<div>Jeff was diagnosed with Friedreich’s Ataxia as a young man and has outlived his original prognosis. 
</div>
<div><strong>He NOW REQUIRES 24 HOUR CARE.</strong>
</div>
<div>He is has no strength and minimal control of his arms and legs. He can no longer feed himself or take care of his daily living activities. 
</div>
<div>Jeff continues to work daily on his strength, his mind, his faith, and his attitude of gratitude.

<div>His previous GoFundMe in 2022 was for equipment like a bed, lift, etc to help him stay independent.<strong> He know requires 24 Hour Help with his ADL's and lives in a long term care nursing home. </strong>

<div><strong>Jeff is a very humble person and would never ask for help, that is why we decided to start this Go Fund Me campaign for him.</strong>

<div><strong>Financially supporting 1:1 care that he currently requires beyond what the nursing home can offer. </strong>

<div><strong>His senior parents currently share the care with hired caregivers- 3 hours in the am and 2 hours in the pm to get him up and to PT, Gym, and Church on Sundays and fresh air outings. </strong>
</div>
<div><strong>This is getting both physically and financially challenging for his parents. Jeff has a sister with the same diagnosis that also requires support from her family. </strong>

<div>Jeff previously was an advocate for others with disabilities. He was active in his community and had a dream of establishing a community for people with disabilities and special needs near the beach that has all the amenities. He attended city councel meetings and has been soley responsible for getting a wheelchair accessible ramp over the train tracks in Cardiff. He lived for 1 year in a local extended stay hotel and was active in trying to get them to have an automatic door for people with disabilities. He has written a book called "The Ability to Respond" about his early journey "You are more than your circumstances"- how your mindset and faith impact your ability to cope with difficult circumstances and life changing events.

<div>My name is Johanna, and I never imagined I would be in a position where I would need to create a GoFundMe — but my family and I are in a situation where we truly have nowhere else to turn.

<div>Over the past three years, our lives were completely uprooted by a combination of severe financial abuse and manipulation from someone who took advantage of us during our most vulnerable time. Because of this person’s actions, we lost everything — including my home in the United States and the financial security my mother and I had built over a lifetime. I lost not only my savings, but even my heritage property. I am now in Greece only because I was fortunate enough to have family here — otherwise I would have been homeless.

<div>During this financial destruction, my mother became very sick. With the I  money I had left, I physically took care of her, and paid for her medical care on my own until she passed away. After losing her, we struggled even to cover the funeral costs. I was grieving and also trying to keep us afloat, all while this individual walked away without any consequences, leaving me with the debt, the loss, and the responsibility.

<div>Today I am trying to start over from nothing. I am doing everything I can to rebuild, but the truth is: I am in a very difficult financial situation. I am asking for help — not for luxury, not for comfort — but simply to stabilize my life so I can stand on my feet again after losing my home, my mother, and everything I worked for.

Help Johanna Rebuild After Devastating Loss

<div>If you know Lear…you absolutely love Lear. The kindest, most caring warrior I have ever met. This is the type of man who will stop whatever he is doing to help others. Everywhere he goes he knows someone…and they always love him. This is not coincidence. This man pours his love into everyone he meets and genuinely cares for the people that surround him. Lear has fought more battles than anyone I know and he has always been victorious. As a man of God he is everything I aspire to be.

<div>Last year he was diagnosed with squamous cell cancer which started in the tongue and tonsil and spread to the lymph nodes of the left neck. He has battled through three surgeries and took it like a beast. Now he faces the bigger challenge of chemo and radiation. This is a 6 week process followed by a 3 month recovery. Lear works as a handy man and can do anything that is needed, but will be unable to work during this stint of time.

<div>If you know Lear you know EXACTLY what he would do for you…if you don’t know him please help this man continue his journey. Lear has been the best friend to so many of us and he needs all of our help now. Don’t turn your back on the man that would never turn his back on you.

Helping Lear FIGHT

The Garcia family would like to send a big Mahalo to everyone who has been praying for Sunny. Your prayers are reaching him, and there are no words to express how thankful the family is for all of your kind messages and support during this difficult time. They would like to ask everyone to keep praying for Sunny as he fights to recover.<br /><br />On behalf of the family we have started a Gofundme to help support them with mounting bills and expenses while our beloved friend Sunny recovers in an ICU in Oregon.<br /><br />As most of you know, he has been in critical condition since Monday the 29th. True to Sunny, he is strong and he is fighting . . .  each day brings a glimmer of hope but it will be a very long road ahead. His amazing family have been there night and day to support him and each other, but being away from Hawaii is incredibly costly and with each day the expenses grow. His children Kaila, Logan, and Stone bear an incredible financial burden - which should be the last of their worries at this time.
