Saving Urban Wildlife in The City of Wanneroo from Extinction – We Need Your Help! 
 
Across Western Australia, urban development is displacing thousands of native animals, leaving them injured, homeless, or at risk of being culled. Paws for Wildlife Inc. is taking action to create Australia’s first dedicated translocation centre—a purpose-built facility where wildlife can recover, adapt, and be successfully rewilded. 
 
But we can’t do this alone. We need your help to raise $6 million to purchase land and build the essential facilities that will change the future for Australia’s urban wildlife. 
 
A Groundbreaking Approach to Translocation 
 
Current translocation methods often fail because wildlife is moved too quickly into unfamiliar environments, leading to stress, starvation, and high mortality rates. 
 
Paws for Wildlife Inc. is pioneering a unique, staged translocation system to give animals the best chance of survival. Our approach ensures: 
 
✅ Family Units Stay Together – Preventing separation stress and social breakdowns 

✅ Gradual Habitat Transition – Animals move through different staging areas that mimic their final release environment 

✅ Species-Specific Adaptation – Each species is given the time and conditions needed to develop survival skills 

✅ Access to Natural Food and Water Sources – Ensuring animals learn to forage and find water before release 

✅ Ongoing Monitoring &amp; Support – Allowing for health checks and behaviour assessments before full independence 
 
Unlike traditional translocation, which often results in high fatality rates, our evidence-based model focuses on long-term success, helping animals adjust naturally and ensuring they thrive in their new environment. 
 
What We’re Building 
 
With your support, we will create a purpose-built translocation centre that includes: 
 
✔ A treatment centre – Providing essential care for injured and orphaned wildlife 

✔ Dedicated recovery enclosures – Safe spaces for animals to heal before beginning their staging journey 

✔ Naturalistic staging areas – Replicating different ecosystems to allow animals to adapt gradually 

✔ Soft-release zones – Preparing wildlife for full reintroduction into protected environments 

✔ Rescue and response facilities – Equipping teams to handle large-scale translocations 

✔ A community education and training hub – Teaching conservation skills and involving the public in wildlife protection 

✔ Volunteer and research programs – Supporting the next generation of conservationists and ensuring ongoing improvements to translocation methods
