The War in Sudan has created the World’s largest Humanitarian crisis. According to the World Food Programme 19 million people are facing extreme levels of hunger and very little international humanitarian aid is reaching the country.<br /><br />In Response to this tragic situation in our native country, we have setup the Khartoum Aid Kitchen initiative to feed the hungry in the greater Khartoum area. <br /><br />Our first Kitchen in Al Hitana Omdurman has been a success. Alleviating hunger in the area by feeding 1,250 of the most needy people daily. The fortified stew we provide with bread is not only intended to provide sustenance but to also be nutritionally balanced. <br /><br />Since our kitchen in Al Hitana opened we have proceeded to rapidly setup new kitchens across the Khartoum State area. With the hope of being able to feed as many hungry people as possible. <br /><br />We currently directly run 12 fully fledged Kitchens as well as 5 partner kitchens which we support by covering their rice needs.<br /><br /><b><i>Directly run kitchens:</i></b><br />

<div>This is sadly complicated by the long-term effects of injuries Fared suffered when his house was bombed, causing loss of vision in one eye and severe headaches, but he has been able to keep working with medications and eye drops. It is imperative that he maintain lifelong treatment on a consistent basis and avoid putting too much strain on his good eye or he risks going completely blind.

I’ve been harassed multiple times, and recently, I was followed and harassed by four men near the shelter who threatened to kill me and split my head open. The homes of many of their families...Nour says that Gaza was the most beautiful place in the world for her...but the occupation destroyed the features of that beautiful Gaza...she wants to be safe with her sister and their children...at times they do not find anything to eat Everything has become expensive... They want to help you get out of Gaza, but that costs a lot... as the price of making a passport per person is 100 dollars, and the price of coordinating the exit from the crossing per person is 3,000 dollars. ...And all of this because of the war, travel has become expensive... Nasra is studying in the field of journalism. She wished to finish her university studies to convey to the world how her people suffer from the occupation... Likewise, Nour’s son was unable to study at the university because of the bad conditions they are suffering from. Nour is a housewife who aspires for her children and her sister’s children to live in good conditions away from wars.

<div>The innocent playing and laughing of children in Gaza has become persistent terror and suffering. Noor and her sister, Nasra, are young mothers with five of these children that are desperately struggling to survive.

<div>Feeling of hopelessness surrounds all of them. But we are not hopeless, if we all take small selfless steps. Together, we can move these families to a secure and peaceful life.

<div>My name is Hani Almadhoun, and my family and friends live in the North of Gaza, Palestine. Most aid is being blocked at the border, and there isn’t nearly enough to fight back the famine or save my loved ones. So we decided to do something about it.

<div>My brother, Mahmoud Almadhoun, and his friends volunteered to start a soup kitchen in Bait Lahia, to provide hot meals to friends and neighbors. They bought four large pots, purchased wood for the fire, and risked their lives to dig up potatoes. They also purchased tomato paste and cooking oil, and three hours later, 120 families had food for the day. The next day 150 starved families ate from the kitchen.

<div>Word spread rapidly, and the next day, even more neighbors arrived. Mahmoud sprang into action, venturing out to procure ingredients for a fresh meal. He returned with leafy greens, onions, and mushrooms, crafting a new dish that was as delightful as it was nourishing. The kitchen's capacity has now expanded to accommodate meals for up to 3000 people daily, and the numbers continue to grow. For many, this was their first substantial meal in days, and the departure from canned food was a welcomed change that filled hearts with gratitude.

<div>You may wonder why these individuals can accomplish something that few have managed to do in the heart of starvation in Gaza. That would be a fair question.

<li>First, Bait Lahia has some farms where veggies and wild greens are now in season.

<li>We made sure they had the money to purchase these hard-to-find items.
</li>
<li>Additionally, they are located in the heart of the market, so they can easily spot any of these veggies and cooking essentials arriving at the market.
</li>
<li>They have also visited farms close to the Green Line to find veggies and have been lucky a few times. Once, they purchased overgrown zucchinis that should have been picked weeks ago.
</li>
<li>Mom and my sisters lovingly wake up early to peel and prep the food for the day's meals.
</li>
