After over a year of trying to figure out why his right leg was so weak (including an unnecessary spine surgery), John was diagnosed with ALS in November 2020. 3 weeks after the diagnosis he went into respiratory failure and now relies on a ventilator to breathe. As he transitions back to home life in this new chapter, John and his family have several unanticipated costs for equipment, including a power wheelchair, wheelchair lift, standing lift, and ADA van. Additionally, he will need around-the-clock care from family and part-time hired help. These are immediate costs that no one could have anticipated, and so we are asking for your support. <br /><br />John is the most kind, caring, funny person and has touched so many people's lives throughout the years. Somehow he has kept his smile and light-hearted sense of humor through all of these incredibly hard changes. Please consider contributing any amount to John's unanticipated medical costs as a way to show your support and care.
