I have spent nearly a decade developing this show, navigating two cross-country moves and a global pandemic, and I am thrilled to announce that it has been programmed at Riddle’s Court, a gorgeous and intimate venue in the heart of Edinburgh.

<div>Wild Wild Christian is a hilarious, true coming-of-age story about puberty, spiritual awakening, and purity culture, all while living at a Christian summer camp (awkward!).

<div>Based on my original journal entries, the show picks up where the Emmy-winning Netflix documentary Wild Wild Country ends, when a former cult compound in rural Oregon is transformed into a wholesome Christian camp.

<div>Through my own spiritual de-awakening, I begin to trace the surprising connections between American Evangelicalism and the current political climate in the US, all seen through the sharp, funny lens of an unlikely observer: a 12-year-old girl.

<div><strong>About the Production: </strong>
</div>
<div>Wild Wild Christian had its world premiere at Three Clubs in Los Angeles in August of 2018. It began as a one-off staged reading, and I had no intention of doing it more than once. But when I read it, it was a hit. People told me to keep going with it; everyone from my comedy friends to people in my theater company, and even Lynn Shelton, the late, great film director I had worked with on a commercial, who came to the show and emailed me afterward.

<div>This led to a collaboration with theater director Kevin Comartin, who helped me refine and develop the full show.

Help Simone Bring Her Show to Edinburgh Fringe!

<div>Saturday night Anna and Julia were riding with a friend when tragedy struck. Less than a mile from where they left, the car lost control, hit a tree, and rolled. Both girls were rushed to OHSU.

<div>Julia is home with bumps, bruises, and stitches, but thankfully she’s expected to make a full recovery. Anna, however, remains in the ICU. She suffered a fractured neck, broken jaw, a brain bleed, and most devastatingly, the loss of her right arm. Doctors did everything they could to save it, but the damage was too severe.
</div>

<div>Right now, Anna is alert and responsive, but she faces a long and difficult road ahead. She has two more surgeries scheduled this week, with hopes of moving out of ICU in the coming weeks.
</div>

</div>
<div>As you can imagine, the medical bills, rehabilitation, and adjustments to a new way of life will be overwhelming. We are so grateful both girls are alive, but Anna and her family need all the support they can get during this unimaginable time.
</div>

<div>Hi there, thanks for reading our story. Our mom has had MS for 30 years, which has slowly debilitated her memory and mobility, but in the last year, it has completely removed her ability to complete daily functions. She now has Alzheimer’s and requires full-time professional care, which our dad has been doing on his own for years.

<div>On December 15, our dad was admitted to the hospital with a stroke. He’s been discharged and is home now, but he needs time to recover, and his doctor has told him he cannot resume his caretaking duties. We are having difficulty getting our mom into a long-term hospice situation, and they don’t qualify for governmental assistance at this time.
</div>

<div>We have pooled enough money together for her to stay at a local assisted living facility until December 26, but after that, we don’t have the funds for a more long-term solution. <strong>We fear that if she goes home, our dad’s health will decline.</strong>
</div>

<div>Our hope is that with help, we can find a longer-term situation for our mom, where she will get the care she needs, and our dad can have the time to rehabilitate at home.

Ensure Care for Our Mom and Dad's Recovery

<div>Meet Iryna and Ivan (and a sonogram of the baby they are expecting) from Mariupol, Ukraine. They escaped Mariupol March 2nd, 2022 and traveled for over a month to get to safety. They arrived at Ivan's brothers home in Clackamas, Oregon on April 9th. </div><div><br></div><div>Before the Russian invasion Iyrna and Ivan had just purchased their first home in Mariupol and were excited for the birth of their first child who is due in September. They were working and living a normal life. </div><div><br></div><div>Then on February 24th, 2022 Russia invaded Ukraine. On March 2nd Iryna and Ivan fled Mariupol after a rocket  exploded just 20 meters from their apartment. </div><div>They left everything,  just grabbed 2 bags,  documents and started the long way to a new life. </div><div><br></div><div>They stayed in different places in Ukraine for two weeks.  Then on March 16th they fled to Poland.  And on April 6th they flew to Mexico and on April 9th crossed the board to USA. I truly cannot imagine what they have been through. Their whole world being bombed and only having a few possessions they could carry.  </div><div><br></div><div>They are now Ukrainian refugees staying with my friend Viktoriia and her family. Ivan is Viktoriia’s brother in law. She is a wonderful person who helps me so much. It is hard for her to ask for help but now they are in desperate need. They need money for the extra food needed. </div><div><br></div><div>Ivan and Iryna are both trying to get a work visas so they can start building their new life. But the process is slow because the system wasn’t in place for Ukrainian refugees. Ivan is an electrical engineer and Iryna is a school teacher and choir director. </div><div><br></div><div>Until then they need money for food, for rent. Funds to help Ivan and Iryna to set up a new life here - an apartment, furniture and things like kitchen supplies. They also need to pay back the money for the flights required for them to get to safety. </div><div><br></div><div>In addition to Ivan and Iryna, Viktoriia and her husband have another family with children coming soon. She and her husband are looking for a larger home to prepare for their families arrival. </div><div><br></div>

Donate to help Ukrainian Refugees Ivon and Iyrna

The youngest son of Steve and Rachel Ware's 5 children, 9 year old Rowdy, had to be transferred 150 miles away from home to Portland's Doernbecher Children's Hospital last week after becoming acutely ill. It was there that he was diagnosed with Aplastic Anemia. Aplastic Anemia is a rare and life-threatening condition, therefore the course of treatment and length of stay in Portland is indefinite at this time. Currently Rowdy has to have transfusions every three days and be closely monitored while waiting for a bone marrow transplant. Even if a bone marrow donor is found immediately, the Wares are still facing months away from home and in a hospital, not to mention life with this condition. <br />The Wares are the most selfless and giving family we have ever known. They are the first to lend a hand and offer support without expecting anything in return. They are truly wonderful people. We are asking for help to assist in reducing not only their medical and travel expenses, but also to ease their financial burden so that both parents can be more readily available for Rowdy and their other four children during this unimaginably difficult time.<br />Bone marrow testing of Rowdy's siblings is currently being done and a bone marrow registry drive has been set up for Saturday October 27th from 8 AM-3 PM  at the Crook County High School in Prineville Oregon.
