<div>When Jesse and I got married eight years ago, I thought we would start having kids immediately. At this point we would have four of them, or at least that was the dream. I didn't think that eight years later we would still be trying to have our first. We've done all the testing and the results were "unexplained infertility". We have done IUI's, put ourselves on the ND adoption list, went to meetings about foster care and even went so far as to have some serious meetings about adopting an 11 year old out of foster care. After our fourth meeting, I decided that it just didn't feel right so we didn't move forward with the adoption process. I knew the reason it didn't feel right was largely due to the fact that I can't give up my dream of having a baby.

<div>After our last IUI failed, my doctor was very blunt in telling me that I needed to stop "messing around" and just go straight to IVF. In October of 2022, we flew to Colorado to try our first IVF retrieval. Unfortunately, it was not successful. At that point, we were faced with two options, keep pouring money into IVF knowing the odds are stacked against us based on the first retrieval and my age OR get home study approved and start the adoption process while also hiring an out of state consulting agency. As I mentioned before, we put our names on the ND adoption list over two years ago now and were recently told we would continue to be on that list for at least three more years before we even have a chance in ND. That's why we hired a consulting agency in Georgia. While we won't know the exact cost of everything until we are placed with an expectant mom, we do know that we are looking at over $40,000 to adopt our first baby.

<div>The Red River Women's Clinic of Fargo, North Dakota, is readying a new location in Moorhead, Minnesota, in preparation for the Dobbs v Jackson decision.

<div>RRWC has served as North Dakota's only abortion clinic for over 20 years. As a state with a trigger-ban in place, North Dakota would ban abortion in 30 days if Roe v Wade is overturned. This clinic-contingency plan a few miles away (and across the Red River) is the best option to ensure care is not interrupted for people seeking abortions in this region.

<div>As an independent provider, they do not have the name and notoriety to fall back on for funding like national organizations would be able to. But as an "indie clinic", they're also able to meet the unique needs of our region with the most tailored, compassionate care.

<div>Space has been purchased in Moorhead, MN but renovations and furnishings are needed while care continues at the Fargo, ND location (as long as it is legally allowed). Operating one clinic while renovating another will be incredibly expensive and capital is needed.

<div>Per a recent article in the <a href="https://www.startribune.com/north-dakotas-only-abortion-clinic-will-move-to-minnesota-if-high-court-overturns-roe-v-wade/600177157/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Minneapolis Star Tribune</a>:

<div>"The clinic has been operating in Fargo for nearly a quarter-century and serves all of North Dakota, part of South Dakota and northwest Minnesota. While the private clinic also provides pregnancy testing, birth control and testing for sexually transmitted infections, it is primarily an abortion provider.

<div>"Some patients drive as long as six hours to get to the clinic in Fargo, Kromenaker said. If no clinics provide abortions in the Fargo-Moorhead area, those patients would have to drive another four hours to a Twin Cities abortion provider, Kromenaker said, putting abortion out of reach for many."*

<div>*At the time of this article, the South Dakota clinic was still seeing abortion patients but these appointments have since been paused. RRWC will 100% be scheduling/seeing the SD patients who can no longer be seen in their home-state.

Red River Women's Clinic- New Location

<div>I started this page to help my beloved sister-in-law, Anastasia Tweten's family escape the war zone surrounding her hometown of Chernihiv, Ukraine. While Anastasia is safe in Minnesota, her family has been periodically sheltering in the basement of their building in Chernihiv. However, Russian forces are now bombing residential neighborhoods in the area, and it is no longer a safe place to stay. 47 people were killed in a residential district on March 3, according to <a href="https://www.reuters.com/world/europe/death-toll-russian-air-strikes-chernihiv-city-rises-47-local-authorities-say-2022-03-04/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Reuters</a>.

<div>Stores are closed, there is an imposed curfew, and it is difficult to acquire necessities. <strong>As I write this, the family's plan is to flee west by car as far as they can to escape the violence. </strong>It will be incredibly dangerous as the roads are unsafe, bridges are being demolished, and provisions are scarce.<br /><br /><strong>All donations received will help Anastasia’s family with financial hardships they will undoubtedly endure on their journey to reach safety. </strong>We will transfer the funds to her mom, Viktoria’s account. Anastasia currently has daily phone contact with her mom, but it is unknown how long that will continue. <div>Mark caught covid in the middle of October. By the 2nd week of having it, it turned into Pneumonia. He was admitted to the hospital. There he was receiving oxygen and medication. Everything progressed within a day and he got transported to Grand Forks. By the next day they put him in a medically induced coma. And now his family is patiently waiting and praying for his recovery. The donations will be used to cover expenses that are incurring.

<p>Lissette was taken from us on July 9, 2021. We not only lost her but her 4 children lost their mother and life will never be the same for any of the family. <p>In February of 2021, Brittany was diagnosed with stage 3 HER2+ breast cancer. She began chemotherapy treatments in March . Her first course of treatment included 12 weeks of Taxol. Once Brittany completed 12 weeks of Taxol, she began her second course of treatment. She is currently undergoing a type of chemotherapy called AC (Adriamycin and Cyclophosphamide).

<p>Brittany is anticipating having a double mastectomy in August, and will complete 6 weeks of radiation following the surgery.

<p>Because of the aggressive nature of the AC chemo she is currently undergoing, Brittany must take time off of work to recover following each treatment. Supporting Brittany's Cancer Journey

<p>Hello, I am fundraising for the local mosque here in my hometown for Moorhead, MN. 
</p>
<p>on 4/24/2021 a horrific incident took place where the mosque was vandalized and horrific things written on the walls and doors. Islam is a religion of love and peace and some people do not realize what it. For this to happen in the holy month of Ramadan, where if you knew the true meaning behind it, where you fast to get the feeing of how the poor and hungry live. All you see in the news is the hate and how some people ruin the name of a wonderful religion. If you and donate in any way possible to help clean and show the people who did this our community sticks together and this is not okay it would be greatly appreciate.

Lily was born on September 11, 2013. She was delivered by c-section @Amplatz Children's Hospital in Minneapolis. Lily was born with Congenital Hydrocephalus which was due to a malformation in her brain. This was found on her 18 week ultrasound . Lily's Mom was told that Lily was missing the bundle of nerve fibers that help the two sides of her brain communicate with other and that Lily would not have the quality of life that other children would and that it would be best to end the pregnancy. Shelby did not give up on her little girl, she knew that she had to continue with her pregnancy.  After Lily was born she had a shunt placed in her brain which allowed her spinal fluid to drain into her abdominal cavity where it would be reabsorbed.    This was a lifesaving measure for Lily and it was working beautifully. Lily came home and was growing and developing normally. It was the  first time since her inutero diagnosis that we knew Lily was going to be fine . We all loved that little girl with all our hearts and she loved us. But on the day of her four month well baby checkup we were given unimaginable news. Lily had Cancer (ALL). Lily had been through so much already and was on the road to healing and now to get this devastating diagnosis. Words cannot explain what we were all going through. Our sweet little Lily had to endure even more hardship. Lily was sent to the Sanford Childrens Hospital in Fargo to determine what could be done. We met with Dr's and again Lily was given no chance of survival. We had to make some decisions. The Dr told us that we could  1. not treat the cancer and take Lily home (hospice)and let her pass away or 2. they could start treatment (high dose chemotherapy) knowing that the chances of her making it through the first couple of weeks of chemo treatment was little to none. They told us that Lily was a difficult case to treat because of her Hydrocephalus and her age at diagnosis. Shelby again made the decision to fight for her little girl. The road has been a tough one but Lily survived and went into Remission. Lily surpassed all odds and fought with everything she had in her. She was doing amazing. She was crawling and talking and playing just like any other little girl. Unfortunately I am writing this today (11/28/2015) because we got news that Lily's cancer is back and that she is very sick. The next part you read is a Facebook post of Shelby's about Lily's prognosis ....................It kills me to write this but I want to inform all my friends & family I haven't had a chance to speak to yet. Lily has relapsed. Her cancer is back & more aggressive. Her organs especially her intestines have been badly damaged from the chemo she's already on & our only chance was a bone marrow transplant..however the doctors have said she will not survive transplant  or any more aggressive chemo & there is no hope of curing Lily's cancer. Our only option at this point is to bring Lily home to spend the last of her time surrounded by everyone who loves her. She needs all the love & prayers she can get right now. & when we come home I wish for everyone to come & spend as much time with lily as possible & make her feel as happy & loved as we possibly can.......<br /><br />Shelby has not been able to work because she has been Lily's main care giver and has not left Lily's side throughout this struggle. Family has covered costs for the last two years and now are short on money as well. We are now turning to and asking for help from our community. There are as you can imagine bills upon bills to pay and now possible funeral costs and other expenses that go along with that. We know that budgets are tight this time of year, but even a small amount will help. We want to make her final time on earth as wonderful as we possibly can. If you cannot donate financially, a prayer is needed and appreciated more than you could ever know.
