<div>Life has thrown many challenges our way. Despite these challenges, we believe the power of love, family, and community will support persevering through this new challenge. My dear little sis, <strong>Cheyanne, has recently been diagnosed with breast cancer</strong>. Our family and friends are rallying around her to ensure she gets the best care and support possible during this challenging time.

<div>For those who don’t know, this isn’t our first encounter with cancer. My wife, Mariana, triumphed over cancer eight years ago, and Cheyanne and I lost our mother to ovarian cancer in 2023. We have become far too familiar with the “c-word” and numerous steps in this process. For too many years, our family and I have had to keep preaching the need to simply focus on taking this process one day at a time, to stay focused on positive energy and thoughts, and to live in the beauty of every day.

<div>Cheyanne is not only my only sibling, but also a devoted wife to Matt and a loving mother to Annalise and Josephine. Together, they form a family full of laughter, resilience, and love. Cheyanne is incredibly healthy and fit, a true die-hard fitness enthusiast, and she has been tackling this battle head-on with strength and determination. Now, halfway through an aggressive round of chemotherapy, she still won’t skip a day without a visit to the gym, a healing session of yoga, or a quick trail run.

Cheyanne’s Fight Against Breast Cancer

<div>Prabjit and Mackenzie, my brother and sister-in-law, have always known that a child would be part of their future. Mackenzie has dreamed of becoming a mom for as long as she can remember, and by their third date, Prab knew he wanted to have children with her. From the moment they fell in love, they began shaping their lives around the desire to start a family.

<div>After more than six months of trying to conceive naturally, they turned to a fertility specialist for help. <strong>Testing revealed that Mackenzie has a uniquely diminished ovarian reserve (DOR) for her age, a condition that affects 10–20% of women under 40 and can make pregnancy more difficult. </strong>The news was devastating. Prab and Mackenzie never imagined having a child could be out of reach. After taking time to process the news, they sought second opinions, tried Chinese medicine, leaned on loved ones for advice and hope, and researched endlessly. Though some days felt hopeless, they held onto this belief: 'We don’t know how we’ll be parents, but it will happen.' In the end, they realized their only chance was to stay hopeful and keep trying, no matter what.

<div>Since starting this journey, they’ve spent nearly $3,500 trying to conceive: doctor visits, lab tests, ultrasounds, and intrauterine insemination (IUI). IUI involves Mackenzie taking medication to stimulate egg release and, if successful, placing Prabjit’s sperm near the fallopian tubes. Sadly, it was unsuccessful. Though it’s been a difficult and emotional process, they are putting all their savings toward continuing their dream of becoming parents, including the pursuit of IVF with Mackenzie’s eggs before considering donor egg IVF.

<div>It is amazing that we live in a time when IVF can give couples a greater chance of having a child. However, the process can be quite expensive, and it doesn’t always work the first time. Your donation would help offset financial costs for Mackenzie and Prab as they cope with the emotional medical journey in front of them.

Bring Hope to Mackenzie and Prab's Parenthood Dream

<div>Alix was life-flighted down to Salt Lake and is currently at the University of Utah Hospital. She had a seizure, which led to the doctors finding a mass in her brain. They formulated a plan to get her to SLC quickly to receive the best care. Her team in SLC are still running tests to determine the best course of action to treat the mass. We should have a clear plan in the next few days. She is remaining positive and strong, which is the Alix way!

<div>Alix and Sam are the first to drop what they do to help others. So I hope we can all help them in their time of crisis. Alix is the strongest person I know and is ready to take on what comes at her. Let's all rally behind her and send all positive healing thoughts her way.

<div>Sam and Alix will remain in SLC for a bit to allow her to receive the best treatment. She has a great team of doctors rallying around her and will make her as good as new. They will need financial support to be able to cover all their medical bills as well as their stay in SLC.
