We have been struggling to survive for a year of war and destruction. The place that was once a beautiful home ❤ has now turned into a battlefield ☠, where survival has become a daily struggle. There is no shelter, no food, no clean water, and no healthcare .

<div>There is currently an opportunity for my family and my sick child to leave through Egypt. However, the exorbitant costs of crossing the Rafah border are a significant barrier. The fare to leave Gaza through Egypt is $5,000. We need to raise $35,000 in total for my family of seven to escape Gaza. Additional funds will be used to cover processing fees and purchase necessities such as food, water, clothes, and medicine. Therefore, we need your support and assistance.

<div>Hi, my name is Tania and I’m fundraising for my aunt Angelica whose kidneys are failing. She is a devout Christian, works nearly every day as a server while her babies are in school, and is a phenomenal mother to 3 adorable little kids who need her. She will desperately need this treatment soon. Please give whatever you can. Anything helps! ❤️

</span><br />

<div>As an immigrant family in Tennessee, health insurance is not accessible to us and she will have to pay for dialysis and doctor visits mostly out of pocket. She’s been getting really sick often lately and on a strict diet with no sodium intake (which as you can imagine in very difficult in America as a low income family). Please share if you do not have the means to donate. &lt;3

Tayanna Funeral Expenses

<div>Hi, we are the staff of Acme Carrboro striking against unfair labor practices, including abuse of power by the owner. Our demands include the appointment of an official human resources officer, a concerted effort to hire and retain more BIPOC staff, and an official apology from all of upper management. After numerous attempts by management to suppress our demands and unjustly prolong the strike litigation process, we have decided to ask the community for financial support. Please donate to help our career servers participating in a federally protected strike cover expenses for the holidays! Thank you.<br /><br />UPDATE: Our strike has ended. Thank you so much to everyone for the support. Please check out @acmeonstrike on instagram for the full update.

<div>Hi my name is Nyrobi Manuel, and I am a junior at Duke. In October, I was involved in a car accident on my way to class. A driver, going above the speed limit in a school zone, hit my car, leaving me with limited access to campus and around town. Not only was I dependent on my car for travel to school, work, and around town but I am attending school out of state and drove my vehicle here. In order to get home, I need to drive my car back at the end of the semester. Furthermore, I am studying abroad next semester, so I have to take all of my belongings.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Besides this debilitating accident, this semester has been extremely difficult. I have experienced a number of health issues, I have been supporting my family, and working to pay my own financial obligations all while trying to maintain a high GPA.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>My insurance deductible, car lot fees, and court fees are very hefty, and I c can only afford to pay very little as I am a first-generation low-income student that supports my family. Any support would be much appreciated!

<div>Help us welcome and support our newest Asheville residents!

<div>40+ Afghan refugees are arriving in this area over the coming weeks. Some are already here! The nonprofit Catholic Charities** is contracted with federal refugee services to coordinate their resettlement, and I want to help their efforts with this fundraiser intended specifically for Afghan refugees in Asheville.
</div>

<div>
</div>

<div>Each new arrival is allotted a one-time, minimal resettlement stipend by the US government that won't go far. Many of these folks left Afghanistan under extreme duress, and they have been assigned to WNC without familiarity with the area, existing community ties, knowledge of English, many possessions, or financial resources. They're also all currently in a limbo of red tape. The money raised in our fund would be used in collaboration with Catholic Charities Asheville for costs like rent, transportation, food, clothing and supplies, medical care, English education, and so on before they're able to find work.
</div>

<div>
</div>

<div>I'm starting the fundraising goal at $20,000, but we're optimistic that we can go beyond this! For perspective, $20,000 would allot $500 for each of the 40 refugees. We hope we can raise more to help these folks out, and try to welcome them to Asheville and support them while they settle.

<div> <span>On Wednesday March 3, 2021, my sister Daisha and 1 year-old nephew Legend were carjacked by an armed assailant who was actively being chased by the Houston Police Department (HPD).  After my sister finished pumping gas at a local Houston gas station, the assailant jumped into her car and pointed a gun at my sister’s face. Despite my sister screaming and hollering that her baby, my nephew, was in the car they opened fire anyway hitting the baby in the head. Currently my nephew is in the ICU undergoing medical treatment. My nephew has a long road to recovery, and we are raising funds to support his medical care. A portion of these funds will also go to support my sister who is Legend’s primary caretaker.  100% of the funds raised on this site will go to Ms. Smalls. Help Legend Daishaun Smalls in his recovery!

College never seemed like a possibility until it did.
It more 10x more likely for me to end up in jail,
71% more likely to drop out.
50% more likely to end up pregnant.
And even less likely to end up graduating from high school.
I was never supposed to make it to college.

When looking at these statistics and thinking about how people ask me what I expected when I went to college, what I think is, I was never supposed to be here. I was supposed to be another statistic. A teen mom. A felon, or even worse, dead. No statistic ever showed me that there was a correction between me and higher education. No signs of a future. Especially when you combine this information with that fact that I’m a foster child, who doesn't know her father. The odds were stacked against me. So, when people ask me, “why didn’t you prepare for college? You knew how expensive it was.” But that's not my truth. I didn’t know anything about higher education. What I knew is that it was my ONLY opportunity to do better, to build a better life for myself, my ONLY opportunity to stand in face of those odds and prove to myself that I was better. So, I worked. In high school, I was tired, angry, lonely, empty, but I worked. I participated in everything that I possibly could. I came before and after school to get help with assignments. I started working harder in areas I knew I struggled in, such as math and science. I looked for opportunities outside of school. I volunteered at church, did hope walks, organized food drives. I spent my summers working with After School Matters and One Summer Chicago. I worked at summer camps during the summers and worked elections during the school year. I worked for the money I needed to pay for SAT books, online resources, and tutoring. So, no. I didn't expect to go to college, but I worked desperately and frantically to make sure that I would have the best opportunity possible for getting into a good school. I didn’t know about FAFSA, taxes, or loans. I knew that I was smart, that my education was the only thing that has ever been mine, and that I had to do something. I applied to colleges, wrote essays, and applied for grants and scholarships. It didn't seem real until I was standing over 12+ acceptance letters, including one from my dream school, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. I had done it. Scared, alone, broke and broken...I had done what I was never supposed to. On May 2, national decision day, It became real. My commitment to my school and to myself. It was everything I wanted. As move in day approached, I was still frantic, scared, and alone. I would be coming to college alone. No support system. No savings. No loving mother or father. No love. No direction. I had my dreams and a scholarship. Nothing prepared an African-American, 1sr-generation, low-income, foster child to come to college during a global pandemic and doing it alone. School has not been easy. Life has not been kind. I have barely been living and I am also barely surviving and that is why I’m here because I need the help. I haven’t been doing okay at all. I have been struggling to stay afloat and I don’t know what to do. I struggle with essential things like food and clothes for the upcoming winter, paying for university break housing and books for school. Absolutely anything you can give will help.

Lauren is a paramedic, working on the front lines in one of the hardest hit areas of the country making little money.  In order to support herself during the pandemic as well as her family, Lauren turned to sex work. Recently Lauren was contacted by a national newspaper, Lauren asked to please remain anonymous and not be named. The newspaper and journalist (male) decided against honoring her request instead quoting her and misquoting her making her appear flippant and uncaring. In reality Lauren is now at risk of losing her job, losing her ability to help support her family, her father is extremely ill and Lauren has nowhere to turn. We are asking for donations to help Lauren keep her freedoms of choice and expression to support herself during her legal battles against the newspaper and her fight to keep the job she loves.

<p>June 27th 2020 I came out to those who have been in my life the longest, including my partner of 4 years.
</p>

<p>I expected support considering everyone thought I was bi- up until this point.  I didn’t receiveany support.<br />As you can imagine, figuring out your identity isn’t exactly ideal at 23 years old. I thought I had the last 4 years figured out, I was mistaken.<br />As my relationship began to have its own issues for other reasons, my partner and I became more distant. My mental health is at an all time low and I am saying this- having experienced many traumatic experiences in my life.<br /><br />I am currently in and out of the hospital for myautoimmune diseases and inflammation so I can’t hold down a job for the life of me, and disability barely covers the bills- let alone anything else I actually need.
</p>

<p>My hope is to move closer (out of province) to be near the only remaining support I have which is my Lesbian cousin and her wife.
</p>

<p>the cost of everything including transporting my animals and packing up in the dead of the night will be $4,500 but I can pay the $500 somehow, I will figure it out. I never wanted to reach out to the internet for this kind of thing, and I do fear backlash or judgment.. but I need help. I really need help.
