<div>On June 7, 2024, Michelle Osburn, a single parent of two teenagers (Mason, 13; Bella, 17) and local real estate agent, got into a horrible car accident.  While driving in between appointments to show houses on 114 in Rensselaer, the front driver’s side of her car was struck by a semi-truck.  Michelle had to be extricated from the car and sustained several significant injuries.  Her injuries have included a broken femur and collar bone as well as fractures in her C-7, T-1, and T-2 vertebrae.  Her leg had to be placed into traction until she was able to have surgery to stabilize her femur with a rod/screws.  She was also diagnosed with a traumatic brain injury, which has caused memory loss, confusion, and continued visual disturbances and dizziness.

<div>Michelle was hospitalized for 14 days.  During her hospitalization, she had to have multiple tests completed, such as CAT scans and MRIs.  The hospital’s recommendation was to release Michelle to an in-patient rehabilitation facility, but due to insurance limitations and lack of resources, she could not be placed in a rehabilitation facility.  Intensive therapies, will be needed in order for her to learn how to walk again and be able to perform other simple tasks of daily living independently.  All further therapy appointments will need to be paid out of pocket due to insurance restrictions.  Michelle currently needs support for all tasks of daily living, such showering, getting dressed, walking, etc.  Her at home support includes her two children and family.

<div>Today is the worst nightmare for any parents to go through…Kathy and Kevin O’Connell have to let their daughter go and be with her late Father Lance Baur.Teresa has been in ICU for the last 5 days and today all test results have confirmed that she does not have any brain activity they have made the tough decision to remove her off of life support this evening. Teresa will be surrounded by her family and friends. She is an amazing person who always has a smile on her face. She has a heart of gold and truly is a genuine soul. Unfortunately she is 32 and has no health or life insurance. Anything that you can donate to help with hospital, funeral and any unforeseen expenses that will occur will be greatly appreciated. Teresa’s Final Arrangement Expenses

<div>On Friday, February 25th, God received an angel. Sgt Chris Kostoff passed away. He was a dedicated police officer of the Lake County Sheriff’s Department for 20 years. He is survived by his Wife Tara, of 23 years, his 3 children Grace (20), Christian (17), Olivia (12). Tara is a special education teacher at Crown Point High School. Grace attends Valparaiso University and will be joined by Christian this coming fall. Olivia is a 6th grader at Taft Middle School. Sgt Kostoff deserves a memorial to honor him not only as a loving family man, but also for all his years of public service as a dedicated police officer. We’re asking for help through donations to cover the cost of the funeral services and the cemetery arrangement expenses. Any amount of donation is greatly appreciated. Thank you all and God Bless.

With a heart filled with grief,it pains me to reveal that my relationship of 37yrs plus with Carolette R. Scott has come to a end. After her long battle with breast cancer ,she passed away Oct 14 ,2020 Due to unforseen circumstances such as job loss ,health care and medical expenses,it saddens me to admit I am unable to afford a proper burial for her services at this time. Death Burial

October 22nd Bruce's home had a fire. The house and all its contents were completely ruined by fire and smoke. Bruce lost everything except the uniform he was wearing on his way home from work. He is dealing with the insurance- but sentimental property can never be replaced. He is now forced to live somewhere else while his home has to be rebuilt for the next 8-10 months. Bruce has always been the first person to step-up and help others, now he could use our help and appreciation. Please help if you can and please share to others in our LE family. Thank you.

Help for a Brother in Blue Bruce Hager

Calin is 12 years old. He was shot Friday evening, August 3rd, while sitting at the kitchen table playing a game on his computer. The bullet came through the porch then through the window striking his right side. The bullet pierced his liver, intestines, and spleen. He was taken to Scottish Rite Children’s Hospital and is still in critical condition. His mom is a single mother of 4 and will need as much prayer and financial assistance as she can get. She will be unable to work and will have to support her family during this trying time. This family has a long and difficult road ahead of them. Please donate what you can to Calin’s fund.

Craig has worn two uniforms in his short life, green and blue, he has served his country and the great state of NSW, Craig our friend, mate, brother, son, soul mate has been dealt a cruel blow, while living his passion for motorcycles he has had a terrible, life threatening accident, Craig lost his right leg "on site" in the accident, if not for the the quick actions of Craig himself our mate Tolly and Andrew and his team from Ambulance Service NSW he wouldn't be here today, Craig has the spirit of a thousand souls and the heart of a lion, Andrew said "your the bravest man we've ever met" there is no happy reattachment story, Craig has ended up losing his right leg above the knee, we as friends, mates, brothers on motorcycles, work colleagues, family and soul mates need to come together and donate to cover the numerous and ongoing expenses involved with this type of traumatic injury, artificial limbs, home modifications, vehicle modifications etc do not come cheap, please donate, anything from a gold coin up is appreciated.

Craig Judge needs our Help

Madison is a 12 year-old girl that was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma at the age of three. She was in remission but relapsed in 2011. The tumor is sitting dormant at the base of her spine. Although the tumor is not currently active it is causing her pain. The tumor is embellished in her muscle and pressing on her nerves causing her to have extreme hip and lower back pain.  Not only does Madison deal with her hip/back pain she also has profound hearing loss. In October, Madison was diagnosed with Papilledema, it's the accumulation of spinal fluid on the brain. It causes swelling to the optic nerves making her vision blurred and double. She has been physically unable to attend school since September 28, 2016. The treatment requires that the fluid be drained to a safe level through a lumbar spinal puncture. She is in the hospital waiting to have her third spinal puncture. The affects of chemotherapy on a child's growing body are horrible. I pray and know God will see her through this. Families need emotional support during the treatments. The funds will be placed in an account titled "The Magnificent Madison Foundation".
