<div>On Thursday, December 1, 2022, at 8:30 am, tragedy struck the Palm Villas Community and forever changed the lives of Phil Huth’s surviving wife, children, extended family, friends and residents!

<div>While performing his duties as Resident Manager that morning and working to keep the neighborhood safe, Phil was tragically and needlessly gunned down in broad daylight by an unwanted visitor to the complex.
</div>

<div>After hearing several gunshots, residents looked on in disbelief and horror upon realizing the victim of the shooting was our beloved Phil.  Law enforcement and EMS failed to save him, and he was transported to Queens West, where he was pronounced dead due to his wounds. 
</div>

<div>Phil has been known and well-liked by many around the complex for the last 15 years.  Known for his positive attitude, warm smile and friendly demeanor, Phil significantly impacted the living experience for all the neighborhood residents. 
</div>

<div>This fundraiser is to help his wife Vanessa and son Haven, now in his senior year of high school, with the expenses related to Phil’s death and immediate financial needs.

TRAGEDY IN EWA - PLEASE HELP THE HUTH FAMILY!

<div>In early February of 2022, Jreyden Saribay Gamiao was diagnosed with Metopic Craniosynostosis — A deformity that occurs in 1-in-10,000 children. This diagnosis indicates that one or more of the fibrous joints between the bones of your baby's skull (cranial sutures) close prematurely (fuse), before your baby's brain is fully formed.

<div>When Jreyden was 3 months old, our family noticed he had formed a ridge. At first we just brushed it off and assumed that he would grow out of it; and at his monthly check-ups it was never pointed out by his doctor, so we did not think anything of it. As time passed, we noticed that this ridge had not gone away, but in fact became more prominent. On February 4th, 2022, at Jreyden’s 6 month check up, Jessica, (his mother) decided to bring it up as a concern as it was not reducing in size. When the pediatrician did take notice, she decided to refer us to another doctor who is a surgeon in plastic surgery. On this same day, an X-ray was taken to be used for consultation. The surgeon explained that by the looks of his x-ray, it was certain that Jreyden’s cranial sutures had fused at an early age. However, they were unable to dictate just by the x-ray if Jreyden’s brain would be affected in the future.

<div>On March 24, 2022 Jreyden went in for a sedated CT scan of his head. The next day, Jreyden and his parents met with the Multidisciplinary clinic which included meeting with a Neurosurgeon, Plastic Surgeon, Audiologist, as well as a Developmental-Behavioral Specialist. After meeting with the clinic, we were told that there is no certain way to determine if this condition would affect his brain. The only way we would be able to tell if it was affecting his brain was over time. The panel has recommended that surgery should be done before Jreyden turns 1 years old in July of 2022. The parents of Jreyden have decided that it was in his best interest that they should do the surgery as soon as possible. In addition to surgery, Jreyden has qualified for early intervention for his development, but may also need to partake in occupational therapy and physical therapy post-surgery.

Surgery of Jreyden

<div>Janessa is a 34-year-old wife and mother to a 2-month-old son who needs our support! She’s currently battling the biggest fight of her life against advanced-stage ovarian cancer, in which symptoms developed rapidly during her pregnancy. She’s bedridden at the moment due to the severity of her condition. She starts six rounds of aggressive chemotherapy tomorrow, as well as 10 rounds of radiation on the top of her legs.

<div>Here’s her story: “Some of you know me and some of you probably have no idea who I am (hello!), but thank you for reading my story! In October 2012, I had a 9-pound borderline-malignant tumor removed from my right ovary (along with my fallopian tube and appendix). Surgery was able to successfully remove the tumor with no need for treatment (chemotherapy, etc.) I underwent extensive testing biannually for five years - and there was no sign of a recurrence. Fast forward to the end of my 2nd trimester of pregnancy in June 2021, I started experiencing sciatica in both my legs that got worse AND WORSE as time progressed. I told my OB at each appointment about my pain, but I was told the standard line of “that’s pregnancy for you!” I saw a chiropractor on a weekly basis; tried using a weighted blanket, bounced on a yoga ball, lathered my legs in magnesium lotion, made my husband give me massages on a nightly basis - you name it, but nothing helped me. Through my research I learned sciatica disappeared after birth. It was my only saving grace at the time: “The storm will pass!”

<div>Shortly after my baby shower, the pain got so much worse that I could barely walk, stand or sit longer than a few minutes. It felt like my legs were being stabbed in the nerves over and over. I clung to over-the-counter anti-inflammatory drugs for a slight refuge from the pain. I cried EVERY SINGLE day. My primary doctor couldn’t see me for a few weeks (recommended by my OB) so I took matters into my own hands and booked an appointment with an orthopedic surgeon who ordered a MRI. A herniated disc made sense, but the results were beyond what we imagined. Numerous lesions along my spine - top to bottom - as well as two tumors on my pelvic muscles. After several weeks of tests (PET scan, MRI x2, CT scan, ultrasound, bloodwork, three biopsies, etc.), I was referred to an oncologist who gave us the news: You have ovarian cancer. It spread to the bones and muscles in my spine, pelvis and top legs. “It has been growing inside you for years without knowing it,” said my oncologist. There’s no way to be certain, but looks like the tumor from 9 years ago left behind precancerous cells.

Help Janessa fight ovarian cancer

<p>Hi, my name is Seroza and I am writing in behalf of Kelson Silvas loved ones. The last 2 months have been a roller coaster of emotions. My father inlaw has been fighting cancer (leukemia) for 11 years. When he was diagnosed he was given 5 years to live. He surpassed it by far and we all believed it was because he wanted to spend as much time with his family and grand kids. He lived for his family. No matter what condition he was in, he made sure he spent that time with his family, especially the grand kids. He was so selfless and giving, always giving everything he had whether it was material, emotional or spiritual. He was not perfect as none of us are but he sure did spend his last years making up for it and being pretty damn close to perfect in our eyes. He made our house a home and our family whole. He has truly shown us the true meaning of forgiveness and love. He was superman to us and cancer unfortunately was his cryptonite. The sweetest but sad thing is in his last days, although we knew he was in pain, he insisted he was not. You see my father inlaw was a stubborn man. He knew he was dying and he wanted to spend his last days with his family without us suffering knowing that he was in pain. So stubborn up to the point where he waited days later after he was taken falling into a coma for his family to say goodbye. Although unconscious we know he heard every word, because tears fell from his eyes once his son told him "enough dad, rest now" and shortly after leaving his room just making it to the parking lot, he left us.  He once again put us first knowing we needed closure. Our aunty Kori has helped us dearly in everything and made it possible for us to say our last good byes despite everything going on around us. Please help us lessen this burden on her, his kids and wife, family and help us put dad (Kelson Silva) to rest and give him the cremation he wanted being scattered with his mom. Please help us honor his words that he has always told us in a hard situation and not worry because "everything is gonna be alright, have faith in him☝".

Please help put dad to rest

<p class="p1" style="line-height:normal;"><span class="s1">My two beautiful friends lost their precious 5 month old child unexpectedly yesterday to SIDS.  As you can imagine this is any parents worst nightmare. Liz and Steven brought their beautiful baby boy Kash into the world on March 11, 2021. He has two sisters Mila 6 years old and Scarlett 20 months old, their lives too are forever impacted. Tragically Kash was found unresponsive after a short nap. A parent can never plan for the loss of a child, and I can’t even imagine the pain they are in. I am asking for donations to help this young loving family with funeral expenses and to help them manage their expenses over the next few months so they can stay home as they grieve the loss of their son and continue to provide for and support his sisters Mila and Scarlett. I do not want them to have to worry about anything other than their 2 beautiful daughters and healing their hearts. Liz and Steven are amazing loving parents who work really hard so that their children can thrive. Please donate to help this young family have the time they need to heal. <p>Sabre Salon desperately needs your help to keep Sabre Salon open.<br /><br />Due to the lockdown in Hawaii to help stop the spread of COVID-19, we had to close our doors to help keep our clients, stylists, and families safe. This has hit the Sabre Salon family hard, as we are a small business who relies on the income of the services we provide to pay our bills. <br /><br />Even though we had to close the salon due to COVID-19, we were still being charged rent.  When we finally get to open our doors again to our clients, the back rent for the salon will need to be paid so that we can continue to provide beauty services as a salon. We need your help to raise $6400.<br /><br />We understand that this is a hard time for everyone, but we can only keep our salon doors open with your help, so any amount, large or small will help.  It is also important to please share our need with your friends to help us meet our goal. Sabre Salon Covid-19 Emergency

I am a young woman who randomly got attacked by Guillian-Barre Syndrome(GBS). I thought I had the flu and then suddenly couldn't walk. I learned that GBS attacks the nervous system causing paralysis and sometimes death.  I am lucky that I was very proactive about my health and got treatment early. I went from walking miles daily with my dog and hiking to not being able to walk, talk well, facial paralysis, and loss of use of my hands and more.  <br /><br />I have been in the hospital since August 10, had to do hemoglobulin IV therapy and wait for GBS to run its course. I was a fairly healthy person before, no drug use, non-smoker, active, self-employed stylist, responsible and charitable towards many causes. Now, I find myself the one in need of help, laying and waiting unable to move, work, or be with my dog. <br /><br />The fortunate thing about GBS is that although it caused me to be temporarily paralized due to nerve damage, the nerves do repair themselves and I am getting stronger every day, now doing physical rehab and learning to walk again and use my hands. I can smile again and talk without slurring my words. I never knew how hard it was to just simply stand up and sit up when your body won't cooperate.  I am hoping that I can leave the hospital soon.<br /><br />My biggest fear right now is that because I am a self employed stylist, GBS could take a while to fully recover from and although I am a responsible person having both business and health insurance, I never thought I'd need insurance due to not being able to work because I am in my 20s and I've always worked hard and only ocassionally gotten a cold. <br /><br />I have run through my small savings and I find myself needing help now to pay my hospital and personal bills or I will lose my home, my car,  and quite possibly my business.  GBS attacks people of all ages randomly, so I didn't catch it doing something I shouldn't. I have always given generously, when I was healthy, to many charities revolving around animals and children, like St. Jude. Right now I find I am the charity most in need and I hope you will help me get through this time to fully recover and get back my life. Thank you so much.
