<div>I’m creating this GoFundMe to support my Aunt Karen Shroyer, as she navigates a recent diagnosis of stage 4 lung cancer. As she begins treatment, there will be significant medical and day-to-day costs that can add up quickly. This is one way we can all surround her with support and help relieve some of the financial stress so she can focus on her health, her comfort, and the people she loves during this time. Any donation, share, or kind thought means so much.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>Below is more information about her diagnosis from Karen herself:

</div>

<div>”I am someone who never shares anything about myself, if you want to talk dogs I will post those all day long. I need to take you back to Aug when I ended up in the hospital with a bleeding ulcer. After this was repaired, the CAT scan they did in Aug. showed some narrowing of my bile ducts, so my GI doctor wanted to run a special MRI. So, I got this MRI done in Nov. The results come back, and it shows many spots on my liver they were not there prior and the word on my results the radiologist wrote “worrisome for metastatic disease” Well great, just what someone wants to read. I got a call from my GI the next day about the results, she ordered a liver biopsy which I must wait until Jan 5th for, and the results are not good.

</div>

<div>I get the results back on Mychart before the doctors and it shows I have extensive small cell lung cancer. The next day I got a call from oncology and my life now begins to change. Before my first appointment with them I am sent for more CAT scans and an MRI of my brain. CAT shows the cancer is in my left lung, many different areas of the lung, adrenal gland, lymph nodes but thankfully not in the brain. We met with the oncologist on the 13th and were told what I already knew. Treatment options are 1: Do nothing 2: Chemo only 3: Chemo and immunotherapy which could make my colitis worse but better odds at shrinking tumors and giving us a little more time. We are going with option 3 to start, if it gets too bad, I can stop the immunotherapy.

</div>

<div>After the appointment, my phone has been ringing off the hook from all the referrals that were set up though oncology or appointments just show up on mychart. I have an education appointment with a nurse about Chemo. I have to get my port put in. I start Chemo on Feb 3rd; I go 3 days in a row every 3 weeks. I have spoken with palliative care (Not hospice) so they can help with symptom control and other support needed. Followed by more CAT scans and MRIs.

</div>

<div>So, one thing to all smokers over 50, I can say this as the cancer I have is a smoker’s cancer. If your doctor, ask you about getting the CAT scan of your lungs every year DO IT. I did not schedule mine this past year, would it of made a difference, no one knows, but please get yours.

</div>

<div>Thanks for listening, now you know why I only want to talk about dogs!“

<div>Late last night, my sister, Olivia Kushuba and John Mooring lost their oldest son Hunter. He would have turned 14 on April 1st. A sudden house fire took him, their animals and all possessions. Her youngest daughter Bonnie and her were able to make it out of the fire, but sadly Hunter was unable to. We are trying to gather any resources to help them navigate this difficult road of loss. Thank you so very much for taking time to help them out.

The Tragic loss of Hunter Mooring

<div>How tall are you?  6’10”
</div>
<div>How old are you? 14
</div>
<div>Basketball? No
</div>
<div>Football? Yes
</div>
<div>What size are your feet!?!?! 23...maybe 24?
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>And therein lies the problem. Although difficult, most major cities can adequately clothe people of above or below average height. Shoes, which to most Americans are a basic necessity, are another matter.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>The struggle with finding shoes started early. In elementary he was at an Arizona flea market with his family and heard an announcement for a pair of Crocs in a size 15. They ran to the booth and snatched them up. He used them until they wore through to the ground. Two years ago, as a 7th grader, Eric was wearing men’s size 17. The current average size shoe in the NBA is 14.8. At this point family and friends knew to be on the lookout everywhere they went for oversized shoes. Waiting between finds was cramped and painful but not hopeless.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Last year was a good shoe year for Eric. His family stumbled upon a stockpile of shoes at the Nike outlet in sizes 21 and 22 and bought all 7 pair. For the first time in a long while he had shoes that fit well and looked cool. Excited that this might be the answer to their shoe search, they kept checking the outlets and online….and the outlets again…watching him quickly outgrow the 21s and move into the 22s.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>And here we are. After some research, it was discovered that the shoes found at the outlet were made for Tacko Fall, the NBA player with some of the biggest feet in the game. Shaquille O’Neal is the same size at a US 22.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Eric needs a US 23 (maybe 24). The largest feet in the world at the moment are a US 26. According to Guinness Book of World Records the largest feet of any teenager was a 16 year old in a size 20.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Don’t worry, his application is already in at Guinness (for hands too but teenage boys need gloves as much as they need a winter coat).
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Current situation:
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>He’s still in Tacko Falls’ 22s.
</div>
<div>They have been professionally stretched.
</div>
<div>He’s got blisters and they hurt.
</div>
<div>He’s been measured by an orthopedic specialist.
</div>
<div>One pair of shoes will cost over $1500 (average US household spends about $400 a year on shoes).
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>This isn’t a problem just for now. This is a problem for the rest of the time Eric has these feet.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>The ultimate goal is to find a company that will help keep him in shoes for the duration. Any leads are appreciated but most companies have likely already been approached. Custom making shoes for an NBA star is one thing, custom making shoes for a growing teenager from small-town USA is another.
</div>
<div><br />

<div><br />
</div>
<div>Consider donating if:
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>You want to be part of the journey of a Guinness World Record hopeful!
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>If you think shoes are something every kid deserves.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>You want to see your name added to the donation list with the hopes of your crush seeing your name on the list and falling in love with your generosity.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>You hope maybe someone buys Eric a white t-shirt so his mom can put your name on it so he can then walk around like a do-gooder billboard for all the world (or at least his neighborhood) to see.
</div>

If the shoe fits!

Last night around 10:30 I was driving west on M59 towards Airport when I saw person on a bicycle riding with the flow of traffic. Now as you all know the roads were horrible yesterday, and there were a ton of accidents. I remember seeing a story about a man who was recently hit and killed riding his bike on Telegraph. So as I pass this man, not only do the current weather conditions come to mind, but also his safety. I quickly turn around. I throw my hazards on and ask the man if he needs a ride. Without hesitation he said "I would love a ride" frozen beard and all. We somehow fit his bike into this Wrangler courtesy of Szott Chrysler Jeep, and he gets in. I ask where he's heading, and he said Meijer in White Lake. Now mind you this is a 7 mile ride. He proceeds to tell<br />me this is his 5th winter riding his bike to work. He does so because he can not afford a car due to the majority of his income going towards his ill wife. This gentlemans name is Tony. He is just a hard working man, trying to make a living to take care of his wife. Upon my Facebook post, a lot of people wanted to create a go fund me page for Tony to get a vehicle to keep safe and warm this winter! So here it is. All proceeds will go to purchasing the vehicle for Tony as well as insurance costs. Thank you! <br /><br />Update:  My name Jason Kapoor.  Tony Berard is the name of the gentleman we are all helping.  I do have his contact information. I am not related to Tony in any way.  He is a friend of mine now though! We have raised the goal<br />considering  the amount Go Fund me will take for their services.  Tony is overwhelmed by the amount of support all of you have given. It's nice to see good in the world still! You all are awesome!  Tony will be in a vehicle soon with enough money to cover insurance, gas, and some extra to help care for his wife! Thanks again everybody! Happy Holidays!

Keep Tony Warm & Safe!

In the summer of 2012, I experienced my first Mission Trip to Reynosa Mexico with The Well Church. Simply said, "It Changed My Life".<br /><br />This summer, I get to experience this with my daughter Piper... and I'm hoping it does the same for her.<br /><br />We leave together July 19th thru July 25th, and we are raising funds for Airfare, lodging, ground transportation, construction materials, and VBS materials.<br /><br />Would you consider helping us? We are looking for both prayers and financial donations. Every bit helps in our goal. There are 30 members going with The Well, and we can't wait!<br /><br />God Bless,<br />Piper &amp; Scott<img class="not-resizable" src="https://2dbdd5116ffa30a49aa8-c03f075f8191fb4e60e74b907071aee8.ssl.cf1.rackcdn.com/4285692_1429706841.2101_funddescription.jpg" alt="" width="100%" /><br /><img class="not-resizable" src="https://2dbdd5116ffa30a49aa8-c03f075f8191fb4e60e74b907071aee8.ssl.cf1.rackcdn.com/4285692_1429706854.3993_funddescription.jpg" alt="" width="100%" /><br /><img class="not-resizable" src="https://2dbdd5116ffa30a49aa8-c03f075f8191fb4e60e74b907071aee8.ssl.cf1.rackcdn.com/4285692_1429706865.7457_funddescription.jpg" alt="" width="100%" /><br /><img class="not-resizable" src="https://2dbdd5116ffa30a49aa8-c03f075f8191fb4e60e74b907071aee8.ssl.cf1.rackcdn.com/4285692_1429706887.3167_funddescription.jpg" alt="" width="100%" />

Piper & Scott's 2015 Mission Trip

<a href="http://www.freep.com/story/news/local/michigan/oakland/2015/01/31/detroit-commuting-troy-rochester-hills-smart-ddot-ubs-banker-woodward-buses-transit/22660785/">FULL STORY HERE!</a><br /><br /> James Robertson doesn't look like an endurance athlete.<br /><br />Pudgy of form, shod in heavy work boots, Robertson trudges almost haltingly as he starts another workday.<br /><br />But as he steps out into the cold, Robertson, 56, is steeled for an Olympic-sized commute. Getting to and from his factory job 23 miles away in Rochester Hills, he'll take a bus partway there and partway home. And he'll also walk an astounding 21 miles.<br /><br />Five days a week. Monday through Friday.<br /><br />It's the life Robertson has led for the last decade, ever since his 1988 Honda Accord quit on him.<br /><br />Every trip is an ordeal of mental and physical toughness for this soft-spoken man with a perfect attendance record at work. And every day is a tribute to how much he cares about his job, his boss and his coworkers. Robertson's daunting walks and bus rides, in all kinds of weather, also reflect the challenges some metro Detroiters face in getting to work in a region of limited bus service, and where car ownership is priced beyond the reach of many.<br /><br />But you won't hear Robertson complain — nor his boss.<br /><br />James Robertson, 56, of Detroit, walks toward Woodward Ave. in Detroit to catch his morning bus to Somerset Collection in Troy before walking to his job at Schain Mold &amp; Engineering in Rochester Hills on Thursday January 29, 2015. James walks 21 miles daily round trip to his job.Robertson's roundtrip commute requires a bus ride each direction as well as nearly 21-miles of walking consuming 22 hours of his day before beginning again throughout the work week.<br /><br />The sheer time and effort of getting to work has ruled Robertson's life for more than a decade, ever since his car broke down. He didn't replace it because, he says, "I haven't had a chance to save for it." His job pays $10.55 an hour, well above Michigan's minimum wage of $8.15 an hour but not enough for him to buy, maintain and insure a car in Detroit.<br /><br />As hard as Robertson's morning commute is, the trip home is even harder.<br /><br />At the end of his 2-10 p.m. shift as an injection molder at Schain Mold's squeaky-clean factory just south of M-59, and when his coworkers are climbing into their cars, Robertson sets off, on foot — in the dark — for the 23-mile trip to his home off Woodward near Holbrook. None of his coworkers lives anywhere near him, so catching a ride almost never happens.<br /><br />Instead, he reverses the 7-mile walk he took earlier that day, a stretch between the factory and a bus stop behind Troy's Somerset Collection shopping mall.<br /><br />"I keep a rhythm in my head," he says of his seemingly mechanical-like pace to the mall.<br /><br />At Somerset, he catches the last SMART bus of the day, just before 1 a.m. He rides it into Detroit as far it goes, getting off at the State Fairgrounds on Woodward, just south of 8 Mile. By that time, the last inbound Woodward bus has left. So Robertson foots it the rest of the way — about 5 miles — in the cold or rain or the mild summer nights, to the home he shares with his girlfriend.<br /><br />At the plant, coworkers feel odd seeing one of their team numbers always walking, says Charlie Hollis, 63, of Pontiac. "I keep telling him to get him a nice little car," says Hollis, also a machine operator.<br /><br />Echoes the plant manager Wilson, "We are very much trying to get James a vehicle." But Robertson has a routine now, and he seems to like it, his coworkers say.<br /><br />"If I can get away, I'll pick him up. But James won't get in just anybody's car. He likes his independence," Wilson says.<br /><br />Robertson has simple words for why he is what he is, and does what he does. He speaks with pride of his parents, including his father's military service.<br /><br />"I just get it from my family. It's a lot of walking, I know."<br /><br />This goal would help James get a nice vehicle along with a few months of insurance payments. Thank you everyone for helping James get back into a car!

Help James Robertson Get a Car

For the fourth time cancer has decided to try and take me on. The metastisis has gone to my brain and it is on many different levels, over 20 tumors in all. But I have faith that with continued dilegence I can again beat this monster and find alternatives for everyone else to avoid thier own battles.<br />The problem is, I cant seem to recover financially fast enough to proceed with the business of life and paying for all of these medical procedures as well as rent and feeding Madie. I want to work and pay my own way but after (2) breast cancer battles (1) Lymphonode cancer (1 continuing battle) innummerable bone tumors (1 continuing battle) innummerable liver tumors and now 20+ brain tumors, i'm tired and need to rest, I cant work through it anymore. But I am pleading with you for just a little help until I can get back to work again in a few months when I am happy and healthy again. Please we need some help...
