<div><strong>Medical Emergency – My Friend and Brother Jörg Is Fighting for His Life After a Severe Traffic Accident in Costa Rica</strong>

<div>My friend and brother Jörg was involved in a serious motorcycle accident while traveling through Costa Rica.

<div>He’s now facing the consequences of a complicated leg fracture and a potentially life-threatening infection.

<div>The situation is serious – and without proper medical care and financial support, things could take a dangerous turn.

<div><strong>What happened?</strong>
</div>
<div>Jörg suffered a complex fracture of his lower right leg (tibia and fibula).
</div>
<div>The initial emergency surgery unfortunately wasn’t done properly. The fracture wasn’t stabilized correctly, and as a result, a serious internal infection has developed – one that could spread and turn into sepsis.

<div>His leg is severely swollen, the pain is intense, and the medication isn’t having much effect.
</div>
<div>There is a very real risk that he could lose his leg – or in the worst case, even his life.
</div>

<div><strong>Why is the situation so critical?</strong>
</div>
<div>The overall quality of medical care, nutrition, and basic hospital conditions is very limited.
</div>
<div>His immune system is weakened, and the healing process is painfully slow.
</div>
<div>The infection hasn’t been fully brought under control – and every delay carries risks.
</div>

<div>To their credit, the doctors and nurses on site are doing everything they can within their means to help stabilize Jörg and support his recovery.

<div>Thankfully, for now, he’s being treated regardless of his financial situation.
</div>
<div>But no one knows how long that can be sustained without support.

<div>His travel insurance only covers part of the total medical costs.
</div>
<div>The actual expenses for further treatment, intensive care, and a possible medical evacuation back to Germany go far beyond what’s covered.

<div>Die erste Notoperation wurde leider nicht fachgerecht durchgeführt. Der Bruch wurde nicht richtig stabilisiert – und infolgedessen hat sich eine ernstzunehmende innere Infektion gebildet, die sich weiter ausbreiten und zu einer Sepsis führen könnte.
