</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>

<div>A young boy with Down syndrome urgently needs a life-saving heart operation. He, along with his mother and siblings, arrived through a humanitarian organization from Gaza, which lost everything in the bombing attacks and desperately needs support.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Normally, the boy would have received a free operation through insurance in Jerusalem. However, due to the war, this is no longer possible. The family managed to secure a modest apartment in Egypt with their last savings, but these funds are dwindling, and they are in urgent need of assistance, especially since their son requires vital medical treatment.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>My name is Sofian, I am half Palestinian and live in Germany. Reman, the mother of the boy, is a friend from Gaza who has asked me for help. Faced with their profound desperation, lack of documentation, and nearly depleted financial resources, I am trying to assist them and ensure they receive the necessary financial support for survival and the operation. I will ensure they receive the money.

<div>Dear Friends, Family, and Compassionate Supporters,
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>My name is Rocio and on January 8th, my aunt, Rosa Lopez, and my cousins, Maribel Lopez-Navarro and Bobby Lopez, lost their home and their entire neighborhood to the fires. The Lopez family’s cherished home on Wagner Court in Altadena, California, was tragically destroyed in the Eaton Fire. This house, built in a close-knit, working-class neighborhood, was the legacy of Roberto Lopez, a devoted husband and father who left this world too soon. His hard work along with his wife Rosa's love and dedication, gave their family not just shelter but a place filled with love, memories, and a home to hope and dream.
</div>

<div><br />
</div>
<div><em>(The Lopez family at home)</em>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>At the time of the fire, Rosa Lopez shared the home with her adult son, Bobby, who has special needs; her daughter, Maribel; son-in-law, Rafael Navarro; and their two young daughters. Maribel grew up in this home and had returned with her family not only to help her mother care for Bobby, but also to give her daughters the chance to experience the love and safety that this home and this community had provided to her and her siblings. A safe and loving environment, generations came together to support one another and to create even more wonderful and lasting moments.

</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>The Eaton Fire has displaced three generations of the Lopez family, forcing them to navigate a devastating loss. Bobby is immunocompromised &amp; had to miss his appointment for IV infusions due to the evacuation and is in critical need of his continued treatment. Yet, their resilience shines through as they begin to rebuild their lives and your support is vital.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Your contribution, no matter the size, is meaningful, and aids in bringing hope and stability back to the Lopez family by:
</div>
<ul>
<li>helping them navigate the many challenges of recovery and facilitating stability and hope during this difficult time.
</li>
<li>covering unexpected costs that might not fully be covered by other sources of aid.
</li>
<li>ensuring that Bobby receives the ongoing care he needs and helping the family create a safe, nurturing environment as they rebuild their lives.
</li>
</ul>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>If you can’t contribute financially, sharing this campaign with your friends and community would mean the world.
</div>
<div>Thank you for your kindness and generosity. Every bit counts and we can help the Lopez family rise and rebuild their lives together.

<div>Hello,
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>I'm Saqib, and I'm reaching out on behalf of Lubna Afana, a resilient Palestinian woman, and her family. Here’s her story:
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>My name is Lubna Afana, and I hail from the Gaza Strip. As an aspiring interior designer, I once harbored numerous dreams and aspirations, much like anyone else in the world. I endeavored to contribute to the betterment of my country and provide for my family. Despite my diligent efforts and meticulous planning, our dreams were shattered by the sudden onset of war.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Now, I find myself without a job. The occupation has ravaged my workplace, obliterated our homes, and forced us into displacement. We are left with nothing amidst the chaos of fear and destruction, with the constant threat of rockets and bombardments looming over us every hour, every minute.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>In these dire circumstances, I humbly seek your support for myself and my family. With your help, me and my family can escape the ravages of war and secure a safe haven where we can rebuild our lives free from violence. With your assistance, I hope to evacuate my family to Egypt where we can live in peace and enabling me to resume my work and provide for my loved ones.

<div>URGENT UPDATE: Help Asia Heal
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Hello friends,
</div>
<div>I recently suffered a serious injury. While cooking lunch for my family, an explosion shook our area. In panic, I fell down the stairs and broke my leg in two places.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Now I’m struggling to walk and need crutches, food (like eggs and milk), and nutritional supplements to support my recovery.
</div>
<div>But here in Gaza, prices are incredibly high — one egg costs $6, and a carton of milk is $50. It’s almost impossible to afford the basics.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Any help — even a small donation — means the world to me.
</div>
<div>With hope and gratitude,
</div>

<div>Urgent Financial Assistance Needed for Displaced Family From Gaza
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>I hope this message finds you well. My name is Asia I once enjoyed beautiful and stable lives, and I have my own job and sources of income, cherishing moments with my family exploring cafes and tourist spots, capturing memories with photographs.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Unfortunately, everything changed for the worse after the events of October 7th. We lost our homes, stability, and livelihoods, finding ourselves in tents for displaced people in the Rafah camp in the Gaza Strip. Life became a daily struggle for survival, and our once joyous gatherings turned into the pursuit of basic necessities like collecting firewood for meals.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Now, we are in desperate need of immediate financial assistance to cover essential matters:
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>1. **Personal Expenses:** As we are currently without jobs, we are struggling to meet our daily personal expenses.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>2. **Clothing and Bedding:** Having left everything behind during forced displacement, we urgently need funds to purchase clothing and bedding.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>3. **Transit Costs:** We require financial support for the transit from Gaza to the Rafah crossing.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>4. **Short-Term Accommodation:** Renting an apartment in Egypt for a short period is crucial for us to plan our next steps.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>5. **Travel Tickets and Accommodation Costs:** Funds are needed for travel tickets and other accommodation costs as we seek a safer and more stable environment.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>6. **Starting Over:** Additional support for some basic expenses to help us restart our lives.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Your assistance in any form would make a significant impact on our ability to overcome these challenges. Your generosity can provide us with the means to secure shelter, food, and the chance to rebuild our lives.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>We genuinely appreciate your consideration and understanding during these difficult times. Please do not hesitate to reach out if you require any further information or clarification.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Thank you for your time and support.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Sincerely,
</div>

<div><br />
</div>
<div>Hello everyone!
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>I’m Brittany from Southern California. I’m trying to help Asia and her actively displaced family in Rafah/Nuseirat raise money to start their displacement all over again. They finally raised enough money and got on the list to evacuate when the Rafah crossing was destroyed and now must find new amenities to survive all over again. My heart sunk when I heard the news. Every basic need is triple the price or more than usual and she and her family need help in any way possible.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Asia and I do not know each other but I have been following her account for a few months and have been talking, donating and sharing her stories the best ways I can. We love both adore food and hopefully one day will get to cook together. This is my first GoFundMe and whatever funds we raise will go straight to Asia and her family as the beneficiaries. Anyone’s help is immensely appreciated. Thank you for your kindness and humanity! It’s so important and we need to remember how interconnected all of our lives are.

Urgent Assistance for Asia's Displaced Family

<div>Writing this message on behalf of my friend who is a black trans sex worker. Last night around 4am a former client broke into her apartment and held her at knife point before proceeding to sexually assault her. The following morning she was taken to the clinic to get a kit done and file a police report to hopefully catch this man and prosecute him for his actions. In the mean time, this has left both her and her roommates extremely traumatized — she is unable to continue working and considering this was her only source of income, we are reaching out in hope that we can allocate some funds to help keep her secured till she gets back on her feet. We are extremely saddened by these circumstances and urge all of you to check in on your friends and stay safe. Any donation helps, thank you all ❤️

URGENT - BLACK TRANS SW ASSAULTED AT KNIFE POINT

<div>This fundraiser is to help our family pay for funeral and travel expenses related to bringing Darius Smallboy back home to our homelands to be laid to rest.
</div>

<div><br />
</div>

<div>When our people experience sudden and traumatic experiences like this in an urban environment, there is often a lack of resources available to help with matters like this. We are eternally grateful for all of the support from the community during our time of need.

</div>

Funeral and travel expenses for Darius Smallboy

<div>Please donate to help a soon-to-be mom who would like to remain anonymous. This is a loved one of someone close to me. She's 21, Indigenous, queer, and in her third trimester of pregnancy. She lives in a province without the resources of big urban centres. She has no family support and is recently homeless. Funds raised will go to help her and her partner secure housing. She has limited funds and we want to help her with finding and getting settled in a new home, while she sorts out eligibility for maternity/parental EI and waits for those (modest, inadequate) payments to kick in. She wants to provide a stable home for her child and is worried about how far along she is in her pregnancy without somewhere to live. Some challenges this young person is facing include navigating tragic loss and coping with mental health struggles.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>She is family of someone we lost to the drug war and we have a chance to help her on their behalf. We're asking for an amount that will cover 3 months average rent plus damage deposit. Anything raised over and above that amount will be used for the family's needs. Even $5 helps but we also appreciate you sharing this on all your social media accounts and in your email to your friends/family with money. Let's support this young person's family, relieve some stress and help them welcome home their baby!

Help a Young Indigenous Family Stay Together

<div>Hi,
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>My name is Daniel Code, and I'm a black filmmaker from Vancouver, Canada. I wrote a short sci-fi, script called 'Defining Human' that explores themes of Afrofuturism. I wrote this story as a way to create black content and build more black characters in the world of sci-fi and action cinema.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>I'm seeking your help to share, like and hopefully contribute funding to help me produce this fantastic project.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>I have worked in the film industry for 20 years and most of my filmmaking discipline has come from producing and production managing. During this time, I've only had the opportunity to direct my own work a handful of times.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Here is a list of films and work that I'm proud I've been apart of.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><a href="https://gem.cbc.ca/media/colour-study/s01" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Colour Study</a> -Award winning short film for the CBC

</div>
<div><a href="https://anthemjackson.com/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Anthem Jackson</a> - Personal production company partnership
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Directing cinema comes with practice and it takes a lot of money, time and people to make it possible. My goal is to keep working as a director to build more opportunities in the future so I can eventually write and direct feature length films. Making "Defining Human' is one step towards a successful career that prides itself in making diverse content with diverse crews.

<div><strong>Synopsis </strong>

<div><br />
</div>
<div>Mia, a young astronaut, trains in an elite space program called Arrow IV with the ultimate goal of preparing humanity for life on another planet. In the year of 2045, the earth has reached its environmental breaking point and black communities have never been so segregated as the air quality has diminished to dangerous levels. Mia's father Philip, who has supported her in her dreams of eventually reaching space will not survive before Mia returns. Mia must make the difficult decision whether to leave behind her father and community or realize a racially just society on a new planet.

DEFINING HUMAN- A short film about Afrofuturism

<div>It is with heavy hearts that we are making this gofundme to support funeral expenses for the family of Bethany Sunday Shortt, traditional name Scwicwéye. Our communities have suffered a great loss of one of our young front line leaders. Scwicwéye fought to defend her homelands of Secwepemculecw, the communities of the DTES, and Indigenous lands everywhere from state violence, pipelines, deforestation, gentrification, land theft, and industrial devastation. She faced arrest and incarceration to hold the line against industry and demonstrate her commitment to futures where Indigenous lands and bodies are not secondary to profit. She believed in land protection by any means necessary and unapologetically defied settler colonial land destruction. Scwicwéye’s work reflected a future without prisons and pollution. Her warrior spirit and visionary mind fed movements, questioned colonial authority, mobilized youth, shut down financial offices, tended fires, and connected her to many within our communities who hold her as family. She found joy and belonging in Secwepemculecw; She spoke of building pithouses, fishing, wild horses, and dreams for her homelands. Her journey to connect to her lands and peoples reflects what it means to be learning and growing as a queer Secwepemc youth. Scwicwéye demonstrated the importance of solidarity between queer/2S youth within Indigenous resistance. She knew that the work she was doing would bring great personal pain, but did so in defence of future generations. It is in these moments that we reckon with the struggle and great personal toll it takes being a young Indigenous land defender fighting courageously for futures we may never know. Our community is struggling to come to terms with this loss, and we need to reach out to the wider world for support. Bethany’s / Scwicwéye’s family is now in need of funds to bring her home safely, and put her to rest in a good way that honours her Secwepemc ancestral belonging. Please donate generously, and share widely. Her work benefits each and every one of us, and so now it’s time to thank her by ensuring her next transition is peaceful.

</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>He was acting as the designated driver for some friends, when their car slipped on the ice and got stuck in a snow bank. Constables Ben Donockley and Kyle Kwasnica showed up — they arrested Godfred without due cause and put him into into their vehicle.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>They drove him away from his home and DROPPED HIM OFF IN -28°C snowy Calgary weather at a construction site where there was no one. (Did I mention he is from Ghana and was only wearing a track suit and it was 3:45 in the A.M.?!!)
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>He called 911 for help, but they told him it was for emergencies only and hung up.

<p dir="ltr" style="line-height:1.38;margin-top:0pt;margin-bottom:0pt;"><span style="font-size:11pt;font-family:Arial;vertical-align:baseline;white-space:pre-wrap;"> </span>
</p>
<p dir="ltr" style="line-height:1.38;margin-top:0pt;margin-bottom:0pt;"><span style="font-size:11pt;font-family:Arial;vertical-align:baseline;white-space:pre-wrap;">But we know Chris, and you know Chris. This man is a unicorn. His gentle spirit, optimism, and warmth are matched with boundless strength and courage.</span>
</p><br />
<p dir="ltr" style="line-height:1.38;margin-top:0pt;margin-bottom:0pt;"><span style="font-size:11pt;font-family:Arial;vertical-align:baseline;white-space:pre-wrap;">During this time, he will take a medical leave from work and his partner, Amelia, will mostly close her practice. While we can’t make Chris’ cancer go away, we can support them while they center their life around Chris’ health and quality time with (and away from!) their toddler twins Hilary Joy and Lee.</span>
</p><br />
<p dir="ltr" style="line-height:1.38;margin-top:0pt;margin-bottom:0pt;"><span style="font-size:11pt;font-family:Arial;vertical-align:baseline;white-space:pre-wrap;">We are looking to raise $75,000 to pick up the slack and to alleviate the financial commitments they are making to keep Chris as resourced as possible. This will include integrated alternative treatments, major diet/supplement changes, essential retrofits to their place and, as his treatment progresses and energy depletes, professional help with childcare and domestic duties. Chris began treatment in late July, the effects of which compound as he progresses. He is in for a nine month journey that concludes with surgery, then recovery.  </span>
</p><br />
<p dir="ltr" style="line-height:1.38;margin-top:0pt;margin-bottom:0pt;"><span style="font-size:11pt;font-family:Arial;vertical-align:baseline;white-space:pre-wrap;">It's a long road ahead and we all need to do everything we can to support Chris and put his mind at ease, knowing that those dearest to him have his back. He needs to give this everything he’s got. </span>
</p><br />
<p dir="ltr" style="line-height:1.38;margin-top:0pt;margin-bottom:0pt;"><span style="font-size:11pt;font-family:Arial;vertical-align:baseline;white-space:pre-wrap;">Together we can support them through this, so let's all pick up as much weight as we can and protect this beautiful family during this challenging time.</span>

Support For The Wimbles Family

<p>Our young nêhiyaw land defender, Nolan, passed away on July 3rd surrounded by his family, relatives, fellow warriors, loved ones, and ancestors. He spent the last two seasons of life at the Fairy Creek Blockade, standing up for the land and in solidarity with the local peoples (including Bill Jones) wanting to protect the forests, waters, and relatives.
</p>

<p>With the help from people on the ground and supporters, with the direction of Nolan’s family, this GFM is set up to provide financial relief for our young warriors family and relatives. <br /><br />All of the funds will go directly to funeral arrangements, travel, care services, living costs, child care and anything the family deem necessary for caring for Nolan and his loved ones. <br /><br />From Nolan’s family: “Nolan “Wondering Spirit” was passionate about life and sharing his knowledge of his Cree culture to those that crossed his path in life.<br /><br />Nolan’s last journey from his rooted home of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan was on April 5, 2021 to BC. Nolan was a gifted man, his cousin Matthew Morin described him as a Bear who loved and protected people close to him. Let’s honour his Spirit by showing compassion and always remember to have love and respect for Mother Earth.” <br /><br />Nolan (“Papi”) carries his spirit with such vigour, with endless laughter, and with fight against the injustices that plague our peoples as Natives. <br /><br />Nolan was a part of a group of young Native peoples on the frontline, and holding it down at almost every single camp over the course of 3-4 months. He not only brought himself and community with him, but he built it every single day he was present. His warrior spirit came from a place of compassion, understanding, and undeniable determination for a future of love. Nolan was a warrior who showed up when the call went out, and showed by example how to assert himself as a protector. He also showed all of us what it means to be a friend, a relative, and a leader that leaves no one behind. <br /><br />There are hundreds of people that Nolan influenced, and this work at the camps or on the frontlines would not have happened or been as powerful without Nolan. We will be carrying on that legacy Nolan demonstrated, and continue to stand up and speak truth - and act upon it.<br /><br />Remember, this is a time for grief and healing. Please respect the family’s privacy, along with the time needed for relatives, friends, and warriors to process. As Native peoples we have protocols around death, so respect what is being asked for Nolan’s spirit. For questions or messages, please send them here in order to minimize bombardment of family and friends.<br /><br />Kleco/Hychka/Hiy Hiy/Thank you.<br /><br />___________________________________________________________________________________________<br />These words were written by xʷ is xʷ čaa, as well as Nolan's family. I have been asked by xʷ is xʷ čaa upon the direction of Nolan's family to aid in creating this gofundme. All funds will go directly to a member of Nolan's immediate family as the beneficiary, and all funding decisions will be made by Nolan's family. Thank you.

Support Land Defender Nolan Young’s Family

The Little-Frey family's world has suddenly flipped upside down, since they received the news that their 2-year old son Elio has cancer. It is a rare form of cancer that begins in the liver, and Elio has a malignant tumour. After an MRI, it's been revealed that the cancer has spread. Elio's course of care involves at least 3 months of chemotherapy, and surgery. He will be going through an extremely rough process of being weakened and made ill from his treatments. They are hopeful, but the stark reality is that his prognosis is not known at this time. <em>[We will be posting occasional updates on Elio's condition, and posting new photos, so refer back to this page if you would like an update on how Elio is doing, as things unfold over time.]</em><br /><br />Elio's condition requires the family to remain in Vancouver for treatment at Children's Hospital, for an extended period of time, causing the family to relocate to Vancouver from Salt Spring Island. The reason we are raising money is to offset the family's costs of living while supporting Elio in Vancouver.<br /><br />Ben has been forced to leave his two jobs for the next 4 months at the very least: both parents need to be present so that someone is always with Elio, while the other has their hands full caring for 3 month old baby Sascha.<br /><br />They have been provided accommodation at Ronald McDonald House, but will incur costs from living away from home for so long. Ben and Brette are also under the financial pressure of maintaining payments and bills from life back home in Salt Spring.  Plus, they could be facing unknown future costs associated with long term treatment. <br /><br />We want Ben and Brette to be able to focus on keeping Elio as comfortable as possible, and not worry about mounting debt during this period. There are other ways of supporting them, but for those who have the means to contribute a donation, no matter how large or small, it will go towards some relief for them. Please share this link to your social circle!<br /><br />This family is facing unimaginable challenges and pain during this emergency situation. I know that there is a huge community who loves them and will rise to rally around them.<strong> On behalf of the family, your prayers and loving thoughts are so important, and are received with the deepest thanks.</strong>
