Patty Angle is a loving and caring Mother and Wife who has worked with and in the commuinty for the past 40 years. On september 28th of 2017 she was in terrible car accident Just north of Enderby B.C

Patty is now stable in kamloops hospital. She broke a number of bones, two being her Right hip and femur, among other injuries. All expenses are currently being negotiated through ICBC, and will not be settled until much later. 


This fund will be used for legal fees and travel expenses for immediate family members from across and out of province and any extra funds will go towards physio therapy and in house care.

Help Patty Angle's Road To Recovery

"Where there is love, there is life." These words apply to my whole world. It is the love that we share that keeps my brother and  sister alive in our hearts. The love that I feel from my family and friends that pushes me to stay well and to keep me living beyond my mental illness. The love that lived in our home, growing up, is what made our life a good one – no matter the struggles we faced. I love love. It's the best. My capacity to love is Brobdingnagian. (I found that in the thesaurus...it means really huge) It is one of my most favourite traits; a trait which I knew would make me a great mom one day. To those of you just joining in, my name is Stefanie Colliar. I am 30 years old and recently married to the most amazing and handsome man, Heath Colliar. I am an outspoken advocate for mental health awareness (you may have seen me jumping naked off a bridge for the cause), a patron of the arts, and an all around good person (so my mom says). Before we were even married, Heath and I decided that we were going to start trying to start our family very shortly after the wedding. We knew that my Bipolar disorder and it's subsequent medications posed a few risks, so we planned ahead and consulted everyone we needed to regarding the matter. After a failed attempt to come off my medication, our reproductive mental health specialist agreed with my doctor to stay on all of the medications that I was on. The potential risks to the baby from the medications were outweighed by the definite risks to both of us should I fall into a mixed mania during pregnancy. I was told that the baby's development would need to be monitored extra closely and that I would not be able to breast feed. I cried and cried about being a bad mom before I even got the chance to be. Then, Health held my hand and I stuck out my chin and we carried forward. This baby was going to be loved to shit, and that's certainly worth something. After we got the green light from our specialist, we went to our family doctor armed with a list of our families histories and got the OK to get busy. He ran a few routine tests as a formality, mostly, and sent us on our merry way. The next day Heath took me out for all my favourite sushi, I had a strong cup of coffee and ate a pile of salami and blue cheese. After that I started my pregnancy diet just so that I would already be on track when we found out. We were one step ahead of the game. After depriving myself of caffeine and deli sandwiches for a short while, we got a call from the doctors office. Some of the tests came back with bad results. Really bad. We were immediately referred to a fertility specialist and tested for everything under the sun. After many tears and nail biting, the doctor sat us down and told us that it appeared  our only chance of conceiving a child between us would be through invitro fertilization, but we had to wait on a series of test to get the full picture. There it was; we can't make a baby the old fashioned way. I won't get to pee on a stick. This past year has been a series of appointments and specialists and procedures and tears. We finally just met with our new fertility specialist and looked over all of the results of being poked and prodded. The answer is the same, but now it is all confirmed and we have a plan of attack. IVF is what we are going to do. It's not going to be easy or pain-free, but what pregnancy is, right? For those of you who aren't familiar with the procedure, the end goal is to take Heath's sperm and my eggs and stick them right together. Then in a few days, we will hopefully have a few embryos to potentially become our family (we'll just start with one). Unfortunately, IVF is not covered by medical, and it is up to us to foot the bill. The intial procedure to create the embryos is about $15,000. On a good day, we have about a 40% chance each time we try. It's close to $2000 each time after that, should we have to try again. While I shoot myself up with hormones to make my eggs plump, we have no idea what that may do to my head. What happens when you put together chemically induced mood swings and chemically surpressed mood swings? Who knows, maybe it will even me out....or maybe customer service will not be a good place for me to work for a while. With the price of the procedure, the medication and possible repeats, combined with loss of wages, transportation, and hopefully lots of icecream and pickles, the potential cost of it all could be around $20,000. We plan on starting this April 2017 (when we will need the initial $15,000 by) It takes a village to raise a child...well, in this case, it may take a village to make a child. Our little family is ready to be three. We know we won't be perfect parents; we definately will not be cool parents, but we will be great parents; good and kind and loving. Our marriage is filled with love and friendship; this year has certainly put a test to that. We can guarantee that any little person would be safe and loved here. Just imagine our little one with Heath's red hair and my tan and just a spattering of fine freckles. We love this baby already; we are just waiting to bring them home. Where there is love there is life. Well, this home is so filled with love and for a new life to join us. Infertility is an issue that is not frequently talked about still. Anyone who knows me knows I'm all about speaking up about the uncomfortable stuff...so here I am, sharing our story.
