<div>Wij, ouders, broer en familie van Kiki, willen graag geld inzamelen om ervoor te zorgen dat Kiki haar leven weer terug kan krijgen.

<div>Kiki is helaas al een paar jaar erg ziek en verzwakt, waardoor ze niet kan functioneren als een 22-jarige. Kiki was een levenslustige actieve jongedame die hield van sporten, uitstapjes met vriendinnen, veel plezier had in haar werk en graag lol maakte. De laatste paar jaar is hier echter weinig van overgebleven. Kiki heeft meerder afknellingen van grote aderen en dat zorgt voor de nodige problemen zoals veel pijn, niet kunnen eten, afhankelijk zijn van sondevoeding, misselijkheid, braken, duizeligheid, weinig energie hebben en ernstig verzwakt waardoor ze ook gebruik moet maken van een rolstoel. Dit maakt ook dat zij afhankelijk is van de hulp van onze gezinsleden i.p.v. dat ze haar vleugels uit kan slaan en een zelfstandig leven kan gaan leiden. Door dit alles kon Kiki ook haar werk dat ze met veel liefde en plezier uitvoerde in de beveiliging niet meer doen en raakte zij haar baan kwijt. Het is moeilijk voor ons gezin om Kiki zo te zien veranderen, van een sprankelende meid naar een afhankelijke jonge vrouw die geen dingen meer kan doen die bij haar leeftijd passen. Dit zou de tijd van haar leven moeten zijn!

<div>Helaas kan Kiki in Nederland niet geholpen worden, waardoor wij genoodzaakt zijn uit te wijken naar het buitenland. In Malaga in Spanje is een specialist met veel kennis en ervaring op het gebied van afknellingen van aderen. Deze arts werkt met een vast team en behandelt mensen uit de hele wereld met deze problematiek. Hij kan Kiki helpen om de afknellingen te verhelpen, waardoor ze weer beter kan functioneren en weer een leven kan krijgen.

<div><strong>De situatie tot nu toe: </strong>
</div>
<div>Kiki heeft haar hele leven al lichte maag-darm klachten gehad, maar er werd nooit een duidelijke oorzaak gevonden. Sinds augustus 2020 werden de klachten langzaamaan steeds erger totdat het in februari 2021 hard achteruitging en Kiki niets meer binnenhield. Ze werd daarom in april 2021 opgenomen in het ziekenhuis vanwege ernstig gewichtsverlies. Kiki kreeg sondevoeding via een neus-maag sonde en er volgden veel onderzoeken, meerdere bezoeken aan de spoedeisende hulp en een nieuwe ziekenhuisopname.

<div>Uit de onderzoeken bleek uiteindelijk dat Kiki haar maagslagader afgekneld werd. Zij werd verwezen naar een ziekenhuis dat hier gespecialiseerd in was. Kiki was inmiddels ernstig verzwakt en moest eerst aansterken met speciale voeding die via de aderen gaat. Kiki was uiteindelijk sterk genoeg voor de operatie. Helaas verliep deze niet volgens planning. Er ontstond een bloeding, waardoor de operatie gestaakt werd en de afknelling niet verholpen werd. Ze is na een aantal weken nog gedotterd om te kijken of het bloedvat van binnenuit opgerekt kon worden, maar helaas ook zonder succes. Omdat Kiki haar organen te lijden hadden onder de voeding via de aderen, is opnieuw overgegaan op sondevoeding. Deze manier van voeding werkte echter nog steeds niet bij Kiki, ze kon het nog steeds niet binnenhouden en het zorgde voor veel pijn. Besloten werd om een sonde via de buikwand direct in haar dunne darm te plaatsen. Na deze operatie mocht Kiki na vierenhalve maand ziekenhuisopname eindelijk naar huis. Helaas werd Kiki hierna aan haar lot overgelaten. Artsen wisten zich er geen raad mee en wij voelden ons niet meer serieus genomen. Omdat in Duitsland een arts is die gespecialiseerd is in diagnostiek van afknellingen van aderen zijn we afgereisd naar Leipzig. Daar werd duidelijk dat Kiki zelfs meerdere afknellingen van haar bloedvaten heeft en dat de oorzaak waarschijnlijk een bindweefselaandoening is.

<div><strong>Hoe nu verder? </strong>
</div>
<div>In Nederland kunnen ze op dit moment niets voor Kiki doen. Er is weinig kennis over deze aandoening in Nederland en de kennis die er is, blijkt versnipperd over meerdere ziekenhuizen. Kiki heeft meerdere malen te horen gekregen dat ze er maar mee moet leren leven. Dat is echter geen optie gezien de pijn en klachten die haar beperken om te kunnen functioneren. Door contact met lotgenootjes is ze terecht gekomen bij een arts in Spanje met veel expertise, kennis en ervaring. Deze specialist zal haar grondig onderzoeken en kijken welke afknellingen verholpen moeten worden. Het verhelpen van de afknellingen door middel van een operatie zal na afronding van de onderzoeken plaatsvinden. Door het verhelpen van de afknellingen, zullen de huidige klachten die Kiki ervan heeft sterk verminderen en/of verdwijnen.

<div><strong>Waarom een crowdfunding? </strong>
</div>
<div>De verzekering in Nederland vergoedt de operatie niet. Deze operatie wordt namelijk (nog) niet in Nederland uitgevoerd en zit dus niet in het basispakket. Daarom is er een flink bedrag nodig om Kiki te kunnen helpen en alle kosten die gemaakt worden te kunnen dekken. Denk hierbij aan de volgende kosten: onderzoeken, operatie, drie weken verblijf in het ziekenhuis, verblijf in Spanje voor herstel en mantelzorgers, medicatie, etc.

<div>We, parents, brother and family of Kiki, would like to raise money to ensure that Kiki can get her life back.

<div>Kiki has unfortunately been very ill and debilitated for several years, unable to function as a 22-year-old. Kiki was a sprightly active young lady who loved sports, outings with friends, enjoyed her work and loved to have fun. Over the past few years, however, little of this has remained. Kiki has multiple constrictions of large veins and this causes her a lot of problems such as pain, not being able to eat, being dependent on tube feeding, nausea, vomiting, dizziness, having little energy and being severely weakened so that she also has to use a wheelchair. This also makes her dependent on the help of our family members instead of being able to spread her wings and live an independent life. Because of all this, Kiki could also no longer do her job that she loved and enjoyed in security and lost her job. It is difficult for our family to see Kiki change so much, from a bubbly girl to a dependent young woman who can no longer do things appropriate to her age. This should be the time of her life!

<div>Unfortunately, Kiki cannot be helped in the Netherlands, so we are forced to go abroad. In Malaga, Spain, there is a specialist with a lot of knowledge and experience in the field of constrictions of veins. This doctor works with a permanent team and treats people from all over the world with this problem. He can help Kiki get rid of the constrictions, allowing her to function better and have a life again.

<div><strong>The situation so far: </strong>
</div>
<div>Kiki has had mild gastrointestinal symptoms all her life, but no clear cause was ever found. Since August 2020, the symptoms gradually got worse and worse until in February 2021 it deteriorated rapidly and Kiki could not keep anything down. She was therefore hospitalized in April 2021 due to severe weight loss. Kiki received tube feeding through a nasogastric tube and many examinations, multiple visits to the emergency room and another hospitalization followed.

<div>The examinations eventually revealed that Kiki's gastric artery was pinched. She was referred to a hospital that specialized in this. By now Kiki was severely weakened and had to first strengthen with special nutrition that goes through the veins. Kiki was eventually strong enough for the operation. Unfortunately, it did not go according to plan. A hemorrhage occurred, causing the surgery to be discontinued and the ligation not resolved. She underwent another catheterization after several weeks to see if the blood vessel could be stretched from the inside, but unfortunately also without success. Because Kiki's organs suffered from feeding through the veins, she was again switched to tube feeding. However, this method of feeding still did not work for Kiki; she still could not keep it down and it caused a lot of pain. It was decided to place a tube through the abdominal wall directly into her small intestine. After this surgery, Kiki was finally allowed to go home after four and a half months of hospitalization. Unfortunately, after this, Kiki was left to her own devices. Doctors did not know what to do and we no longer felt that we were being taken seriously. Because there is a doctor in Germany who specializes in diagnosing pinched veins, we traveled to Leipzig. There it became clear that Kiki had multiple constrictions of her blood vessels and that the cause was probably a connective tissue disorder.

<div><strong>How to proceed now? </strong>
</div>
<div>In the Netherlands, there is nothing they can do for Kiki at this time. There is little knowledge about this condition in the Netherlands and what knowledge there is appears to be fragmented across multiple hospitals. Kiki has been told several times that she has to learn to live with it. However, that is not an option given the pain and symptoms that limit her ability to function. Through contact with fellow sufferers, she ended up with a doctor in Spain with a lot of expertise, knowledge and experience. This specialist will examine her thoroughly and see which pinches need to be fixed. Surgery will be performed after the examinations have been completed. By resolving the constrictions, Kiki's current symptoms will be greatly reduced and/or disappear.

<div><strong>Why a crowdfunding? </strong>
</div>
<div>Insurance in the Netherlands will not cover the surgery. This is because this operation is not (yet) performed in the Netherlands and is therefore not included in the basic package. Therefore, a large amount of money is needed to be able to help Kiki and to cover all costs that will be incurred. Think of the following costs: examinations, surgery, three weeks stay in the hospital, stay in Spain for recovery and caregivers, medication, etc.
