<div>Firstly, I'd like to introduce myself: My name is Laura McKeen, and I am proud to say I am a close and dear friend to both Laura and Paul Anderson, for whom I am setting up this GoFundMe page.

<div>As many of you will know, Laura was diagnosed with a rare and incurable stage 4 neuroendocrine tumour in the pancreas with metastasis in her peritoneum back in July 2020. Initially, Laura commenced chemotherapy treatment in Edinburgh. Unfortunately, Laura's bone marrow did not tolerate it well, and she only managed 7 out of the 12 sessions, leaving her in a very vulnerable situation with little to no treatment options available in the UK.
</div>
<div>It was in July 2021, Laura sought alternative treatment at the Hope4Cancer Clinic in Cancun, Mexico, where she started immunotherapy and specific protocols with the hope of stabilising the disease and preventing further progression. Through the ongoing support and generous donations, Laura was able to purchase the necessary equipment to continue her protocol at home in Edinburgh and until recently, it had proven to be effective in stabilising the main neuroendocrine tumour.
</div>

<div>In July 2022, Laura commenced PRRT (peptide receptor radionuclide therapy) in Glasgow under the care of her NET specialist team. This is targeted radiotherapy to treat the extensive peritoneal disease as well as, the spread to her lymphatic system and liver. Laura completed the PRRT, but once again had adverse effects on her platelet count and her overall quality of life due to the side effects of the treatment.
</div>

</div>
<div>This brings us to the present situation and the challenges that Laura and Paul now face.
</div>
<div>Unfortunately, after a recent emergency CT scan in December, it has shown extensive growth to the liver lesions, which until now were stable. This is a huge cause for concern for both Laura and her oncology team.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Time is now of the essence to try and do everything we can to get Laura the treatment she so desperately needs and deserves. At present, we are looking into further immunotherapy treatment in Mexico and Germany. One of which is the Williams Cancer Institute in Mexico, which has ongoing studies and treatment options available, including intra-tumoral immunotherapy for Laura, but with a starting cost of £140,000. 
</div>

<div>Throughout her initial diagnosis and new way of life as it were, Laura has continued to show strength and courage. She is a true fighter, which is why we need to get behind our girl and do everything we can. 
</div>

<div>We are raising money for the sudden and tragic passing of Luke O'Reilly who made us smile and laugh every time we would talk to him. <p>Hello everyone:)<br /><br />We are a family from Navan, Meath and I have created this page for my son Nahyan my precious beautiful boy.<br />He was diagnosed with metastatic Neuroblastoma a very rare and aggressive form of cancer in may 2020.<br />Nahyan has High risk stage 4 NB cancer which has survival rate of only 40%. <br /><br />Since the diagnosis we have been through hell and back. Nothing about this journey has been easy. We were given an 18 month treatment plan including Chemotherapy, stem cell transplant, surgery, radiation and immunotherapy. Nahyan is now in the last part of treatment I.e immunotherapy.<br /><br />My real life superhero Nahyan has fought this battle with courage and strength and tears and pain. <br />He is still fighting this monster everyday and has developed countless longterm side effects from the treatment. still we have no other option but to keep going.<br /><br />Once Nahyan finishes his treatment in Ireland we are working hard to get him on the Bivalent Vaccine trial at MSK Cancer Center, New York. It is the only pediatric tumor vaccine in existence.<br /><br />As the relapse rate for NB stage 4 is around 60% and if a child relapses there is no known cure and treatment that works. Help Nahyan fight cancer

Hello, my name is Shauna and my aunt is Carol Brennan, and we urgently need your help. <br /><br />Carol is a single mother of 3 children, 2 of which are still in school here in Dublin, Ireland, and she is also an amazing grandmother. She has battled cancer 3 times already; breast, bone and pancreatic cancer. Carol is not about to give up just yet, she wants to beat this 4 times! <br /><br />She has now been diagnosed with an aggressive pancreatic cancer with cancer also speckled in her lungs and in her stomach. The treatment she needs to survive is only available in Mexico and her doctor has urged that she gets treatment in Mexico as soon as possible. <br /><br />To breakdown our €130,000 goal, the cost of Carol's treatment is as follows: <br />-Carol will need a range of specialised treatments, 6 days a week. (eg. Photo Dynamic Therapy, Sunivera Immunotherapy and Sono-Photo Dynamic Therapy, among many other high cost therapies) <br />-Miscellaneous medical expenses, ie X-rays / scans / medications <br />-Accommodation at the Hope4Cancer institute. <br />-A series of flights to Mexico, which will include stops to Paris or Holland, then Mexico City, then finally on to Cancun (x2)<br />-Food and personal items for a 6 months (in two 3 month instalments).<br />-Travel costs.<br /><br />Carol is travelling to the Hope4Cancer centre in Cancun, Mexico, the world-renowned cancer treatment centre. They offer the latest and safest non-toxic cancer therapies which are proven to be more more effective than conventional chemotherapy they offer here in Ireland.<br /><br />Hope4Cancer's combined therapies may give Carol a 78.9% chance of surviving (based on Hope4Cancers own research, see this link to read more - <a href="https://hope4cancer.com/about-us/hope4cancer-survival-rates/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Survival Rates.)</a> This gives Carol a much better chance of survival. Because as of right now she has a zero chance of surviving if she stays here in Ireland.<br /><br />Putting it plainly, this GoFundMe is Carol's last hope. We know times are tough but we really appreciate any donations, no matter how big or small. Again, this is Carol's fourth time battling cancer, though she has never had to resort to fundraising to cover the cost of her treatment. Unfortunately, this time the costs are just too colossal to take on by herself. <br /><br />Carol is really pushed for time as she has discontinued her chemo here in Ireland, as was advised by her Doctor and therefore the clock is ticking against her. Help Mother of 3 (Carol) Get Life Saving Treatment

My name is Kim and I have been a nurse/midwife for the last 10 years. I'm sitting here in hospital A&E with my beautiful husband waiting to see a doctor, as Padraig has again had a stroke like episode the third one since November . We have 3 children under 6. My beautiful husband Padraig was diagnosed with a grade 2 oligodendroglioma in 2010 and has had multiple awake craniotomies, biopsies, radiotherapy and a full year of PCV chemotherapy. We have struggled at times during this awful journey but never given up. We fought a long battle to get a medical card for Padraig which a local TD helped along the way. I have worked so hard this past 7 years looking after the sick in my daily job as a nurse and never have I asked for anything from this country/state. I have fed and clothed my children,  paid my mortgage and health insurance every single month without fail. We applied for the long term illness scheme to pay for his anti seizure medications but were denied, stating that he does not fall within the minister for healths criteria for the scheme. This was another hard blow along with all the others. I've emailed the minister for health but never received a reply. In recent weeks Padraig has become more unwell and the prognosis for this tumour is 10-15 years. He has no life insurance as nobody will insure him. Our whole married life has been this tumour, it is all that our children have ever known. All I do is work, work and work to keep us afloat, while he stays at home. We cannot make any special memories, special trips with the kids as we are just paying bills and barely existing. We met with Padraig consultant neurosurgeon a few weeks back who recommended that Padraig not be left alone with the children due to the unpredictable nature of his tumour regrowth and the stroke like seizures that cause him total right sided weakness and speech deficits. He recommended that I reduce my hours in order to be at home, reading between the lines I detect it may be the beginning of the end of this journey. So I now sit here in tears wondering what exactly am I supposed to do, bills have to be paid, kids have to be looked after and eat and I also need to make memories and spend time with the love of my life before it's to late. So what's available for a family like ours?? Every payments are means tested and according to them 'I earn too much' but I'm barely treading water. Padraig has began writing his story which he hopes he can make into a book that will make enough money to pay our mortgage as that's all he wants to do for me and the kids as he has no life insurance/ no mortgage protection. He is 33 years old and has lost so much time to this tumour already. I asked him awhile back what he would like to do if we had the money, he would love to have a honeymoon as we never got one as he was just post surgery. He wants to see New York, wants to bring the kids to Disneyland and make magic memories. I have promised him that I will do my best to try and make something happen for him. I'm still not sure what I'm sending you this email, but I'm sick of doors closing, we need something good to happen. I'm so sick of this tumour it has not only invaded Padraig's brain but also invaded our lives. I just want to grow old with Padraig and watch our children grow up. Im so proud of Padraig as he has been through hell and back and has never complained never faltered, but the cracks are beginning to show.
