Dear Friend and Family of Elizabeth Rogers, <br /><br />Many of you already know that Lizzie is an Osteosarcoma Cancer survivor, she was diagnosed in her early 20's and life completely came to a stop during her battle with cancer. But in true Lizzie fashion she went through the treatment like a champ and was put into remission. <br /><br />The healing process has been long and strenuous. She has had countless medical issues resulting from the cancer in her lower spine. With years of dealing with all of the residual effects from the radition and chemotherapy taking a toll on her body - nerve damage, kidney removed, splenectomy, an intestinal resectioning, limited mobility of her leg and foot, and many other surgeries along the way. She is finally going back to the wonderful doctors who took care of her through the cancer treatment in Boston at Massachusets General Hospital!! THIS is the place and the staff that she needs to get the surgery done and to just be normal again. <br /><br />The surgery will remove the bone fusion metal cage in her back and vertical rods and pedicle screws. Biopsies will be done on the bones and bone marrow since the doctors here  in PGH were unable to see any clear pictures of her back because of all the metal that was in there to support her spine and pelvis. Physical therapy will have to be done before she's even allowed to leave Boston which means staying in a hotel for the duration of the stay.<br /><br />All the love and support of each and every one of Lizzie's friends and family have meant the world to her. She is trying to stay brave and strong.  Your help in any way with the burden of all the expenses that come along with this surgery and post-op treatment would put her mind a little more at ease.  We are praying hard and staying positive that this will get her back to a happy and healthy state of living so she can truly enjoy the years to come with her beautiful little 3-year old daughter Ruby. <br /><strong><br />Thank you for all the continued love &lt;3</strong>

Lizzie's Post-Cancer Surgery

<div>Hi, it’s Chully’s longtime friend Dina. I’m reaching out to all, to help his family raise medical and travel expenses. As many of you know our Chully had a medical emergency while vacationing in Florida. The Sunshine State actually doesn’t want him to stay any longer!! Hard to believe but it’s time to get him back to Pittsburgh. His health insurance does not cover these expenses. A medical professional will travel to Florida and bring him back to start the rehabilitation part of his recovery.

On May 1st first I'll be running the Pittsburgh marathon in support of my brother Brian and his fight against cancer.<br /><br />In March of this year Brian was diagnosed with stage four cancer. He and his family are fully committed to battling this terrible disease and coming out stronger than ever.  Our goal for this fund is to provide Brian and his family with all the support and prayers we can during this difficult time.<br /><br />All money donated to the fund will go directly to Brian and his family in helping cover the large cost of cancer treatment and care !<br /><br />We are so thankful for your generous support and will continue to keep everyone posted on Brian's progress.

Brian’s Fight

Justin &amp; Betsy were expecting twins this summer.  <br /><br />Due to some unforeseen issues during the pregnancy, they were forced to deliver their babies 17wks early.  <br /><br />They welcomed twin boys Levi John Howard and Liam John David to this world on 5/8/21!!  Unfortunately, Levi was called home to be with the Lord 3 days later.<br />Liam remains in the NICU at Magee hospital fighting for his life.  <br />To my medical friends/colleagues, he has a Grade 4 hemorrhage on the left side of his brain and Grade 2 on the right.  No shunt or tap yet, but he is having regular ultrasounds monitoring the bleed and ventricle swelling.  He is vented on 37% O2 with PEEP of 12 and on an oscillator.  Currently trying to wean him off the oscillator and wean down the PEEP in case he needs tap. He has been stable thus far and we need prayers that he continues to remain stable as they wean his vent and also that swelling in his brain continues to improve.  He has a long way to go, but the power of prayer is remarkable! <br /><br />Please keep Justin and Betsy in your thoughts and prayers as these new, first time parents are having to grieve the unexpected loss of their son Levi, plan a funeral for a newborn, heal from emergent C-section, all while finding the power to remain strong physically, mentally, &amp; emotionally and keeping their faith while Liam continues to fight for his precious little life! <br /><br />Justin and Betsy have been at the hospital every day since April.  Their lives have been turned completely upside down.  They just recently began sharing their story with their friends and loved ones.  They have asked for no hand outs, no financial aid, no help in anyway other than prayer.  <br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />My husband and I have taken it upon ourselves (with the approval from the couple) to start this GoFundMe page for Justin, Betsy, Levi, &amp; Liam.  They have a long road ahead of them, and while life continues to go on for the rest of us, they need to be present for their son Liam and be able to grieve and mourn their son Levi during this time.  Medical expenses, funeral expenses, work life, PTO, insurance, meals are not top priority right now despite the reality that these items will eventually creep up.  If you are able to give any monetary donation to this cause, it would be deeply appreciated.  We understand that with the COVID 19 pandemic, times are hard and people are still recovering and we would not be asking if it were not for such an important cause.  Think of this as a movement, a step in the right direction on bringing more humanity and humility to this world.  We all could use a little extra love in our lives.  And if you find you are unable to donate, any and all extra prayers or spreading the word by sharing this link would be just as appreciated!!!

#NeriahStrong – A 7 year olds fight with Anaplastic Ependymoma Cancer, Grade 3<br /><br />This fight is for our good friends Mike and Ame Asuega and their daughter, Neriah Asuega. In November, after a visit to the doctor for what seemed to be a normal tummy ache and vomiting, 7 year old Neriah was misdiagnosed with Mononucleosis (mono). Mike and Ame knew there was something doctors missed. Unfortunatley, they were right. In March, Neriah was diagonsed with Anaplastic Ependymoma Cancer, Grade 3 which is a rare brain tumor.  A brain tumor that got so big, it wrapped around her spinal cord, looking like 2 plum sized tumors. Neriah did have a successful surgery to remove 98% of the tumor. But her road to recovery is not over.<br /><br />Neriah is a brave and strong little girl who is creative, loves to draw, play basketball, read and do all things little girls love to do. Neriah is the third of six children—a middle child who is the glue holding the Asuega family together and a role model who her younger sisters look up to.<br /><br />True to her biblical name, she is without a doubt ‘the light’. Always letting her warm light glow, her smile hides the pain she is in. This little girl is mature in so many ways. She puts her family first, always making sure mommy, daddy and her sisters and brother are ok.<br /><br />But right now, her life is put on hold to fight this horrible disease. She must stop playing basketball, stop being a care free kid, and stop enjoying summer – to be a fighter.<br /><br />Luckily, Neriah’s faith in God is stronger than cancer. That’s why we know she will win this battle.<br /><br />So, our plea starts here. Along with the heartache of watching their baby girl go through pain and rigorous radiation, Mike and Ame also have to worry about expensive medical cost, taking time off work and care for their other five children. Mike and Ame’s focus should solely be on Neriah’s recovery and providing stability for their 6 children, not finding ways to pay for medical treatment.<br /><br />Neriah and the Asuega family have a long road ahead. Your monetary donation will provide them with a little peace of mind knowing treatment and the medical bills will be one less thing they have to worry about.
