<div>Juliet Diaz the founder of Spirit Bound Press (learn more from her bio on our website), is known for her works and presence as an empowering voice in the Spiritual and magical community. She left traditional publishing shortly after being asked to be a mentor with the US Diverse Wisdom Initiative at her former publisher, where she saw for herself the lack of experience and understanding in how to support diverse authors. This, along with the reality check from the  #PublishingPaidMe hashtag, showed her the existing inequality and how deeply rooted this was and intentional.

<div>After meeting with her former publisher about it, not only were they dismissive, but they also continued to offer her meager advances for her following books even after having had a bestselling book that stayed in the top five (mostly #1) in many categories and has a significant active following. Staying true to what she stands for as an Indigenous Taino Cubana who is an activist, cares deeply for her community, and believes in equality, she took a risk with her career as a writer and went public about her decision to leave her publisher.

<div>Rebekah Borucki, the founder of Row House, who also left the same publisher, came to Juliet, asking her if she would want to join Row House as their first author and be part of the RH council as a faith investor. Juliet received offers from other traditional publishers after the word of her leaving her former publisher was made public. She, however, decided that what Row House stood for was incredibly important and aligned with her values.

A team that coaches, supports, and helps authors through their writing journey while growing authentic communities aligned with their message, values, and beliefs. Developing and creating their book launch campaign and marketing plan with our in-house PR team. We also give SBP authors a free membership to our educational and social networking platform, Literary Craft Society. LCS houses courses, workshops, and events covering topics like decolonizing your writing, reclaiming your voice, growing your social media, promoting your book, how to write a bestselling novel, and more. LCS will be available to the public in late 2023

Help Amplify Diverse Voices 

<div>Hola! Many of you know that I’m the youngest of 10 kids. I want to introduce you to my brother Luis, aka Memo, aka “mi pequeño Lu Lu” (my little Lu Lu). He is 3 years older than me and one of my best friends.

<div>Lu has been a physical therapist for over 30 years. Whenever anyone in my huge family is in pain, we call for Lu! And over the years I’ve met so many of his patients, who describe how Lu’s healing hands transformed their lives.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Lu’s other passion is futbol (soccer). Like many Colombian kids in the US, we grew up watching soccer together: it connected us to our homeland. Lu has played all his life, and is now a beloved coach for youth teams in the Philly, area including for his own children, the twins Elena and Evan. 
</div>

</div>
<div>Recently, Lu shared a dream: to bring physical therapy care and medical equipment to kids in Colombia who love futbol, but don't have the resources to play competitively. 
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>And then the universe conspired, as it always does when we give voice to our dreams.
</div>

<div>Lu got a call from a former patient asking if he could help with a team of young Colombian players who aspire to compete in the World Amputee Football Club. <em>Claro que si</em>, Lu immediately said. <em>Of course! </em>
</div>

<div>Today I’m asking for you to join me in planting seeds for Lu’s dream of creating a nonprofit. The initial monetary assistance would buy 25 Lofstrand crutches. Other needs include, soccer cleats, uniforms, travel assistance.

<div>Lu is working with this inspiring team meet their immediate needs and help them become role models. And in the long term, he wants to start a nonprofit to bring the same support for many other aspiring young Colombian players in towns with less resources.

Through God's grace, everyone including the dog was able to make it out safely.. Unfortunately, they are only left with the clothes on their back. Como ya saben mi esposo y hijo siguen en el Hospital y es Dia 23 desde que comenzó esta situación. Aun así, estábamos enfermos por dos semanas antes de ir al Hospital y desde ese tiempo mi esposo y hijo dejaron de trabajar. Sin embargo los gastos de la casa siguen y apreciaría toda ayuda posible. Ahora mismo están en el Hospital pero el proceso de recuperación is muy larga (meses) y aun así los lugares de rehabilitación no son cubiertos completo. Con esto dicho, yo se que hay muchos recursos de COVID para estas situaciones, pero mi familia no califican y hemos sidos rechazados varias veces. <div>I have created this account to help cover utility costs and major expenses that are yet to come. As you know, my husband and son are still in the Hospital and it is Day 23 since this situation began. Even so, we were sick for two weeks before going to the Hospital and since that time my husband and son stopped working. However, household expenses continue and I would appreciate all possible help. Right now they are in the Hospital, but the recovery process is very long (months) and even so, the rehabilitation places are not fully covered. With this said, I know that there are many COVID resources for these situations, but my family does not qualify and we have been rejected several times. So, friends and family, all financial help, no matter how small, would be a great help and blessing for my family. Thank you and God Bless you.

Ayuda (Help) The Pliego Family

I have recently accepted a position as a CDC fellow in Washington DC, starting mid-October. I am excited by this wonderful opportunity and its professional potential—it is my dream job! I have always been intrigued and attracted by both public service and public health, which this position ideally combines.<br /><br />However, the cost of moving to DC and of renting a place there is much higher than I anticipated. Please help me achieve this life-changing move by contributing any amount you can to my fundraising campaign and by sharing it widely with your contacts. I am deeply grateful for any amount and promise to send regular updates about my experience at the CDC!

Help kick start a future

On Thursday [27th April 2017], Bongo was badly hit by a truck as he somehow escaped his leash while being walked by us, his pet-sitters. His owners Exa , Jorden and baby Tsethar had only left a day ago to visit family in Mexico when this happened. Bongo’s left hind leg was caught under the wheel which caused a laceration on his leg leaving an open degloving wound. He was rushed to Massachusetts Veterinary Referral Hospital , Woburn where he has been fighting for his precious life.He was let off vacuum today and his surgery has been successful. However, he will still have to be kept at the vet for a few more days and will require physical therapy.<br /><br />Bongo has been a constant companion to his owner for 13 years and has seen Exa through a lot in life. Although Bongo’s owners were willing to pay any amount necessary, the cost (shown below) just in the past 3 days has exceeded their budget.We surely don’t want his owners to even consider putting him down. It is an unfortunate event, but by no means should it dictate whether a dog has reached his time or not. It is painful to think of Baby Tsethar coming back to a home without Bongo, with whom he sometimes falls asleep. It is truly painful when one has to decide the life or death of a loved one due to a financial issue. Any pet owner would know that the loss of unconditional love that our pets give us is painful. Please help us try and avert that.<br /><br />We would like to reach out to our friends, family and supporters to please help us support Bongo’s owners in paying this huge sum.
