Bridget’s Journey to Independence
0% complete- Five years ago, I had an overdose from prescription medication and a stroke that changed my life forever. I was put on life support and fell into a coma. When I finally woke up, I couldn't walk—my legs felt like jello—and the doctors told my family that I would never talk or walk again. I spent the last five years wheelchair-bound, and there were times I truly thought my life was over. The journey since then has been long and difficult. I spent years in a nursing home, working every day to regain my strength and independence. Through determination, therapy, and the support of those around me, I have made incredible progress. Now, I am finally able to walk again, something I was told would never happen. I am ready to leave the nursing home and start living on my own in an apartment. The funds I am raising will help me secure an apartment and buy the furniture I need to make it a home. I have had a long journey these past five years, and I am deeply grateful to everyone who takes the time to read my story and consider supporting me. Your kindness will help me regain my independence and build a brighter future. Thank you, Bridget. Donations can be made to : CASH APP $BIRDY074

0% complete- Help me in supporting Bridget on her journey into her new life. Transitioning from a nursing home into her first apartment is a new adventure for her that she has been looking forward to for a very long time now. For the past 5 years, Bridget has been in a wheelchair and wheelchair-bound with very little hope of living a normal life again. I had gone back to Florida for a few months, and that’s when I made the decision that I was going to teach myself how to walk again. So, with a lot of hard work, many falls, and trips to the hospital, I taught myself how to walk again. Although after 30 days of not being completely stable on my feet, I did it. I was able to walk with a walker. When returning back to Georgia to the nursing home weeks later, I arrived and got out of the van. I said, "Put my wheelchair and walker aside; I am gonna walk this time." With everyone shocked that I was actually walking very slowly, but I was doing it. I am so proud of myself for not giving up. So now marks 5 months that I have been walking. Knowing I missed out on so much life being bound to a wheelchair, I thought my life was over. But today, I have a whole new look at life and a new attitude. Also, I’m so grateful to be able to walk again. You don’t realize how important something is until you lose it. When I was first in the hospital over a prescription drug overdose, also having a small stroke, being on life support for a month, and having traumatic brain damage, when I finally woke up, the doctor had told my family that I wouldn’t talk again or walk again. Well, boy, was that doctor wrong because today I am a living miracle. God and my guardian angels were watching over me and never gave up on me. Thank you to everyone that was by my side showing me love and support through my 5-year journey of my life in the nursing home. Thank you to all the nurses that had taken care of me and the doctors also. That’s one thing I can say: there’s always been love here at the nursing home. I’m just excited and looking forward to my new life and I hope to be getting into my 1st apartment with the support from everyone. I know I will reach my goal. I want to thank everyone for your love and support on my new journey in life! Sincerely, Bridget Cash App $Birdy074
