<div>I am Dina from Gaza. I graduated from the Faculty of Law just two months before the war broke out. I had a dream of becoming a lawyer and building my future, but the war destroyed everything. I did not get to celebrate my graduation, and my dreams were shattered. The war has destroyed my city and my university, and it has prevented my three sisters from continuing their university education. My younger brothers and sisters have been deprived of attending school and experiencing the simplest rights of childhood. My sister gave birth to her first child amidst the shelling and hunger, struggling to secure milk, diapers, and clothing for her baby.

<div>Today, we are living a true catastrophe. After the occupation forces stormed Rafah City, we were displaced repeatedly, moving from one place to another in search of safety, but the war followed us everywhere. Now, we live in a cloth tent that provides no protection from the heat of summer, the cold of winter, or the heavy rains. We sleep, eat, and cook in the same space. We sleep on the ground, and we eat whatever we can find—often, there is nothing to eat. Prices have skyrocketed, and famine is chasing us. Even basic cleaning supplies have become a dream, and diseases are spreading among us. My little brother is sick, and we can’t afford the necessary treatment.

<div>The war has returned with full force after a brief ceasefire, bringing back bombing, hunger, and death. My father is trapped on the other side of Gaza, unable to return to us, and he has no job. There is no income, no food, and no safety. All we want now is to survive. We are exhausted from the death, fear, and hunger. We have lost everything we own. We have no choice left but to search for a chance to leave Gaza as soon as the crossings reopen, to find a safe place where I can continue my dream, my sisters can return to school, and my father can find a new job to support us.

<div>However, the cost of travel has become astronomical, with the price to leave Gaza for one person exceeding $5,000, not including the cost of living, rent, and food in any country we might escape to. With the worsening situation and the crossings currently closed, we are waiting anxiously for the first opportunity to leave this nightmare. Therefore, we are in desperate need of help now—to secure the funds for travel and for life afterwards. If we cannot leave, we will at least use the donations to rebuild our destroyed home, help my father regain his job, and provide essential treatment for my sick brother.

<div>My name is Vittoria, and I am from the United States. This fundraiser is to help Nour (@nour._.haitham on IG) and her family, who are currently trapped in Gaza and looking to escape Gaza for Egypt. With the help of Nour’s cousin, Khaled Sahar (@save.khaled on IG, was originally @khaled_sahar2 on IG before), we were able to create and set up this fundraiser to raise funds for Nour and her family and save them from what has been going on in Gaza.

<div>“Welcome, my name is Nour from Gaza City. I am 20 years old. I study multimedia and web development in my third year study at university. I have a dream and a goal that I seek to achieve. I have a family consisting of my father, who is 49 years old, unemployed, and my mother, who is 40 years old, a housewife. I have 3 sisters. My older sister, Zekra, is 21 years old. She works in a hairdresser to help my family with household expenses. My sister, Malak, is 17 years old. She studies in school, and my younger sister, Bisan, is 6 years old. I also have one brother named Ahmed, who is 12 years old.

<div>Our quiet life has turned into war and destruction. We live in the unknown. My family and I are one of the survivors of this cruel war. The occupation deliberately bombs, kills, and forces us to leave our home. We live homeless. There is no safe place for us. The brutal occupation destroyed my city in which I live.

<div>My university, where I was studying diligently, was bombed, as there was not much time left until I graduated from university, and I am now without studying. My sisters also had their schools destroyed. Our dreams have turned into destruction. I humbly address you, dear souls, with a request for help. Your generosity can make a huge difference in our lives, which helps me and my family to secure the necessary funds for coordination and travel to a safe place that enables me and my sisters to achieve my dreams and study. Every donation, no matter how small, brings us one step closer to a safe and peaceful future.”

<div>Our fundraising goal for Nour and her family is $50,500 USD, which includes the following:

<div>1) The coordination prices for travel and arrival to Egypt:

<li>The travel coordination price per adult is $5,000 USD. So, Nour, her mother, her father, and her sisters Dhikra and Malak each need $5,000 for travel. (Total of $25,000 here)

<li>The travel coordination price per child is $2,500. So, Nour’s younger siblings, Bisan and Ahmed, each need $2,500. (Total of $5,000 here)

<div>2) Due to the transaction fees used for collecting donations from GoFundMe, the cost of that will be an estimated $10,500 total. GoFundMe transaction fees per donation are 0.29% + $0.30.

<div>3) In case taxes are involved when collecting donations for this fundraiser, the cost of that will be an estimated $10,000. If the money is not collected by GoFundMe for taxes and is included in the donation amount, these proceeds will be included for travel and basic needs for Nour and her family.

<div>Once our fundraising goal is reached, all proceeds needed for Nour and her family will be given to Khaled, who will then help to give Nour and her family their funds. With the help of Khaled and also Nour’s and Khaled’s cousin, Ahmed Younis (who currently lives in the UAE), Nour and her family will work to coordinate the evacuation process for her and her family through the travel company Ya Hala Company to travel outside Gaza into Egypt.
