<div><strong>You might know Posadas as the vibrant jet-setter, the hostess-with-the-mostest, or the artist-activist with an unshakeable spirit. But today, that vibrant energy is dimmed. Posadas is facing severe health challenges that have drastically impacted her physical, emotional, and financial well-being. Most days, they can barely get out of bed, struggling just to bathe or make a simple meal.</strong>

<div><strong>Since 2023, her health has taken a dramatic turn for the worse. She’s now chronically ill and disabled, with limited mobility, and she requires daily care-giver assistance. The inability to work means she’s about to lose everything she’s fought so hard to build—her job, her health insurance, and even her housing.</strong>

<div>Many of you may recall that in 2018, Posadas came dangerously close to death before being diagnosed with Thrombotic Thrombocytopenic Purpura (TTP). After two and a half weeks in the hospital and months of recovery, they fought their way back. But on March 2, 2024, they found themselves hospitalized once again, this time due to unbearable pain and a loss of mobility. There is a correlation with Posadas getting COVID-19 &amp; Adenovirus the year before and triggering something dormant. The road has been anything but easy since then—countless ER visits, appointments with doctors and specialists, all while trying to navigate a complex maze of potential diagnoses.

<div>There are indications that Posadas may have a connective tissue disease, which, like so many autoimmune conditions, has received little attention in research and treatment, especially for women and BIPOC communities. Tragically, it could take years for her to receive an accurate diagnosis and the treatment she desperately needs. And on top of everything, these new conditions place her at an even higher risk for life-threatening complications related to TTP.

<div>Posadas does not come from wealth or privilege. They were raised by poor &amp; working-class immigrant families, with both sides of her family enduring significant intergenerational trauma—surviving violence from colonization, poverty, abuse, and more. Research shows what Posadas already knows: the transmission of trauma across generations is linked to an increased risk of autoimmune diseases.

<div>But what Posadas <em>does</em> have is us—the people who love her. Her community of friends, family, and colleagues who’ve been blessed by her generosity, her boundless spirit, and her infectious love of life. She needs her community now more than ever. Let’s give Posadas as much love as she has given to us over the years! Her life depends on it.
