Michael to arrive. Sadly, we know that Michael may be born with complications. We believe with all of the heart and soul that Michael is going to be healthy.<br /><br />However, I need to prepare. Erin, my oldest daughter, and mother to my Grandson, James, suffered a severe asthma attack and cardiac arrest. The smoke from the forest fires created a problematic situation for Erin to breathe. After several nebulizer treatments, Erin succumbed to the attack. Erin's heart took twenty minutes to resusitate. The Espanola Emergency Technicians performed CPR and intibated her. Erin was Life Flighted to Albuquerque, NM.<br /><br />I thank God that Bear heard Erin thrashing about at the time of the asthma attack. Bear was able to place the cannulas from his oxygen tank on Erin's nostrils. Bear also called 911, flagged down the ambulance, and took care of James.<br /><br />I am praying for the health of Robyn and Michael. <br />I am praying that Erin does not have severe brain damage. <br />I am praying for my Grandson James, that his mama wakes up.<br />I am praying for Bear's health due to the poor air quality. <br />I am praying that I can pay the bills, including child care for James. <br />I am praying for my strength and courage to get up every morning and take care of my family.<br /><br />God does not give you more than you can handle. It is His strength that is getting me through this time. <br />Leona

Expenses for Daughter in ICU

For those of you that know me well; know that my dad and I were very close. I would love to able to give him a proper burial. I was able to provide him with a nice service for the rosary and funeral. He did have a life insurance, but unfortunately it wasn't enough to cover the entire expense. I'm hoping to have my dads ashes buried at the Memorial Gardens where he would be buried next to his brother "Uncle Lou".  My grandparents are also buried there and I know that Memorial Gardens is where he needs to be. I have talked to the Funeral Home and have made arrangements to have that spot saved for him. I have a deadline of February 15th to come up with the money needed to reserve the spot. I will then be making monthly payments after the 15th until the remaining balance is paid off. I would love it if family and friends can help me to get my dad to his final resting place.
