<div>At the beginning of November, my mom and full-time caretaker to her father (my Opa), celebrated her 62nd birthday. On Monday, Nov. 25th, she was diagnosed with <strong>Acute Myelogenous Leukemia (AML)</strong>.

<div>Acute myeloid leukemia (AML) is a type of cancer that starts in the bone marrow, which is the soft inner part of bones where new blood cells are made. In AML, the bone marrow produces a large number of abnormal white blood cells called myeloid blasts. These abnormal cells do not develop properly and crowd out normal, good blood cells, leading to problems like infections, anemia (low red blood cell count), and bleeding issues due to low platelet counts.

<div>AML can develop quickly and is most common in older adults. Symptoms often appear suddenly and can include fatigue, fever, frequent infections, easy bruising or bleeding, and weight loss.

</div>

<div>Treatment typically involves chemotherapy to kill the cancerous cells, and in some cases, a bone marrow transplant may be needed to replace the diseased bone marrow with healthy cells.

</div>

<div>Treatment begins immediately with a 30-day (at minimum) admission to the hospital, with week-long admissions for additional (consolidation) chemotherapy treatments, and possibly a bone marrow transplant at a local cancer center.

<div>Any and every donation is appreciated and will go towards copays, additional expenses for treatment(s), meals for my grandpa and step-dad, who will now take over full time to care for my grandpa, gas for the trek up and down the Cajon Pass to be at my mom’s bedside, and any other expenses that will accrue during this battle.

Help Support Maya’s Fight Against Leukemia

Out of an overwhelming response and request from all of you (friends and family), we have started this fund as a way for you to help the Ib family financially during this time. As most of you know Molly was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer almost four years ago. She has fought the long fight valiantly with dignity, grace and love. And while her spirit will never be gone, her body has grown weary and this battle is coming to an end. As we prepare for the loss of our sister, best friend, biggest supporter, mom and wife, we are trying to look ahead for ways to help the family succeed when she is gone. <br /><br />Molly has been so many things to so many people. She has touched the lives of everyone around her. She has always selflessly given her time to volunteering, love to her family and support to friends. If you feel compelled to donate and support the family in this way it would be much appreciated. These funds will greatly help Luis and the kids with the mounting costs for end-of-life preparations, medical expenses, a memorial fund and loss of work during this time. <br /><br />Thank you so much for looking out for the family!!! <strong>As friends of the Oropeza and Bryant families, we have created this page to help them during this initial crisis.</strong><br /><br /><strong>On Sunday, November 23,  Lundyn was in a serious motorcycle accident. He was airlifted to USC Medical Center where he remains in critical but stable condition with many severe injuries.</strong><br /><br /><strong>We are attempting to take the pressure off of these young newlyweds and their young daughter. Many of you have asked about helping. We have created this site  as a way to come together to encourage and support them through the new year and beyond.</strong><br /><br /><strong>I, Debbie Powell, will be acting as an overseer and contact person for this account.  We will cover the families monthly expenses and any medically related needs. In the midst of this, Jordan's car has a blown head gasket. We are hoping to repair this so that she has affordable transportation.</strong><br /><br /><strong>The  families thank you for your encouragement and prayers.
